Su Qinglan went to visit Yue Lian, only to walk into a trap set by Rong Yanchen. He held her at knifepoint, revealing his superior strength and attempting to lure her away from Shi Feng.

Su Qinglan’s thoughts raced. A multitude of events had unfolded in mere moments, yet Shi Feng remained conspicuously absent. She hadn’t even perceived his presence until he chose to reveal himself.

This Rong Yanchen was undeniably, terrifyingly powerful.

Her expression grew grim as she assessed the situation. She was nearing the end of her pregnancy, on the verge of childbirth, potentially as soon as tomorrow. Reckless confrontation was not an option. A pang of regret struck her – why hadn’t she brought Xuan Long along?

Abruptly, Rong Yanchen’s powerful arms encircled her waist, attempting to lift her.

Su Qinglan reacted with lightning speed, forcefully pushing his hands away. "Stay away from me with those filthy hands!" she spat.

A glint of dark amusement flashed in Rong Yanchen’s eyes. Before she could fully break free, a sharp cry of pain escaped her lips.

The tip of his dagger had found its mark on her back, grazing the curve of her spine. Warm blood bloomed through her clothing.

She met his gaze with a furious glare.

Rong Yanchen offered a cold smile, his voice dropping to a low, menacing tone.

"My temper isn't the best, woman. Even if you become my future mate, I'll treat you decently… but only if you remain compliant. I dislike games," he threatened.

This time, as his muscular arms once again encircled her waist, pressing against her heavily pregnant belly, Su Qinglan dared not resist. Her face contorted in agony and humiliation, her teeth clenched so tightly she feared they might shatter.

In the suffocating silence, a slender green vine slowly emerged from the earth near her feet. It stealthily slithered towards the door, attempting to escape unnoticed. If it reached Shi Feng, he would surely charge in.

She believed that with Shi Feng beside her, they could at least force this scoundrel to withdraw.

However, her hope was extinguished in an instant.

Rong Yanchen’s foot descended with brutal force, crushing the vine into the floor with a sickening crunch. "Don't bother with tricks," he stated calmly. "And I'm not unaware of your little tactics."

Su Qinglan’s eyes widened in disbelief. She stared at him, rendered speechless. How could he possibly know?

Rong Yanchen flashed a wicked, triumphant grin. He had already secured victory in this encounter. His knowledge of her abilities far surpassed her own awareness.

While Su Qinglan’s mind remained in utter disarray, Rong Yanchen held her firmly, propelling them through the darkness. She couldn't comprehend a single thing.

How could this man possibly know about her plant-based abilities?

Even her own beast companions had never fully grasped the extent of her powers, as she had always guarded many secrets deeply within her heart.

Yet, this man had crushed her small vine without hesitation, as if he had anticipated her every move.

Before she could even gather her scattered thoughts, Rong Yanchen had already bound her eyes with a dark cloth and spirited her away through a concealed exit from Yue Lian’s residence.

The instant they stepped outside, Su Qinglan detected a profound anomaly. It felt as though their entire presence had vanished from the surrounding environment.

Their scent, their aura, their footsteps, and even their breaths seemed to be masked by an unseen, mystical force, causing her heart to sink progressively deeper with each passing second.

Su Qinglan’s fingers instinctively tightened around her distended stomach, a wave of fear and regret washing over her chest. Had she been alone, she would have confronted this villain head-on without a second thought.

Even if complete victory were unattainable, she would have exacted a heavy price. But circumstances had drastically changed. Her cubs were close to being born. She could not jeopardize their safety recklessly while ensnared in such perilous circumstances.

Bowing her head slightly, she whispered silently within her heart, "Babies… please be calm for now. Do not emerge yet. Your mother is not in a state to adequately protect you all."

Remarkably, the restless movements within her womb gradually subsided, as if the cubs had truly comprehended her plea. This in itself brought a stinging sensation to her eyes, a rush of emotion, but she forced herself to regain composure.

Meanwhile, Rong Yanchen continued his rapid, unceasing progress through the shadows. A chill wind constantly swept against Su Qinglan’s body, and she had no way of gauging the distance they had already covered.

Her entire being remained rigidly tense, meticulously cataloging every subtle movement and sound, but it proved futile. This man operated with far too much experience and ingrained caution.

Before she could fully register it, they had already traversed the formidable walls of Dragon Beast City.

Finally, after what felt like an interminable duration, Rong Yanchen’s pace slackened before he carried her into a cave, its interior cold and damp.

The immediate scent of wet stone assailed her nostrils, and soon after, he gently set her down upon the cave floor.

The moment her feet made contact with the ground, Su Qinglan swiftly tore the cloth from her eyes and retreated several steps, her expression a mask of profound revulsion.

Her sharp eyes immediately fixed upon Rong Yanchen, who, with a deliberate slowness, removed the dark cloak that had concealed his features. The instant his true face was brought into view, Su Qinglan's expression grew noticeably colder. His features were of an astonishing handsomeness, a visage that could easily be mistaken for a celestial being from ancient tales. Yet, within her eyes, that face was merely the mask of a brazen devil, one who rightfully deserved a swift death. Rong Yanchen, however, appeared rather amused as he observed her enraged countenance. His gaze gradually descended towards her visibly swollen abdomen, before he casually inquired, "How many days until the birth?" The very moment Su Qinglan registered his words, her body became rigid with apprehension. But Rong Yanchen simply offered a light smile and continued in an even tone, "You should be giving birth any time now. After all, I must first dispose of this inconvenience before I can finally claim you entirely." As those words reached her ears, Su Qinglan's fury erupted without restraint. Without a second thought, she snatched a rock from the ground and hurled it directly at his face, her voice thundering with rage, "You utterly shameless scoundrel! Should you dare lay a hand on my offspring, I shall flay you alive!" Her eyes burned crimson with her anger as she stared him down with murderous intent, looking as though she genuinely desired to tear a chunk of flesh from his very being.
