CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 938: One-way Road To Death

Seeing that the system wasn’t replying, Asher simply shook his head with a light smile and decided to stop pestering it. Who knew? The system could just get angry and decide to shut down or something. Although the system didn’t do much actively, Asher never forgot that it provided Mind and Soul protection. So, even if the system angrily went dormant, as long as it still performed those two functions, Asher would happily continue teasing it whenever he had the chance.

With that, his eyes shifted toward the stats. Asher nearly whistled as he stared at the ridiculous numbers before him. It was simply sheer insanity. After all, every single number on that status screen had almost doubled.

There were three sets of stats displayed by the system. The first parameters were the ones he had originally possessed while he was at the Dust Firmstar Life Rank. The middle parameters represented the increases brought about by Limitless Physical Growth, while the third parameters were the ones that came from the Fruit Of Dawn reconstructing his body with the remaining energy it contained.

After Limitless Physical Growth had activated, every stat had clearly jumped by a minimum of over two hundred and twenty points across the board. Although Asher didn’t know exactly how strong he had become due to his Absolute Physique adapting to every increase in his stats, he had previously guessed that he still hadn’t bridged the gap between Wavestar and Voidstar, as every Life Rank represented an enormous chasm.

That was precisely why he had wanted to play it safe by battling only a Wargrave Knight at the Dust Voidstar Life Rank earlier.

But now, compared to the new stats he was looking at, the points gained from the Fruit Of Dawn’s evolution, Asher felt as though Limitless Physical Growth hadn’t even done anything at all. After all, after his stats had increased by a minimum of over two hundred and twenty points, the Fruit Of Dawn had pushed every single one of them upward again by a staggering increase of more than seven hundred points.

That was the true epitome of madness. It pushed his already ridiculous stats to another level entirely, allowing him to comfortably cross the two-thousand-point threshold. As usual, his Vitality stayed ahead of every other stat as though he were destined to become some sort of immortal, with the Perception stat following closely behind as his Omni Perception now comfortably covered a two-kilometer radius, steadily reaching toward three kilometers.

His own natural perception extended even farther than that, but Asher always preferred relying on Omni Perception since it was simply far more precise and perceptive than his own natural senses.

Asher continued staring at the stat points, still unable to fully get over what he was seeing. In total, his Strength had increased by over nine hundred points. His Agility had also risen by well over nine hundred points. His Vitality had shattered yet another threshold, increasing by more than one thousand points, while his Perception had likewise climbed by over one thousand points.

Asher’s gaze shifted toward Vitality. Although the other stats had three displayed values, Vitality had four, as it had increased once again, becoming the very first stat to step into the three-thousand-point domain. Asher didn’t need to think too much to realize that these newest stat points had come from the increase in the purity and density of his soul, which alone had boosted his Vitality by almost a whopping five hundred points.

Although that increase was still lower than what the reconstruction of his body had granted, which was well over seven hundred points, it was nevertheless considerably higher than the gains from Limitless Physical Growth, which had provided only a little over two hundred points.

Asher couldn’t help but wonder whether he could truly be killed at this point. After all, Vitality wasn’t only about lifespan. It also represented just how tenacious a person’s life truly was. One could receive injuries that should have unquestionably killed them, yet still remain alive, stubbornly refusing to die.

Just like the finger-tap blow Arianna had used against him that had crushed all two hundred and six of his bones while simultaneously collapsing all of his internal organs, yet he had somehow remained alive until his regeneration restored him completely.

What normal person would still be alive after every single one of their organs had collapsed and all of their bones had been shattered? Simply nobody.

Vitality had kept Asher alive that day.

’Three thousand...’ Asher thought to himself as he looked at the number.

He couldn’t help but imagine a scene where he would eventually fall in love with someone weaker than himself, marry her, have children together, and build a family, only for him to outlive both his wife and his own children, watching them all die of old age while he remained youthful.

Asher sighed as he shook his head, refusing to dwell on that particular thought. Personally, he had always had a preference for powerful women. Although back on Earth he had merely been an ordinary person dating Jennifer, Jennifer had still been the best medical student across every medical course, category, and section.

Wasn’t that a form of power?

He shook his head once more as he decided to stop thinking about it. After all, one didn’t choose whom they loved. The heart simply chose whom it chose, and he was in no position to control it.

His eyes shifted toward the system’s note next, a smile once again forming on his lips. It had taken him acquiring nearly a thousand additional points across all of his parameters just to physically match a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker, and that was only in terms of raw physical ability. The chasm separating the two realms was simply too staggering. Asher couldn’t help but imagine just how long it would have taken him to achieve such a feat if the Fruit Of Dawn hadn’t entered the equation.

But Asher wasn’t delusional enough to think he could defeat every Dust Voidstar Life Ranker. Only an idiot would think that way. The system had specifically stated physically, meaning that in every other aspect, he still fell short... well, perhaps excluding Astra reserves and Astra control. But when it came to elemental mastery, hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, battle experience, and countless other aspects of combat, he simply wasn’t there yet.

Besides, the abilities of Dust Voidstar Life Rankers hadn’t even been taken into account. Neither had their bloodlines, nor their own unique physiques, assuming they possessed any.

So, while he might have stepped into the domain of a Voidstar Life Ranker, he was still merely standing at the doorway and hadn’t actually entered the room. Within that room stood men and women of entirely different calibers, individuals before whom Debro and Xal’Thar would be no different from babies.

While his current Star Form might allow him to injure a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker, it still wasn’t enough to actually defeat one.

As Asher had all these thoughts, he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

’In the end, I simply need more and more training. A mere glance from a Spark Voidstar Life Ranker might as well erase me from existence, while Dust Voidstar Life Rankers would simply play around with me as though I were a child,’ Asher thought to himself with a sigh.

He didn’t dare become arrogant. Not the so-called Fruit Of Dawn, not the titles he had accumulated, nor the love the entire world showered upon him would ever make him arrogant.

Arrogance was a one-way road to death.

So, until he became the strongest being in Crymora, powerful enough to look down upon everything beneath the heavens with absolute disdain, arrogance could wait.

’I wonder how Arianna is going to close such a gap now,’ Asher mused to himself, his eyes briefly shifting toward her as his Emotion Perception ability sensed nothing but pure determination and unwavering resolve.
