CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 937: Sinvaira Of Greed?
Asher couldn’t help but smile. He was satisfied with these abilities. Although he had endured intense pain for them, to him it was nothing. He would endure even ten times that amount of pain for even half of these abilities. After all, even some people who possessed the ability to manipulate souls might not possess abilities like these.
Just because someone possessed the ability to manipulate or control souls didn’t suddenly make them some unimaginable genius simply because the ability was rare. At the end of the day, all abilities required hard work, and if someone didn’t put in the effort, then there would be no overpowered skills for them to derive from their ability. Talent could open the door, but only effort could determine how far one would ultimately walk through it.
With that, Asher shifted his thoughts to his main status page as, within his thoughts, he whispered a single word.
’Status.’
The system received the command instantly as the soul abilities that were listed immediately vanished, and his status screen appeared before him.

Asher stood frozen as he stared at the status screen. He had no words for what he had just seen, literally no words. What could he possibly even say? Fuck? Damn? Shit? Jeez? No curse word could perfectly articulate how he felt as he stared at the status screen before him.
Asher’s purple eyes started from the very top, his gaze glossing over his name, age, bloodline, and physique, as those had remained the same as ever unless some sort of evolution occurred. His eyes then landed on his titles as he noticed he had acquired three new ones.
’Most Talented Being To Grace Crymora,’ Asher thought to himself as he stared at the first new title. ’With this title, do I now have the right to be a bit arrogant?’ Asher asked himself, his eyes still fixed on the status screen.
Throughout these past two years, despite his ridiculous speed of cultivation and breakthroughs, Asher had never once believed or told himself that he was the most talented human being in the world or anything of the sort. He had always believed that the world contained someone who was better than him. He simply didn’t know who that person was.
And Arianna Haellight had indeed come close. Because if one really thought about it, despite her cultivation, one had to remember that she had to train fifty percent of the skills she copied by herself until they reached their current strength. And judging by her outrageous Genesis Archive ability, one couldn’t help but imagine just how many skills she actually possessed.
Almost all the skills and abilities Arianna had displayed, except ones like Miniaturized Black Hole and the original fifty percent that automatically ranked up alongside her cultivation, had all been trained to their current destructive force entirely by herself. She was simply a ridiculous woman through and through, someone whose talent and work ethic complemented each other perfectly.
But... what made Asher love this title even more was the fact that it didn’t say the Most Talented Human To Grace Crymora, but the Most Talented Being To Grace Crymora. That was a huge difference. After all, it meant the system had taken Monsters, Emovirae, Beasts, and whatever other monstrosities existed out there into account, and they had all failed to match his sheer talent.
This title truly put a smile on Asher’s face.
But at the end of the day, talent didn’t equal combat prowess. Talent represented the future, while combat prowess represented the present. So, if one of those ancient monsters or Olden beings managed to catch him on a battlefield, they would erase him in less than the blink of an eye.
Besides, another important thing was the fact that even if the whole world believed that Asher was the most talented being, or even the most talented human, to ever grace the planet, and that wasn’t actually true, then the system wouldn’t acknowledge it. The system only acknowledged the truth, no matter how many billions or even trillions of people believed in a lie. That was one of the reasons why Asher trusted the titles granted by the system so much. They weren’t products of public opinion, but absolute recognition.
Asher stared at the next title, Youngest Winner Of The Inter-Empire Competition, which was rather straightforward. After all, he had literally participated in the competition and won it as a first-year student.
Although, if the competition had been held during people like Malrik’s era, Asher wouldn’t have possessed this title because Malrik had entered Star Academy at the age of fifteen due to his overwhelming talent, prompting Cindralis herself to grant him an exception. Meaning that, by the age of eighteen, Malrik would already have been in his third year while still being a year younger than Asher.
But alas, the world didn’t operate on what-ifs. It only recognized certainties and reality. Asher’s eyes moved to the final new title; The Dominator.
It was simply a title that the entire world had given him after his ridiculous and spectacular performances. And simply because of that, the system had acknowledged it. After all, it was a title genuinely bestowed upon him by the people themselves.
’Sigh... maybe these titles should start coming with their own personal effects or something,’ Asher mused to himself.
He couldn’t help but wonder just how much of a boost a title like Most Talented Being To Grace Crymora would provide if it actually came with an effect. Would it multiply his talent even further? Increase his learning speed? Improve his comprehension? The possibilities alone were enough to make his imagination run wild.
’Hey, System, what do you think? Isn’t this a nice suggestion?’ Asher thought, directing his thoughts toward the system with an innocent expression that didn’t match the shamelessness of his request.
[...]
The system was rendered speechless by Asher’s thoughts. Imagine someone with a title proclaiming him to be the most talented being on the entire planet, yet the person still wasn’t satisfied and instead wanted the title itself to possess an effect that would further multiply his already monstrous talent.
[The Host’s greed truly knows no bounds. Now the system understands why Crymora doesn’t have a Sinvaira of Greed. It’s simply because the Host is already the embodiment of Greed itself... but as a Human, not a Sinvaira]
The system chimed as it replied.
Asher smiled at the system’s words.
’No need to judge me. It’s simply Human nature. Even the richest man back on Earth hasn’t quit his job. He still wakes up every day, goes to the office, attends meetings, and hustles for even more money despite the wealth in his accounts, shares, and stocks that he couldn’t possibly spend even across ten lifetimes. People always want more. That’s just how Humans are built.’
[...]
The system was rendered speechless once more. It couldn’t exactly argue with Asher’s logic, as it made an uncomfortable amount of sense. At the end of the day, it could only remain silent. It must never give in to its Host’s bottomless greed.
If the system had a tongue, it would definitely be clicking it in sheer amazement and irritation at Asher’s endless shameless.
