CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 1239: Sealed Box [Super Gift Bonus - ]

~5 minute read · 1,255 words

The metal door to the Wargrave Vault worked almost the same way as the doors at the Wargrave Training Facility. The indestructible metal doors at the Training Facility only required a Wargrave to project their Will and DNA, and they would open.

But these Wargrave Vault doors didn’t require Will, only DNA... well, according to the information they had acquired over the years.

And with only DNA being required, the Sinvairas were adequately prepared. They already had the DNA of an Emperor, so obtaining the DNA of a Wargrave wasn’t anything outrageous.

Asher himself had nine siblings, then there were his uncles and aunts, followed by his granduncles and grandaunts, and even Wargraves who had existed before these people. Thus, acquiring the DNA was easy.

They could also have simply taken it from Nazark’s corpse after killing him.

"Let’s begin."

Kraymar stated as he took out a vial containing the blood of a Wargrave. He removed the cork, then flicked his bony fingers and hand, causing the red blood to leave the bottle and splash against the black metal door.

The door shone brightly as a dark light illuminated the underground space. The door trembled for a moment, as though it was about to open, then stopped as nothing else happened.

Frowns immediately appeared on Kraymar and Vellamira’s faces. They couldn’t afford to have anything go wrong after coming this far and discovering that what they needed was here.

If they left empty-handed, there was no way they could get in here again. It would be impossible to fool Azaron twice using this method.

"It seems the door requires Will after all."

Kraymar stated as he stared at the door, watching as the dark light that had shone earlier dimmed and disappeared.

Vellamira remained silent for a moment as she couldn’t help but consider various solutions, even though there seemed to be nothing they could do.

After a moment... an idea flickered into her mind. Her head snapped towards Kraymar as she asked in a curious tone;

"Do you have an Undead Wargrave within your Legion?"

Her tone remained calm as she saw a possible path forward.

At her words, Kraymar’s eyes lit up instantly as he understood what Vellamira was getting at. And the answer to her question was yes. It was simply impossible to have existed for almost twenty thousand years and not have an Undead Wargrave under his command.

Not everyone possessed an immense Will like Nazark. Besides, some of these Wargraves had been taken out by them before they could reach their true potential, just like how Wuthenya had been targeted two years ago by Orvak.

Kraymar snapped his fingers once more, his Astra Energy surging from his Astra Veins as the black gate emerged from his shadow. As it opened, a Dark Knight who was barely over six feet tall stepped forward.

The Dark Knight knelt before Kraymar as a dark presence hummed faintly around her body.

This was a Wargrave whom Kraymar had killed a couple of millennia ago before the woman could grow any stronger.

"I greet my Lord."

The Wargrave Dark Knight spoke.

Kraymar didn’t even bother speaking much with the Undead Wargrave. The woman was weak, as she had died when she was still at the Dust Blazestar Life Rank, her potential having been cut short.

"Place your hand on the door and will it to open."

He instructed without turning towards the Undead Wargrave.

"As my Lord orders."

The Undead Wargrave Dark Knight stated as she rose to her feet and approached the door. She didn’t recognise the door or the underground basement, but she didn’t ask any questions. She had been given an order, and all she had to do was carry it out.

Kraymar’s and Vellamira’s expressions became serious. They needed this to work; it had to work by all means.

The idea was simple. Since the metallic black door required Will, something they hadn’t accounted for, they could only call upon an Undead. Kraymar’s Undead weren’t puppets or machines. They possessed thoughts, emotions, and everything else, and therefore, they also possessed Will.

But whether this would work or not, they didn’t know. It was simply a gamble.

And so, they watched as they unconsciously held their breath for a moment.

The Undead Wargrave Dark Knight touched the door and willed it to open. As she did so, the door shone once more with the same dark light, then trembled gently. After a moment, the door creaked as it finally opened inwards.

Both Sinvairas immediately heaved a sigh of relief. The moment reminded them that things didn’t always go according to plan.

Before the Dark Knight could step back, Kraymar’s voice came once again.

"Move forward. We will follow from behind."

He was cautious, as he didn’t know if there were any traps for those who weren’t Wargraves. Therefore, this Undead Knight was an experiment.

The Undead Dark Knight stepped into the vault, looked around for a moment, then turned towards her master and nodded. Receiving the signal, Kraymar and Vellamira stepped inside cautiously, ready to react to anything.

The Vault was brightly lit by various crystals that shone in different hues. The ceiling was adorned with various crystals that could easily sell for thousands of gold coins at the minimum.

At the sides were various shelves filled with books. Kraymar walked towards one of the shelves and took out a book at random. It turned out to contain Chain Techniques created by a Primarch in the past whose soul-bound weapon had been a chain.

He moved to another shelf and took out a book. It was a diary belonging to another Wargrave, who seemed to have a hobby of documenting his daily life.

There were also various swords, spears, bows and arrows, and weapons of all kinds littered across the vault. It was as if the Primarchs of the past had robbed their enemies of their fortunes and dumped everything here.

Rare ores used for crafting could be seen in heaps, while platinum coins lay scattered in piles, as there weren’t even any gold coins here. But that wasn’t all; various food supplies were also stocked within this place, enough to feed millions of people dozens of times over. Each was preserved using various artefacts and abilities that remained active to this day.

Clearly, the Wargraves had prepared for the possibility of a war completely crippling the economy. They were ready to feed the entire Territory for a year and a few months, by which time the economy would have stabilised.

"Stop looking around and find what we came for, Kraymar."

Vellamira’s voice came from ahead. She wasn’t interested in anything here, as they, being Sinvairas, were simply too rich to be moved by these artefacts or anything else. Although something that might interest them could be here, they didn’t have the luxury of examining every single item in the vault.

After a couple of minutes of searching, Kraymar’s voice came.

"Found it."

Vellamira’s head snapped towards Kraymar’s position as she appeared beside him in a blur.

Seated upon a wooden table was a long, rectangular wooden box secured with a padlock. Ten sealing talismans were affixed to the rectangular wooden box, serving to seal whatever was within. The padlock also had a seal etched into it through various small runes.
