CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 1175: Rookie Mistake [GT Ranking Bonus - ]

At the First Regent’s words, the Second Regent and Third Regent simply shook their heads as they spoke once more.
"We’ve always accounted for the Frontier finding the decoy underground space, which was why it was put up in the first place."
The Third Regent stated as he sighed with a helpless tone.
"And personally, I would have found it more suspicious if the Frontier didn’t find out about the decoy underground at all. That would mean they have found out about us and were just playing the fool to bait us."
The Second Regent followed up as he seemed tired of having this conversation.
And indeed, they had known about the entire ordeal about Asher’s team finding the underground station and moving against their mission route. They had four Soldiers with stealth and immense combat abilities who kept an eye on everything, and when these four Soldiers knew that the underground had been discovered, they had reported it and taken a step back.
Corporal Sonya had made the right call by entering the underground, as if she had gone back to report, they would have faced life or death battles that only Asher could save them from.
"And not only that, the watchers reported that the Soldiers were Cadets, who were being led by a Corporal, none of them having the power to infiltrate this place, and although the Tenth Sun was amongst this group of Cadets, he has already left after killing the Monkey and the Emovira."
The Grand Regent stated this time, as she too was of the opinion that the First Regent was being too cautious, and he was also particularly known for this.
The First Regent stayed silent for a moment. Seeing that he couldn’t win the argument, he simply shrugged and gave up. He wasn’t the Grand Regent anyway.
Seeing the First Regent shrug, the Grand Regent sighed in a defeated tone as she spoke.
"How about this? Within the next three weeks, about two million Soldiers would be smuggled over, and once they come, we will begin the slaughter, three weeks ahead of plan."
She suggested, as that was the only leeway she could give. Although she knew that the First Regent wanted them to speed things up, it was impossible, or they would be caught if they tried doing anything rash. Besides, they only had three million people, and the enemy had five million.
Their own losses would be of a greater magnitude if they began their ambush now.
The First Regent simply nodded and said nothing more. Although deep down, he was already planning to leave this underground bunker and look around the forest, just to know if the Algorith Frontier was deploying anyone or making any unforeseen changes they hadn’t made within the past one month.
"Since that is all, you three may leave."
The Grand Regent stated, ready to return to the work she was doing before the First Regent interrupted her with his cautious personality.
But before the First Regent and the Third Regent could move, the Second Regent asked in a curious tone.
"Has the burial date for the Empress finally been scheduled?"
His eyes fixed on the Grand Regent as he spoke.
The Grand Regent frowned for a moment, then spoke with a heavy sigh as though she was tired of the entire situation.
"It has. The Emperor says he wouldn’t bury his wife until the Zarethorne Empire and the Emperor pay for assassinating his wife... or at least that’s the rumor going around."
Her tone was a bit heavy as her eyes flickered with a bit of doubt, but she didn’t voice her own thoughts. Although she didn’t voice it, the other Regents voiced theirs.
"Personally, I’m of the opinion that the Zarethorne Empire is being framed and we’re just wasting our time and resources on the wrong people."
The Third Regent stated as he made his thoughts and beliefs known without hiding anything.
The Second nodded as he began to speak.
"I agree. How can the Zarethorne Empire Emperor have gotten to the Velkarin Empire, killed the Empress during childbirth, then mistakenly left his hair strand behind? That’s a rookie mistake, and if the ploy and the scheme inside this isn’t obvious, I wonder how obvious it has to be before the Emperor and the High Court see it."
The Second Regent explained as he supported the Third Regent’s claims.
Although they were all angry and furious at the assassination of their Empress and the birth of the Velkarin Empire’s heir, none of them wanted to be led by the nose like fools. Instead of wasting time here, they would rather be wiping out the real enemies.
The Third nodded his head for a moment, his eyes shifting towards the First Regent as he asked.
"What do you think, First Regent? What does your overcautious mind say?"
His tone was curious as an expectant expression appeared on his face. He expected this particular Regent to say the wildest thing and make a huge accusation.
But although he was very cautious by nature, his power wasn’t to be joked with. There was a reason he was the First Regent.
The First Regent stayed silent for a moment. He touched his chin with his index finger and thumb as though lost in thought. After a moment, he spoke.
"If I’m to make a guess, this is something the Sinvairas can pull off. As the Second Regent said, the Zarethorne Empire Emperor leaving a hair strand behind is a rookie mistake. As for what the Sinvairas’ goal truly is... only they know, as nobody can truly know what those things are scheming."
He stated as he shook his head in an exasperated tone. He was merely making a guess, as he didn’t truly know.
As the Second Regent was about to speak, the Grand Regent interjected.
"It doesn’t matter if the Zarethorne Empire is innocent or not. The Emperor has given the order, and we, the Knights, have to follow. Somebody has to pay for the blood and death of our Queen."
She stated with an indifferent expression as she truly didn’t care. Yes, she believed that the Zarethorne Empire was being framed, but could she go against orders? Certainly not. She could only carry out the plans presented to her by the High Court.
"If someone has to pay, I’d rather just assassinate the Emperor than making a move on Damian Wargrave. Even if you manage to kill him, Grand Regent, the Wargraves, who have barely participated in their war, would become more active, and they would hunt your own till the end."
The Third Regent spoke in a bit of a sad tone as he shook his head, saying how he felt. He could only hope that another Wargrave wasn’t hiding here; that way, the Grand Regent would have a high chance of killing the Wargrave.
Just because Wargraves were known for their power and thirst for revenge didn’t mean that when given an order, they, who were Knights, wouldn’t carry it out because of simply fear. They were all ready to die for their Empire. That was the level of love they had for their Empire.
