Asher returned from his fight with the Emovira and Monkey, which had taken place in a special layered space. He rejoined Corporal Sonya and the cadets, reporting that the enemies were paid mercenaries. Sonya decided the group would retreat using a Life-Saving Orb, but ordered Asher to stay behind to gather more information and hold the enemy, with the sole instruction to come back alive.

At her words, Asher nodded as he spoke in a respectful tone.

"Yes, Corporal Sonya."

At Asher’s words, Corporal Sonya simply nodded her head. She turned to the four Cadets who were still holding their Life-Saving Orbs since the moment Asher took on the two Rank 7 Emovirae and Crown-Class Monsters.

Looking at the four of them, she nodded yet again, signaling them to use their Life-Saving Orbs. The four of them shifted their gazes towards Asher, but they didn’t delay for long. They simply crushed the Orbs. With that, a green light enveloped them as they vanished in less than a second.

With their departure, Corporal Sonya turned towards Asher as she spoke.

"Although neither you nor I can confirm the presence of a Rank 9 Emovira or Void-Class Monster from here, do not hesitate to use the Emergency Pulse Bead. It was given to us for a reason."

Her tone was gentle this time around as she understood that she was sending Asher into the lion’s den.

Asher nodded his head, saying nothing in reply. Corporal Sonya shifted her eyes towards the Life-Saving Orb in her hand, then gazed at Asher one last time, then crushed it, her body becoming cloaked in a green sheen as she too vanished.

Seeing everyone leave, Asher took in a deep breath, then exhaled as he prepared his mind for an encounter with an End-Class Monster.

"Lyra."

He called out without looking in any particular direction for her, as he knew she had always been present since they left the Frontier.

At Asher’s words, Lyra’s figure appeared in a literal wisp of smoke, displaying one of the abilities she had devoured from an Emovira in the past few months. She was still dressed in her Maid uniform, not changing to anything, her sword still hanging on her waist.

"Young Master," she greeted as she appeared.

Asher turned his gaze towards her for a moment. He wanted to ask her about the residence the Frontier had assigned to her, but at the end of the day, this wasn’t the place or time for that.

"Do not interfere unless it is absolutely necessary."

Asher ordered in a calm tone. Although he didn’t need to give Lyra this instruction, it was still extremely necessary. Besides, he guessed that Spark, Flare, Pulse, and Radiant Voidstar Life Rankers might move faster than he could activate Virelass’ Position Marker. He wasn’t even taking Soulstar Life Rankers into account yet, let alone Crownstar Life Rankers.

Hearing her Young Master’s words, Lyra bowed as she spoke calmly.

"I shall follow the Young Master’s orders."

Asher said nothing else, his head shifting towards the ground. His purple eyes stared at it as he tapped into his Astra Energy, trying to read whatever was below, but he read nothing. Something was blocking him. With a thought, his Astra Energy vanished, his heartbeat like an engine as Star Energy stirred from his heart and flowed into the ground.

If Astra Energy couldn’t work, then Star Energy probably could. As for what he was doing, he was trying to gain any bit of information before he jumped into this unknown underground space. But alas, even Star Energy failed, as the entire underground space seemed to reject any supernatural energy.

Asher’s mind couldn’t help but shift to Blue, the Assassin who had the ability to nullify energies. After a moment, he sighed and dissipated his Star Energy. Without turning towards Lyra, he spoke in a soft tone.

"Try channeling your senses underground and see if you can bypass whatever restrictions are down there."

He instructed with a puzzled expression as he crossed his hands against his chest.

Lyra didn’t reply. Her senses spread downwards, but she too found nothing. She switched to Astra Energy, still nothing. She shook her head as she spoke in a steady, calm tone.

"I also have no luck, Young Master."

At her words, Asher wasn’t exactly surprised. He had already guessed that whatever was down there was doing its best to hide whatever was within.

For a moment, he couldn’t help but consider The Convergence. Yes, he had assumed some sort of War was happening and that three Crownstar Life Rankers were down there, but what if this was all the doing of The Convergence?

’I hope there aren’t people being tortured down there.’

He couldn’t help but think to himself, his mind flying with the possibility that Frontier Soldiers who had been assumed dead were down there.

Without wasting any more time, his Astra Energy came alive, his body vanishing into the Second Layer Of Space. With a thought, his body shot downwards as he phased through the earth itself through his space affinity, his body plummeting as the second underground was about one thousand five hundred meters deep.

After a couple of seconds, Asher’s eyes landed on what seemed like a metallic silver surface. He deactivated his phasing ability, but he still remained within the Second Layer Of Space. With a deft touch, his feet met the silver metallic surface.

’So this was what was blocking mine and Lyra’s senses.’

Asher thought to himself as he came to the conclusion in less than a second. Although the silver metallic surface didn’t seem to possess any unique visible features, Asher knew his guess was correct.

If he removed himself from the Second Layer Of Space and returned to the First Layer, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to use Astra Energy and Star Energy. Meaning even Solar Energy, Lunar Energy, and all sorts of Energies would become obsolete.

’I wonder if supernatural energies are also restricted within.’

He thought to himself, as if this guess of his ended up being correct, Lyra might end up being exposed. And as for him, due to him being within the Second Layer Of Space, the restrictions and special features of this silver metal might not necessarily reach him as it interacted with the First Layer Of Space, and he was within the Second.

He immediately sent a telepathic message towards Lyra as he could sense her through Spatial Sense regardless of whether he was in the First Layer Of Space or not.

Lyra simply sent a telepathic message back as she was currently not standing upon the silver metallic surface like Asher. Receiving her confirmation, Asher phased through the silver metallic surface.

His feet touched the ground with zero sound, but the moment he entered, he found out that Lyra couldn’t enter the silver metallic carved bunker through any of her abilities, as any infiltration ability she possessed needed Astra Energy. His thoughts had indeed been right, Astra Energy and all Energies were restricted here.

Asher pulled out a dagger from the System Inventory. He squatted, the dagger barely centimeters away from the ground. The next moment, he removed the dagger from the Second Layer Of Space and into the First Layer Of Space, the metal dagger meeting the silver metallic ground with the most muffled, gentle sound as he had tried his best not to make a sound.

He vanished from where he stood, his body appearing beside Lyra as he appeared within the First Layer Of Space. He touched her shoulder, her body vanished as she appeared beside the dagger within the silver metallic bunker.
