Asher and Lyra begin their journey to the Third Great Elder’s Frontier. Asher cultivates and breaks through to the Flare sub-Life Rank during the week-long journey. Later, they are attacked by a horde of Lycans, whom Asher swiftly dispatches. As more monsters, including flying variants, continue to appear, Asher realizes they must fight their way to the Frontier.

"As the Tenth Sun commands." Kent replied as he instantly snapped out of his reverence for battle. He sat down and immediately got the carriage moving.

The moment the carriage moved, Asher and Lyra leaped atop it. Lyra didn’t move. Personally, she wasn’t a lover of fights and battles, as she had always been on the fence about them. Therefore, she would only make a move when something Asher couldn’t handle appeared, or when he requested her help.

As the carriage rolled forward with swift speed, hundreds of Monsters poured endlessly out of the forest, as though they had all been starving for the past few months. They chased from behind, their speed fast and relentless. Asher smiled and pointed a finger backwards as the Monsters closed in, his Astra energy coming to life as he tapped into their Light Affinity, forming a grid of Light before firing it forward.

As the attack surged forward, Monsters that couldn’t dodge or evade in time were diced into cubes, blood splattering into the air and soaking the ground.

ROAR!!! GROWL!!! GGGRRRRHHH!!! SCREECH!!!

They didn’t stop. Instead, they made various noises and continued moving. But Asher didn’t mind. At least there was some form of entertainment, if anything. His Astra energy danced around his fingers yet again as he snapped his fingers this time.

With that sound, the Monsters suddenly paused, then began attacking each other with maddening savagery. They tore each other’s limbs apart. Orcs battered Wolves, Hobgoblins attacked Lycans, and Trolls attacked anything they saw in front of them. It simply became a free-for-all. They ate each other’s corpses and drank blood with intense glee and satisfaction on their faces.

At that moment, they were under an illusion that they were tearing Asher, Lyra, and Kent apart and eating their bodies. As Asher and Lyra watched, an attack closed in from the side. It was fast, too fast, but alas, it wasn’t fast enough to catch people like Asher and Lyra off guard.

Asher’s Space Affinity came alive as the attack stopped a couple of centimeters away from his body. His purple eyes shifted towards the attack. It was a collection of metallic feathers.

Asher’s eyes snapped towards the side, his hand moving as he unsheathed Virelass in one smooth motion. The moment he unsheathed her, he transitioned into a block, a metallic shriek echoing as metal kissed metal.

Asher’s eyes fell upon his opponent. It was a white Peacock wearing a white haori. It smiled, then pushed forward with the clawed feet it had used to attack, using the momentum to leap backwards and land atop the carriage with calm ease.

"Who would have thought you would block?" the Peacock spoke as its beak moved.

"A talking Peacock?" Asher asked rhetorically.

The Peacock’s beak curved upwards as it replied, "Surprised?"

Asher stayed silent for a moment, then replied, "Not really. I met a talking Goblin once."

The Peacock didn’t speak anymore. It shot towards him, its speed faster than before, its metallic feathered arms screaming towards Asher’s throat with wicked force. Seeing the incoming attacks, Asher’s hand moved as he blocked yet again.

Asher didn’t need a third move to understand that this Peacock was a master when it came to Martial Arts. In a blur, both of them vanished, their forms becoming a phantom. They didn’t leave the top of the carriage; instead, they circled it countless times, exchanging high-speed, high-strength barrages of attacks with perfect footworks.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Asher’s hand moved as he blocked, parried, and deflected, his hand becoming a blur, his eyes dancing within their sockets. The white Peacock’s attacking pattern was irregular. It attacked with both metallic feathered arms, then used its fan-like feathered tail to unleash more attacks. It transitioned to its clawed feet and even its beak.

Lyra could only watch as she followed their speed and attacks with her eyes. Kent’s ears rang endlessly from the metallic echoes, and it seemed as though his eardrums were about to erupt and shatter.

The Peacock leaped backwards and landed on its feet, a frown appearing on its face. It had exchanged countless attacks and landed none. Unlike the rest, which attacked like idiots, it didn’t believe itself to be one.

After all the attacks it had exchanged with Asher, it understood that Asher was probably stronger than it. Its eyes shifted towards Lyra, the woman who had been keeping up with them without taking a single step.

’Tsk, I attacked because I thought the Human could only use illusion-based abilities, and I’m immune to them.’ The Peacock complained.

"Surprised?" Asher asked back.

The Peacock didn’t delay. It immediately flapped its wings and shot into the forest, disappearing faster than it had appeared, making a run for it.

’What’s with everyone and making a run for it?’ Asher mused to himself as he vanished from his position. He appeared beside the Peacock, having crossed the distance with ease.

The Peacock immediately stopped and recalibrated. It leaped backwards, and the moment it did, Virelass flashed past its former location as a thin chasm spanning a kilometer tore open.

The Peacock shot out tens of metallic feathers, then turned and pushed its speed to the brink, Astra energy aiding its movement. But before it could go far, Asher was there yet again, a smile on his face as he swung his rapier downward from above.

Like a hot knife through butter, he tore the Peacock’s right wing from its shoulder. The Peacock unleashed a piercing cry, but Asher wasn’t done. His rapier flashed again, and the Peacock’s second wing was blown off as white feathers and blood poured onto the ground.

The Peacock panted as it stared at Asher with a death glare, but it had nothing to say. Virelass flashed once more as he decapitated it in an instant. He stared at the corpse for a moment, then vanished from where he stood, his figure appearing beside Lyra as he teleported.

"Who would have thought I would see a talking, cocky Peacock?" Asher joked as he appeared.

Lyra smiled as she replied in an amused tone, "I was just as surprised."

As more and more Monsters appeared, Asher simply placed every single one under the same illusion.

He couldn’t help but wonder why the Monsters that filled this area hadn’t been cleared out. After all, this was the way to the Frontier; it should at least have been cleared.

"It has gotten boring." Asher spoke. Although it was fun to have mobs chasing you, at the end of the day, if they couldn’t keep up in strength and speed, then the fun was easily lost.

"I will handle them, Young Master." Lyra spoke as she moved to wipe out every Monster with her own strength.

But before she could act, Asher spoke, "No need."

Astra energy erupted from his body in endless waves, as though he possessed an infinite amount of it. Lightning came alive, the sky rumbling as the clouds moved, as though the sky itself was going to collapse.

The next moment, from the sky, a storm of Lightning barrages tore downward, the number climbing with every passing moment, each bolt of Lightning slamming into a singular Monster.

Trees snapped and tore into brittle fragments, the earth turning into boiling lava as more bolts poured downward, as though the heavens themselves were furious.

And within seconds, everything within a thirty-kilometer radius was erased as though it had never existed to begin with. The smell of burning matter was choking, smoke covered everything and everywhere, and the heat spiked to an unimaginable degree.

The forest descended into a state of silence, as everything had been erased through sheer power. Seventh-ranked Monsters were annihilated as though they were nothing.
