Zarek is warned by Azaron about potential ambushes targeting Jennifer, a rare and valuable healer. Asher, overhearing Jennifer's name, suspects she might be someone from his past on Earth due to the coincidence. He decides to follow Zarek but is intercepted by Azaron, who reveals he knew Asher was there all along. Azaron expresses exasperation with his workload, while Asher suggests radical solutions. Azaron then questions Asher about his unexpectedly extended training period.

Azaron leaned back into his chair with a smile on his face as he spoke, "Welcome to the realm of the strong... although you are still at the bottom. But anyway, now you really understand how hard it is to progress," he stated as he rocked his chair.

"What Life Rank are you at now? I seem to remember you being at the Dust Firmstar Life Rank," he asked as he suddenly remembered.

"Spark sub-Life Rank," Asher answered flatly.

Azaron stopped rocking his chair as though he couldn’t believe what he had just heard. He felt Asher had spent too much time crossing from one rank to the other, but after a moment of thought, he said nothing, as he too had faced such a situation.

He shook his head as he spoke, "This is the effect of always fighting above your Life Rank; one tends to ignore their Life Rank altogether " a sigh escaped his lips.

"But oh well, with a progression that took you a whole eight months to make, you wouldn’t be making any leaps in progress anytime soon," Azaron continued. "So pump all your time and effort into your Life Rank. Just because your Physique is more special than others, enabling you to scale ranks, doesn’t mean you get to ignore the Life Ranks," he stated in finality.

Asher stayed silent as he wondered how Azaron knew his Physique was special. But after a moment of thinking, he came to the conclusion that Azaron’s Physique was probably also special, maybe not to the point of possessing abilities like his own, but it meant the man stood above other Wargraves in terms of something like Physique Quality.

’So he probably assumes mine is like his,’ Asher thought to himself.

He nodded as he replied, "I understand, Father."

He understood that he had been neglecting his Life Rank too much and focusing on his elements and affinities. He had to correct that before it became an issue down the line. Although he didn’t know how it would become an issue, if Azaron was advising him on it, it was best to take his word for it.

"So, layers of space," Azaron continued as he saw Asher accept his advice. "It seems your progress was truly staggering this time," his tone a bit proud as he added, "Show me, I want to see how you achieved it."

His eyes filled with expectations, and through Asher’s Emotion Perception, he could feel the proudness any father would have for their child when they made unexpected progress.

Well, although Azaron had an expectation at this moment. He wasn’t one to burden his children with such things, as he had been burdened with many expectations while growing up.

Asher smiled. If the man wanted to see, he had no reason to disagree. He simply nodded, then vanished from where he stood. The next moment, he appeared within the second layer of space. After staying there for a couple of seconds, he returned to the first layer of space.

Azaron smiled as he spoke, "While your method is good and excellent for someone who achieved this without any form of prior information or help, it’s still a bit too crude," his tone calm.

Asher nodded his head in agreement, as he knew he wouldn’t suddenly perfect entering the second layer of space instantly.

Azaron rose to his feet as he spoke in a low, calm tone, "Observe."

His Astra Energy came alive as space rippled like the surface of a lake, as though the man was opening a portal. He crossed the first layer, then crossed the void just as easily and stepped into the second layer of space. He stopped, turned around, and gazed at Asher, who gazed back at him.

With that, Azaron stepped out of the second layer of reality as he gazed at Asher, as though expecting him to replicate what he did on the spot. And without disappointing, Asher did just that. With his current control over space and his perfect Astra Energy control, it was a piece of cake.

Now, he no longer needed to teleport first before entering the second layer of space.

Seeing this, Azaron smiled as he spoke, "Your next lesson will come when you are able to create an independent Separate Dimension."

Asher’s lips twitched as he couldn’t help but wonder if Azaron wasn’t setting too high of a goal. The man didn’t even say something like the third or fourth layer of space. The man simply scaled the difficulties and went to the hardest, but could he do anything? Definitely not; he could only accept.

"No problem." He nodded as he spoke.

He wasn’t going to actively seek Azaron out for advice. He would try it out on his own first before anything else. After all, making progress by himself was simply too satisfying.

"Have you chosen which Frontier to head to?" Azaron asked as he began to rock his chair again like some old man.

Asher arched an eyebrow as he asked, "You want to recommend any?"

Azaron shook his head as he replied, "Not really, was just curious."

The moment he said that, Asher’s Emotion Perception picked up the emotion of worry from Azaron. Clearly, the man was a bit worried about his safety.

"No need to worry. I will be fine wherever I go," he replied as though he wanted to calm the man’s unease.

Azaron arched an eyebrow as he replied, "Who said I was worrying about you?"

Asher gave a smile as he stated, "I didn’t say you were."

Azaron stared at him for a moment, then said, "Inform me before you leave and after you make your decision."

Asher nodded his head as he replied, "I will."

Azaron sighed as he spoke, "You may leave and enjoy your life, while this Father of yours works hard to provide for his unruly family." He sighed as he spoke as though this was the greatest punishment he had ever received from childhood till date.

Asher gave a small smile as he rose to his feet. He stared at the documents on Azaron’s table as he spoke.

"Want me to help you?" He asked, not exactly knowing what way to help, but he was just asking in case Azaron needed help in any way. Although he was sure if the man needed help, Zarek was enough.

Azaron, who was now focusing on his work, shook his head as he replied, "If I need help, I will just create a Photon Clone like you usually do and have them help me."

Hearing Azaron’s words, Asher simply nodded, not forcing the man or anything of the sort.

"See you later, Old man," he stated as he walked towards the door.

Azaron raised a hand and stared at Asher’s retreating figure. He smiled and shook his head. Since Asher and Malrik were calling him old man, he couldn’t help but consider setting Asher up for adoption.

He shook his head and took another file from the pile and continued the work of a medieval fantasy-style corporate slave.

"I wonder how strong he has become this time," he murmured to himself in a low tone as he tried to focus on his work.

But alas, his mind kept going back to the fact that his son would soon be able to manipulate layers of space.
