CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 1120: Too Coincidental [GT Ranking Bonus - ]

As Zarek turned around to leave, Azaron spoke again.
"Although Jennifer is a Crownstar Life Ranker, at the end of the day, she is someone with a healing ability." His golden eyes finally left the document. "So do well to be conscious of ambushes. Healers like Jennifer are rare; losing her on the way back will affect the Wargrave as a whole," he stated.
Zarek nodded as he understood the severity of losing Jennifer on the way to Frontier 394, or even on the way back.
In Crymora, healers weren’t helpless people who couldn’t fight, neither was there a concept of a glass cannon attached to their names. Anyone who fell into these two categories simply became that of their own control.
Jennifer, as a healer, could use weapons to the level of any random expert out there; her combat experience was immense. But without combat abilities to match her rank, other Crownstar Life Rankers who were combat-oriented could easily kill her in a couple of minutes at most, an hour at the absolute most.
And as for Jennifer’s death affecting the entire Wargrave, it was just as Azaron had said. Those with healing abilities weren’t exactly too rare, but those with abilities and talent to match them were too rare, and even rarer were those who possessed the ability to reach the Crownstar Life Rank.
Jennifer was on that level. She could heal any and all injuries, she could heal diseases, she could practically bring anyone who was one second away from death back to life. She was simply that good, and she could also heal the mind and spirit. She was the full package in one.
Finding a healer who was valuable to you was hard. After all, even healers were paid more than soldiers.
But Crownstar Life Rankers hardly trusted a Crownstar Life Ranker healer. Healing meant surrendering your body to the other party; what if the healer had received payment from an enemy to kill you or make something go wrong during the healing process?
After all, someone who could easily heal you could just as easily kill you during the healing.
This was the reason Valentine, the Master of the Assassin Guild, never wanted to fight Azaron to begin with. He didn’t have a loyal healer like Jennifer.
Of course, there were people like Morthern who could heal other Crownstar Life Rankers with a wave of his hand due to his absurd abilities, but he couldn’t be at one place at all times, and he couldn’t heal the spirit and mind like Jennifer could.
Hearing Azaron’s words, Zarek nodded and left as he understood how important Jennifer was even without Azaron saying anything.
Asher, who was standing beside Azaron, stayed silent, his eyes seeming to flicker at the mention of the name Jennifer.
For a moment, he couldn’t help but consider that maybe this Jennifer was the Jennifer he once knew. If he could transmigrate, why couldn’t she? As the thought flickered in his mind, he sighed and shook his head. He had spent the past two years trying to get over her, but here he was having naive thoughts at the mention of her name.
But... Jennifer on Earth was a medical student, on track to become a genius doctor. And the Jennifer here was a healer; it was simply too coincidental, no?
He was tempted to meet this woman named Jennifer and ask her if she was familiar with the name Ethan Stane. He didn’t need to see a facial reaction; with his Soul Emotion Perception ability, he would arrive at an answer.
Although unknown to him, this same Jennifer was the woman who had checked on him after his battle with Debro a couple of months back.
Asher immediately made his choice. He walked forward as he moved to follow Zarek. He decided not to disturb Azaron, as the man seemed too busy at the moment and he couldn’t use any distraction.
As Asher reached the door and was about to leave, Azaron’s voice came yet again.
"You are indeed picking up your adopted brother’s behavior." His tone was calm without leaving the paper in his hand.
The moment those words reached Asher’s ears, his body instantly came to a halt. He knew that Azaron could manipulate space as an extension of the Nebula, entering it and seeing the man’s lack of reaction, both physical and emotional. Asher had come to the conclusion that Azaron couldn’t sense him.
Not that he thought that the man didn’t possess this level of space manipulation, but that the man couldn’t sense him passively, only when he tried actively. And since the man wasn’t trying, he couldn’t sense him.
Asher paused and turned around, his eyes landing on Azaron. He didn’t bother asking internal questions about whether Azaron was talking to him or not. He knew the man was addressing him.
Azaron raised his eyes once more, his eyes meeting Asher’s purple ones.
Asher sighed as space rippled and he stepped into Azaron’s study room within the first layer of space.
"You knew I was here from the very beginning." His tone was a bit defeated, as he knew he would miss Jennifer’s departure now that he was talking to Azaron.
But he wasn’t too worried, as he was sure that the woman would still come back to the Wargrave Estate.
"Who do you think you are talking to?" Azaron replied with a smirk on his face. "When I started walking the layers of space, the thought of you didn’t even exist," he mused.
Asher rolled his eyes at Azaron’s words, but he didn’t argue.
"It seems you have your hands full," he stated as he walked forward and sat opposite the man with a calm expression.
Azaron’s eyes shifted towards the paper in his hand, then to the stack on his table. He sighed, then shook his head as he replied.
"You know, sometimes I wish I had a sibling who was more talented than me." His tone was exasperated. "That way they would do all the work and I get to do whatever I want," he stated as though jealous of his five siblings.
Asher stared at the table as he replied, "You could always forcefully make Malrik the Duke, then do whatever you want from that point on," he suggested.
Azaron met Asher’s gaze as he spoke with a smile, "How about I forcefully make you the Primarch?"
Asher shook his head as he replied, "No, thank you. Besides, I fail the first requirement of being a Crownstar Life Ranker to even think of inheriting the title." His tone was indifferent as he shrugged.
His eyes shifted towards the papers as he wondered what the difference between Azaron and a corporate slave was. Although being called a Duke was fun and all, but no thank you.
Azaron simply gave a light smile as he spoke, "Zarek told me you were spending three months in training. How did your three months turn into nine months?"
"Eight months and two weeks," Asher immediately corrected.
"Sure, eight months and two weeks. Still doesn’t answer my question," Azaron replied without breaking eye contact.
Asher stayed silent for a moment, then sighed as he spoke, "I had a lot of things to train, and the saying that the stronger one gets, the harder it is to progress doesn’t describe the process of training to get stronger remotely enough." He shook his head as he finished speaking.
