Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World Chapter 4 - Spatial Farm

Previously on Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World...
Zhao Hai awakened to find that Adam's memories had completely merged with his own, confirming his transmigration into a new life as Adam Buda. Though initially shocked, he accepted his situation, realizing he was now in a place known as the Black Waste, far from the comforts of his previous life. His personal butler, Green, expressed concern and provided crucial information about their meager circumstances and the abandoned mansion they inhabited. Despite the challenges ahead, Zhao Hai's resolve strengthened as he contemplated the potential of their land and the task of proving himself worthy of his new identity.

“Spatial Farm program initiating. Connecting to network... connection successful. Operating normally. Scanning for host... host conditions inspected and verified as normal. Binding to host. Your current level is one. System rewards: five hundred gold and six bags of hay seeds. Each bag is sufficient for one field. You have currently reclaimed one plot of land, measuring ten fields in area, level zero. Required seeds may be purchased in the shop, and harvests can be exchanged for gold there. Due to a network malfunction, you may freely enter the farm but can only connect to the server; connection to friends is unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Zhao Hai stood frozen, dazed by the words. It felt as though he were trapped in a dream; the situation seemed utterly surreal.

However, that voice had been unmistakable. Had he been back on Earth, Zhao Hai would have dismissed it as a ridiculous prank. But this world was different. If he could come to terms with the fact that he had transmigrated, why would he doubt this?

Immediately, Zhao Hai commanded in his mind: “Enter farm.”

The moment the thought finished, a flash of light blinded him. When his vision cleared, the castle was gone, replaced by a vast, open clearing. The space was significant, covering roughly two-thirds of a hectare of tilled earth. Brand new shovels stood upright in the ground at the edge of the field. Nearby, a small spring bubbled beside a bucket. A modest thatched hut stood on the property, flanked by a small dog house on its left. Beneath the hut's window sat two bottles labeled ‘insecticide’ and ‘herbicide.’ A basket marked ‘collection’ rested beside them. To the right of the main hut was a smaller structure labeled ‘barn.’ Beyond these features, a dense, impenetrable fog walled off the rest of the world. Only the clearing and the hut remained visible.

The sight was incredibly familiar to Zhao Hai. Aside from the missing background graphics, this was exactly like the game he knew best: Farm Game!

Unlike many other shut-ins, Zhao Hai’s passions lay in reading and writing novels. Even if his success was modest, it was a pursuit he loved, and he rarely bothered with video games.

Eventually, friends had convinced him to try Farm Game. It was simple and didn't demand much of his schedule. He had kept up with it over time, reaching level twenty-seven. While not a top-tier rank, he had cleared all his land and was just beginning to explore the pasture mechanics.

Every beginner in that game was granted the same starting scene and thatched hut. What Zhao Hai saw now was an exact replica of that starting point. The only difference was that before, he had viewed it through a monitor; now, he was standing physically inside the space.

Still stunned, Zhao Hai didn't know how to react. He instinctively knelt down and ran his fingers through the dirt.

As he gripped the earth, a voice echoed in his mind: “Spatial soil, level one. Already tilled and ready for planting. Crop growth speed is increased tenfold. Soil can be taken out of the space for use; it can improve the quality of external land.”

Zhao Hai’s shock turned into pure joy. Eager to learn more about this mysterious realm, he rushed to the spring and dipped his hand into the water. As expected, a notification appeared: “Spatial spring water, level one. Potable. Provides restorative effects to the human body and can be used for irrigation. Increases crop growth speed tenfold. Can be taken out of the space for use; it can improve the quality of external land.”

The sudden windfall of luck left Zhao Hai feeling lightheaded. With his hand still submerged in the cool water, he stared blankly, a silly grin spreading across his face as he forgot to even move.

After a long moment, he pulled himself together and stood up, laughing loudly. “You crafty Heavens! I never imagined you would be this generous! Hahaha! Good! This is excellent!”

Zhao Hai understood his situation perfectly. On the Ark Continent, his inability to practice battle Qi or magic meant he was destined for a life of mediocrity. He would have never been able to settle the score for Adam. But this space changed everything. Even if direct vengeance remained out of reach, he could ensure the Buda clan flourished once more. That, in itself, would be a form of revenge for Adam.

Once he regained his composure, he hurried to the shovel by the field, curious if the tools possessed the same magical properties as the game.

The moment he touched the tool, the voice returned: “Shovel, tool, level one. Capable of automatic tilling. Operating capacity: ten fields per day. Can be taken out of the space for use.”

Zhao Hai beamed and moved to the bucket. A prompt triggered upon contact: “Bucket, tool, level one. Capable of automatic irrigation. Operating capacity: ten fields per day. Can be taken out of the space for use.”

“Insecticide, agricultural chemical, toxic, level one. Capable of automatic pest elimination. Not for human consumption. Can be taken out of the space. Quantity: infinite.”

“Herbicide, agricultural chemical, toxic, level one. Capable of automatic weed elimination. Not for human consumption. Can be taken out of the space. Quantity: infinite.”

“Basket, tool, level one. Capable of automatic harvesting. Operating capacity: ten fields per day. Can be taken out of the space for use. Harvested crops are automatically moved to the barn.”

After checking the outdoor items, Zhao Hai realized that while this place mirrored the game, it was actually superior in many ways.

With a heart full of excitement, he stepped inside the thatched hut. It was small but fully equipped with a hay-covered bed, a table, four chairs, a cupboard, a stove, and a set of dishes. Most notably, a device resembling a computer monitor sat near the head of the bed.

Zhao Hai approached the screen and saw it was active. It displayed only two icons: “Shop” and “Farm Introduction.”

Desperate to understand how this farm existed, he immediately clicked on the introduction.

When his hand touched the icon, it transformed into a beam of white light, flooding his mind with information. After taking some time to process the data, he pieced together the origin of the farm.

He had been playing Farm Game on his computer right before arriving in this world. Somehow, the game had been pulled along with him during his transmigration. It seemed the farm had evolved during the journey, retaining its original functions while becoming even more potent. It had transformed into a system bound directly to Zhao Hai.

This meant that while he couldn't connect to Earth’s servers, he had full control over the farm’s features, including the shop. He could buy items with gold, sell his crops, and move items freely between the farm and the outside world.

At the moment, the farm was only level one, leaving many features locked. By leveling up, he could unlock pastures and expand his acreage indefinitely. Performing tasks like tilling, watering, and using pesticides would earn him experience. Furthermore, he could bring external items into the space to trigger "evolution," which would also help him level up. Essentially, Zhao Hai could use the unique resources of the Ark Continent to upgrade his space. He had acquired a truly God-tier cheat.

Zhao Hai couldn't stop himself from grinning. With such a powerful tool, achieving prosperity would be easy, and restoring the Buda clan—or even seeking revenge for Adam—was no longer a pipe dream. A bold strategy began to take shape in his mind.

He could use the magical soil and water from the space to revitalize the barren land of the Black Waste. It would be like having his own massive estate. Once the land was productive, he could hire an army of followers, become a powerful lord, and eventually settle the Buda clan's debts...

Eventually, Zhao Hai snapped out of his daydream, shaking his head and laughing at his own ambition. He hadn't even started yet; it was too early to think about revenge. He needed to explore his new domain more thoroughly first.

With that thought, he tapped the shop icon. A prompt immediately asked: “Welcome to the Spatial Shop. What would you like to buy?”

The screen displayed various Earth crops, complete with their prices and level requirements. Seeing that it was identical to the game, Zhao Hai quickly closed the window and looked around the room again.

He walked over to the cupboard, suspecting it was more than just furniture. He was disappointed when touching it triggered no response. Confused, he pulled the doors open and found three items inside: a cloth pouch, a short cane topped with a carved insect, and another cane topped with a carved blade of grass. He recognized them instantly.

He grabbed the pouch first, and a prompt appeared: “Purse. Can hold an infinite amount of gold. Current balance: five hundred. Due to your low level, gold cannot be removed from the space.”

Zhao Hai paused, then felt a surge of hope. Though the explanation was brief, it revealed a lot. The purse functioned like a spatial storage bag, though currently limited to currency. However, the most important detail was the level restriction. If he couldn't take gold out now because his level was too low, it implied that at a higher level, he could withdraw the gold for use in the outside world. If that were true, his future was set.
