Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World Chapter 2273: Knocking on the Door

Previously on Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World...
Zhao Hai returned to Demonheart City in disguise through a transmission formation and sought out Shopkeeper Yun at the Abundance Hall. After revealing his true identity, Zhao Hai informed Shopkeeper Yun that he had obtained a Bloodless Command Token for the Forbidden Path Sect and wished to go into seclusion until the sect opened its gates. He then returned to the Tyrant Blade Sect and reported his recent adventures and breakthrough to the Earth Monarch Stage to the Yin and Yang Elders, including his experience in Gale Canyon and absorbing blood qi from Sacred Elephant Mountain. Zhao Hai plans to join the Forbidden Path Sect to further cultivate his body.

Zhao Hai sat in silence within the chamber provided by Shopkeeper Yun. He was truly entering a period of seclusion this time. His body had absorbed a massive quantity of blood qi from the Mountain of the Sacred Elephant, where countless generations of Crazed Elephants had perished, leaving behind a dense concentration of essence. Although Zhao Hai had utilized this blood qi to break through to the Earth Monarch Realm, a significant portion remained undigested within him.

Spiritual Qi and Blood Qi function differently. While absorbing spiritual qi directly increases one’s power, blood qi is more difficult to refine. Its primary purpose is the tempering of the physical body. In the world of Cultivation, a sufficiently toughened physique allows one's internal qi to become even more devastating.

The most efficient way to process blood qi is through body cultivation methods. Zhao Hai possessed an overwhelming reserve of this essence, but it could not be integrated instantly. He needed to enter seclusion to focus on his body cultivation techniques to fully master the energy.

If Zhao Hai could successfully harness the blood qi left by thousands of crazed elephants, his physical might would reach a level beyond comprehension. Ordinary cultivators would find his strength unimaginable. Upon total absorption, he might very well become the most powerful disciple within the Forbidden Path Sect.

However, it was imperative that he finish this process before joining the Forbidden Path Sect. If left unrefined, the blood qi would gradually dissipate. It would be similar to an athlete who stops training; the muscles they worked so hard to build would eventually waste away.

Time slipped by as Zhao Hai remained in deep seclusion. While he occasionally took breaks to visit Laura and the others, the vast majority of his time was dedicated to his Cultivation.

Two months later, the atmosphere in Demonheart City grew vibrant. In just three days, the Forbidden Path Sect was scheduled to open its gates for recruitment.

The Forbidden Path Sect had lowered its entry requirements for this cycle. Seeking to bolster their ranks, they aimed to gather a massive number of disciples. As long as a candidate wasn't too old, the Sect would take them in. Even the less talented could serve in the outer sect as cannon fodder when the inevitable wars began.

Consequently, Demonheart City was teeming with cultivators, most of whom were rogue cultivators at the Soul Fusion or Earth Monarch Stage.

In contrast to the external chaos, the Blood Knife Gang remained quiet. As a minor power in Demonheart City, they were largely overlooked. Due to their limited strength, the gang maintained a low profile. Even with the backing of Ling Dong and the Abundance Hall, they chose to remain discreet.

Some eyes had turned toward the Blood Knife Gang after rumors spread that one of their members held a Bloodless Command Token. However, because the gang stayed out of the spotlight, those observers soon lost interest.

Inside his room, Liu Zhen paced with a look of deep concern. Yu Linfeng sat across from him, his expression equally grim. After a moment, Liu Zhen let out a heavy sigh. “Do you think Little Ling is alright? Why hasn't he returned? The Forbidden Path Sect opens in three days. He really should be here by now.”

Yu Linfeng looked anxious as well. “I’ve dispatched men to meet him, but there hasn’t been a single sign of his return. If Little Ling doesn't show up, the Blood Knife Gang will be in grave danger.”

Liu Zhen sighed again. “I never expected Little Ling to obtain a Bloodless Command Token. That token has made him a target for everyone. I can deal with the pressure, but I just hope he’s safe. If something has happened to him, all our hard work will be for nothing.”

Yu Linfeng countered, “Little Ling must still be alive. If he wasn't, the experts from the Forbidden Path Sect wouldn't still be guarding us. They are only here because of him. If he were dead, they would have abandoned us long ago.”

Suddenly, a member of the gang rushed to the door and shouted, “Gang Master, Zhao Ling has returned!”

Liu Zhen and Yu Linfeng froze for a second before jumping to their feet and rushing outside. They were met by a beaming gang member. Liu Zhen grabbed him, asking, “You said Little Ling is back? Where is he?”

“Hahaha, Big Brother Liu! I’m back!” Zhao Hai’s laughter rang out as he walked into the courtyard. He gave a respectful cupped-fist salute to the two men. “Big Brother Liu, Big Brother Yu, I have returned.”

Liu Zhen was visibly moved. He stepped forward and gripped Zhao Hai’s shoulders tightly. “It’s good that you’re back. Come, let’s go inside and talk.” Zhao Hai nodded and followed the two leaders into the room.

Once they were settled, Liu Zhen regained his composure. He observed Zhao Hai and remarked, “You’ve reached the Earth Monarch Stage. Excellent. This will certainly make the Forbidden Path Sect view you with more respect.”

Zhao Hai gave a thin smile. “My journey to Gale Canyon was very productive. It allowed me to make a breakthrough.”

Liu Zhen was confused. “Gale Canyon? I thought you were in seclusion at the auction house? When did you go to Gale Canyon?”

Zhao Hai explained with a smile, “I was worried about being tracked, so I secretly went to Gale Canyon. I wasn't actually inside the auction house; I spent the entire time in the canyon.”

Liu Zhen and Yu Linfeng nodded in understanding. “I see. We heard rumors that you traded for a Bloodless Command Token to enter the Forbidden Path Sect. Is that the truth?”

Zhao Hai confirmed it. “When I left my clan, I took a stalk of Resurrection Grass with me. You know its value. Since I couldn’t use its full potential myself, I traded it for the token. The grass is rare, but a spot in the Forbidden Path Sect is far more important to my future.”

The two leaders agreed. While Resurrection Grass was a treasure, it often brought disaster to rogue cultivators. Trading it for a position in the Forbidden Path Sect was a wise move. Within the Sect, he could find better cultivation methods and resources, but most importantly, he would have a powerful organization backing him.

Zhao Hai looked at them and added, “I’ve actually been back in Demonheart City for a bit. I used the transmission formation at Windchase Town and stayed at the Abundance Hall. I figured if I returned to the gang too early, it might attract unwanted trouble.”

Liu Zhen and Yu Linfeng were surprised. “But now that you’ve returned, won't people find out?”

Zhao Hai nodded confidently. “Don't worry about it. Even if they know, there is nothing they can do. During my time at the Abundance Hall, I had several breakthroughs. My current combat power is not inferior to a typical Teleportation Stage Expert. If anyone tries to cause trouble, I won't hold back.”

Liu Zhen and Yu Linfeng stared at him in shock. They knew the massive divide between the Earth Monarch Realm and the Teleportation Stage. Crossing that gap was like a carp leaping over the dragon’s gate. To them, Zhao Hai reaching the Earth Monarch Stage was already a feat of luck; they couldn't believe he could challenge someone at the Teleportation Stage.

Suddenly, a roar like thunder erupted from outside. “Zhao Ling, come out and meet your death!” A crushing aura descended upon the Blood Knife Gang, one no weaker than Wang Da’s. It was clearly the presence of a Teleportation Stage Expert.

The faces of Liu Zhen and Yu Linfeng turned pale under the pressure. They stood up immediately, but Zhao Hai was faster. He blurred past the other gang members and moved to confront the intruder.

Two figures stood outside the headquarters: a man in his fifties and a youth in his twenties.

The elder cultivator was gaunt with a long face, tiny eyes, and a hooked nose, radiating a sinister energy. Beside him, the young man wore greedy green robes; his eyes were cold and piercing, resembling a venomous serpent.

The elder's shout had echoed through the streets, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers to see what was happening at the Blood Knife Gang.

The gang members were on high alert, drawing their weapons and watching the intruders warily. The newcomers merely looked back with mocking sneers.

Zhao Hai stepped forward and looked at the pair. “I am Zhao Ling. I don’t recall offending you, Senior. Why have you come to the Blood Knife Gang to threaten my life?”
