Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World Chapter 2272: Returning to the Tyrant Blade Sect

A brilliant flash of white light erupted from the transmission formation in Demonheart City, signaling the arrival of a traveler. In Demonheart City, such arrays are not found in every district. Only the first, second, and third cities possess transmission formations, while the fourth and fifth cities lack them entirely.
Furthermore, these transmission formations are strictly regulated. They are not accessible to the general public, being reserved exclusively for the cultivators of the Forbidden Path Sect and the most influential gangs within the city walls.
In the first city, the restriction is absolute; only members of the Forbidden Path Sect and elite gang elites are permitted to use the array.
While the transmission formations in the second and third cities are technically open to everyone in Demonheart City, they are rarely utilized by commoners. This is not due to a lack of status, but rather the exorbitant cost. A single activation requires 10 jade essences. Though it might seem like a small sum to some, it is a fortune for rogue cultivators. Such a price could purchase a windchasing horse capable of serving them for over a decade. Consequently, gangs only resort to the transmission formation for matters of extreme urgency, preferring their mounts for everyday travel.
The figure who stepped off the platform moved with a slow, deliberate pace. Dressed in nondescript black robes, he possessed an ordinary appearance that failed to draw any attention.
This traveler was, of course, Zhao Hai. He had made his way back to Demonheart City via the transmission formation located inside the Windchase Town auction house.
Because the Forbidden Path Sect had yet to officially open its gates, Zhao Hai kept his return a secret. By adopting a different face, he ensured he could move through the city undetected. As far as the public was concerned, Zhao Hai was still deep in seclusion back in Windchase Town.
Zhao Hai decided against visiting the Blood Knife Gang for the time being. He was well aware of the many eyes watching the group. Even though Ling Dong had issued a warning to protect them, Zhao Hai’s presence would only invite unnecessary trouble. Instead, he set his sights on the Abundance Hall.
The Abundance Hall operated under the banner of the Long Clan. Since the Long Clan held no ambitions within the Demon Blood Realm, and given their prestigious standing, Zhao Hai believed he would find safety there. No one in Demonheart City would be foolish enough to offend them.
The Abundance Hall remained as lively and crowded as ever. With the Forbidden Path Sect preparing to accept new disciples, rogue cultivators were flooding the city in search of fortune. This influx of people had caused the city's population to swell, driving up demand for goods. Thanks to its impeccable reputation, business at the Abundance Hall was booming.
Due to this massive wave of newcomers, the fifth city—which was once sparsely inhabited—was now nearly at full capacity.
The members of the Blood Knife Gang were now realizing how brilliant their choice of headquarters had been. Their remote location kept them away from the prying eyes of the new arrivals, ensuring the gang's safety during this chaotic period.
Recently, Demonheart City had been plagued by violent turf wars. Several gangs, some even more powerful than the Blood Knife Gang, had already been wiped out in the struggle for territory.
Violence was strictly prohibited within Demonheart City proper, so these disputes were settled beyond the city limits. Nevertheless, many smaller factions had been forcibly evicted from their holdings and driven out of the city entirely.
The impending opening of the sect had effectively reset the power balance of Demonheart City. Numerous established but fading powers were being pushed out to make room for the new order.
The Blood Knife Gang avoided this fate entirely. Their obscure location meant they were largely ignored. Of course, their survival wasn't just luck; they enjoyed the backing of the Abundance Hall and the protection of Ling Dong’s reputation. Ling Dong’s social circle included several inner disciples, and with such influence behind them, no one dared to harass the Blood Knife Gang.
Seeing that the Blood Knife Gang was secure, Zhao Hai put his worries aside. He was confident in their ability to maintain their position.
As Zhao Hai stepped through the entrance of the Abundance Hall, he was immediately met by a shop assistant. Not recognizing the disguised Zhao Hai, the assistant gave a polite bow and greeted him like any other customer: “Welcome to the Abundance Hall. How may I assist you today?”
Zhao Hai offered a subtle smile and replied, “I have several items I wish to trade, but I must speak with your shopkeeper to discuss them.”
The assistant paused to study Zhao Hai for a moment before answering, “Very well. Please wait in the private lounge while I go and fetch the shopkeeper.” Zhao Hai nodded and followed the assistant to the waiting area. After being served tea, he was left alone as the assistant went to find Shopkeeper Yun.
It wasn't long before Shopkeeper Yun entered the room. Upon seeing Zhao Hai, a look of confusion crossed his face. The man looked vaguely familiar, yet he couldn't quite place him, which bothered him immensely.
Despite his uncertainty, Shopkeeper Yun offered a polite bow. “May I ask what items you are looking to trade? I am the manager of this Abundance Hall.”
Zhao Hai glanced at the assistant and then back to Shopkeeper Yun. “Shopkeeper, I must ask that your assistant leave us. Our conversation must be private.”
Shopkeeper Yun’s eyes sharpened at those words. This stranger knew his name was Yun, which confirmed they had met before. He searched his memory, which was usually flawless, but still couldn't identify the man.
With a wave of his hand, Shopkeeper Yun dismissed the assistant. Once the door was closed, he turned to Zhao Hai. “Mister, perhaps you can show me these trade items now?”
Zhao Hai smiled as his physical form began to shift subtly. His facial features rearranged themselves until his true appearance was revealed to Shopkeeper Yun. He cupped his fists and said, “I hope Shopkeeper Yun can forgive the deception. I did not want my return to be known, so I traveled in disguise.”
Shopkeeper Yun’s eyes widened in shock before he broke into a warm grin. “Little Hai! It’s really you. Haha! There is nothing to forgive. I am simply glad to see you back. I heard rumors that you secured a Bloodless Command Token—is that true?”
Zhao Hai nodded. “Yes, I won it at an auction. However, because of my unique circumstances, I can only officially join the sect once they open their gates. I cannot return to the Blood Knife Gang right now because they are being watched too closely.”
Shopkeeper Yun nodded in understanding. “That is a wise move. If it’s unsafe to go back, then stay away. What are your plans for now?”
Zhao Hai smiled faintly. “I was hoping you could provide a place for me to stay. I intend to enter seclusion for a while. Once the Forbidden Path Sect opens its gates, I will make my move.”
“That is easily done,” Shopkeeper Yun replied with a smile. “I will prepare a room for you immediately.” Zhao Hai cupped his fists and reactivated his disguise. Shopkeeper Yun couldn't help but look on in amazement as Zhao Hai’s face transformed once more.
After settling into the room provided by Shopkeeper Yun, Zhao Hai informed him that his seclusion was beginning. He then set up protective formations around the room before secretly returning to the Tyrant Blade Sect.
The Tyrant Blade Sect was thriving. They had successfully recruited more disciples than the Forbidden Path Sect, and even Yanyue Peak was seeing new residents.
In the past, Yanyue Peak had been nearly derelict. It only began to regain some life after Zhao Hai moved there. Since then, more people had followed. Because the peak had been neglected for so long, its facilities were not as developed as the other peaks.
However, with the Tyrant Blade Sect’s recent recruitment drive, Yanyue Peak was finally being renovated. New disciples were being assigned there, bringing the population up to par with the rest of the sect.
Even with the increased population, Zhao Hai’s residence remained quiet. This was because the Yin-Yang Elders had taken up residence there and were now overseeing the peak. With elders of their stature present, the sect wouldn't dream of sending random disciples to Courtyard Number 52.
The moment Zhao Hai stepped into his courtyard, the two elders sensed him and came out to greet him. The Yin Elder smiled and remarked, “Excellent. You’ve reached the Earth Monarch Stage. It’s clear you haven't been slacking off.”
Zhao Hai grinned and replied, “I wouldn't dare. Master, I had a fortunate encounter that allowed me to break through. However, I feel I haven't fully tapped into my potential yet, so I came back to ask for guidance.”
The Yin Elder nodded. “Let’s talk inside.” The three of them moved into the living room and took their seats.
After a robot served them tea, the Yin Elder looked at Zhao Hai. “Tell us everything that has happened.”
Zhao Hai nodded and began his report. He detailed how he acquired the Bloodless Command Token and described his journey through Gale Canyon. He also spoke of Sacred Elephant Mountain and how he absorbed the blood qi found there.
Upon hearing his tale, the two elders could only marvel at his fortune. The Yin Elder looked at him and said, “Don't you need to enter seclusion to fully integrate that blood qi? That would be the best course of action for you.”
Zhao Hai answered, “I only returned to check in with you both. I plan to head back to Demonheart Mountain for seclusion before officially joining the Forbidden Path Sect. Since they specialize in Body Cultivation, I can use their techniques and resources to refine the blood qi from Sacred Elephant Mountain. By then, my physical body should be far superior to ordinary body cultivators. I might even become a core disciple of the Forbidden Path Sect.”
The Yin Elder smiled at his words. “It’s good that you have a strategy. We won't stand in your way. Just remember to be cautious with your actions within the Forbidden Path Sect. They are a Great Sect of the True Spirit Realm, after all, and a vital force against the Ghost Cultivators.”
