"We are the Queen’s Guards, her Divine Creations and the Guardians of the Colosseum City. And yes, we are Spirits. Although we were unable to inherit her full divinity, we are partially divine spirits ourselves. We are commonly known as Blue Fire Spirits."
"Ooohh!" Elayne’s eyes sparkled with genuine fascination as she leaned forward. "That’s so incredible... so you’re basically her children!"
"I... suppose that is one way to put it..." the guard sighed, his blue-flamed form flickering slightly as if embarrassed by the enthusiastic description. "Anyway! You’re an Undead! Are you really the leader of this group?!"
"Forgive her, she’s so talkative, isn’t she?" Marble sighed with a small, knowing smile. "I am the one who brought them here." She raised a polished plaque that glowed faintly with official markings. "I’m a regular of the place."
"Oh, Lady Marble!" the Guard’s tone immediately softened as he recognized her.
It turned out that she was a well-known Alchemist who sold incredible products whenever she visited the city. Her name already carried weight among the population, and many residents looked forward to her rare appearances.
"It’s been some time since we last saw you. Is the city above doing well?" he asked with polite curiosity.
It seemed that the rumor about what had happened to the garden had not yet spread this far. "Ah... well... it’s complicated," Marble answered carefully. "Anyway, these young people... they’re with me."
"Have they come to participate in the tournament?" the guard asked, glancing at Elayne and the others with renewed interest. "Then I would strongly suggest you hurry. The Entrance Matches are about to begin soon!"
"Oh, is that so? I guess we’re a bit late!" Marble said with a light laugh. "Here’s something for the trouble." She pressed a few coins into the guard’s hand, and with his approval the group quickly ran inside the city. Elayne looked back at the guard one last time, feeling a faint but warm connection forming between them.
It seemed she had spoken with him just long enough to create a small bond between a Druid and a Spirit, something that came surprisingly easily to her. Although the guard was not entirely sure what had happened, he did feel a little swooned by her presence and sincerity.
"Maybe befriending these spirits could help us navigate the city more easily or even arrange a meeting with their mother," Elayne thought to herself with growing excitement. "Oh! Oh wow, this is the city?!"
As they stepped fully inside, she gasped along with everyone else. The sight that greeted them was truly breathtaking. The Colosseum City stretched as far as the eye could see in every direction. No matter where one looked there was always something new and wondrous to take in, something that demanded attention and admiration without end.
People who had come from all corners of the Labyrinth, and even from places far beyond it, wandered the busy streets. They stared in open amazement at the giant pillars of pure blue fire that rose toward the dark sky, at the massive buildings constructed from gleaming metal and dark stone, and at the countless stalls selling every kind of product imaginable.
Enormous markets bustled with constant life and noise. Merchants sold incredible goods gathered from across the entire Netherworld — weapons of every shape and size, finely crafted armor, rare materials, and even strange foods. Some items were extremely expensive, while others remained affordable even for the poorest visitor, though the quality of the cheaper goods was often questionable at best.
Swindlers and scammers hid in plain sight among the crowds. Thieves targeted the wealthier and less careful travelers, only to be swiftly caught by the tall, heavily armored members of Queen Spectrai’s Guard. These Living Armors were fueled by the Queen’s own blue flames and given independent life — her own children, as many citizens claimed with pride.
They worked tirelessly to keep the city safe and the eternal flames burning strong. At the very center of this massive metropolis stood a colossal furnace, an ever-burning blue flame that warmed the entire city and made the climate comfortable even for the weakest goblin or frailest spirit.
Within this enormous furnace rose a majestic castle. Its architecture seemed to combine the ancient grandeur of Persia with the solid strength of Rome. Behind the castle stretched the gigantic Colosseum itself, allowing the Queen — the Divine Spirit, the undisputed Ruler of this land who was worshipped as a living goddess — to watch over every game from her elevated throne.
Warriors roared with battle-lust as they fought in organized groups. The appearance of the Colosseum floor was ever-shifting under the Queen’s will. One moment it resembled ancient ruins, the next it became a vast shifting desert, then a volcanic landscape of bubbling lava, or a ghostly forest shrouded in thick mist. Queen Spectria’s Divine Powers as a Divine Spirit and daughter of the God of Forging, Hephaestus — a lineage she never hid from anyone — granted her these incredible abilities.
Because of this, her city and her Colosseum were widely known as the greatest in all of the Netherworld. Even though the location remained somewhat hidden, people still traveled from distant Zones of the Netherworld, coming from farther away than most could imagine.
Prestigious members of Noble Races belonging to the richest and most powerful families regularly visited the city to watch the arena battles. Their presence brought both enormous wealth and even greater prestige to the already famous Colosseum City.
Deep within the heart of the furnace, the shifting blue flames blazed endlessly inside a gigantic pool of pure fire. Divine spirit energy and nether energy fused together seamlessly in that sacred place. Beneath the sea of blue fire, a massive alchemical cauldron slowly exhaled waves of potent alchemical essence into the surrounding air.
And from these flames, someone emerged as if she was taking a bath, a gorgeous woman made of blue fire, with a well-defined, curvaceous silhouette, a large bust, wide hips, and long, blazing hair.
