Elayne’s sharp senses flared, her eyes widening in disbelief. Noah had vanished. That preceding explosion was merely a diversionary fragment.
"?!"
Her gaze, along with Livia’s and Rider’s, was instantly drawn skyward. A sudden, all-encompassing darkness descended upon the entire area as Noah’s immense power permeated everything.
Concurrently, colossal black specters and swarms of blood bats erupted from all directions, converging on Elayne, Olivia, and Rider.
"W-What is this?!" Elayne cried out, bewildered. "He can manifest such a vast domain?!"
Not long ago, Elayne had considered Domains to be exceedingly rare and challenging creations. After all, establishing her own domain within her family’s backyard had consumed a considerable amount of time.
However, as she ascended to higher levels of power and encountered significantly more formidable opponents, she began to grasp that Domain Creation was merely the initial stage toward something far grander.
And with it came a multitude of exclusive abilities bestowed upon the user upon the formation of their Domain.
The most evident advantage was a substantial enhancement across all combat parameters.
In that precise moment, Elayne was violently propelled downwards as Noah drove his foot deep into her chest, his intent clear: to obliterate her spirit core.
Her body ripped through three structures, reducing them to rubble before crashing onto the pavement below. Fiery red flames and abyssal shadows exploded outwards.
Olivia descended into panic, while Rider unleashed his Aura of Divinity, desperately attempting to fend off the encroaching horde of creatures.
"Damn it all, he’s trapped us completely this time! That bloodsucker is no pushover!" Rider growled, frustration evident. "He certainly ranks among the most potent! And this Domain... what exactly is it?! I can’t seem to evade the attacks. They invariably strike us! Our only options are to erect barriers or obliterate them, but escape is impossible?!"
"It’s an Advanced Domain Ability!" Olivia explained to Rider, whose understanding of Modern Age Magic was somewhat archaic. "Based on my research, only those who have attained the rank of Grand Magus can accomplish such a feat...!"
"Grand Magus?!"
"Advanced Domains are essentially bespoke spells interwoven with one’s Internal Magic Aura, subsequently embedded into the very fabric of space and sealed by a protective barrier," Olivia elaborated, unleashing a barrage of spells that annihilated the hellish entities assailing them from every angle. "They ensnare adversaries, placing them at a critical disadvantage. His parameters must have surged by at least tenfold! And that’s merely the outset. Advanced Domains are notorious for a single, devastating characteristic... inescapable assaults that come endlessly, just like these!"
"Hah, thank you kindly for the explanation, but that hardly aids our predicament! How do we even extricate ourselves from this place?!" Rider demanded.
"We could attempt to breach the barrier from within, but it presents an exceedingly difficult challenge," Olivia responded. "Someone on the outside could shatter the domain more readily, targeting its weaker points. Alternatively... we must incapacitate or eliminate the master of the domain...!"
"Hah, that won’t be simple with all these pesky creatures swarming us!" Rider clicked his tongue. "What? You intend to take charge, Ninsun?! But it's far too perilous— What do you mean I am weaker?!"
"...?" Olivia suddenly realized Rider was likely communicating with Caster through their shared spiritual connection.
"Very well...!" Rider sighed, his resignation palpable. "But don't you dare perish on me, understand?! Master, she is initiating her move. She has prepared a significant spell targeting you!"
"Ninsun?!"
"She possesses the capability to shatter the domain!" Rider announced with a grin. "However, you’ll need to facilitate her approach to the vampire...!"
"Certainly!" Olivia affirmed, placing her hand upon the Anzu Bird. "Allow me to borrow this magnificent creature then!"
"...Huh?!"
Rider watched, stunned, as arcane circuits briefly enveloped the Anzu Bird. From Olivia’s outstretched hand, dozens of intricate runes and formations coalesced, merged, and took the form of a semi-translucent Anzu Bird.
It was an entirely magical construct, a perfect imitation of the summoned familiar belonging to a Heroic Spirit.
"W-What in the world...?! How did you manage such a feat?!"
"Did you truly believe I spent the entirety of the last week idly?!" Olivia bellowed, her voice ringing with determination. "Ever since my near-death encounter with Foreigner, I have dedicated myself to training day and night! While a week is a brief period, I have certainly acquired a few new tricks!"
"Hah, then attempt to replicate this as well!" Rider commanded, offering her his spear. "Can you manage it?"
"I shall endeavor to!" Olivia declared.
She touched the resplendently radiant and immensely powerful Spear of Blinding Sunlight, Shamash Uruk, extending her circuits across its formidable form.
What she was performing constituted a forbidden spell, one that exacted a heavy toll on a magician’s lifespan.
In her desperate pursuit of greater strength, Olivia had mastered a forbidden technique that allowed her Magic Circuits to expand externally, drawing upon her own life force as a consequence.
The more she employed this ability, the more her metabolic processes and cellular regeneration were accelerated, drastically reducing her overall life expectancy.
However, to her, such sacrifices held no consequence anymore.
Having technically experienced death once and subsequently being revived, Olivia’s perspective and resolve had undergone a profound transformation. Her very psyche had been altered alongside it.
There now burned within her a fire that transcended mere survival.
And that was...
Victory!
By delving into this forbidden incantation – one even her father had sternly warned her against ever researching – Olivia’s magical prowess took a significant leap.
She had, in fact, unlocked her very own unique spell.
Copy & Paste.
This ability allowed her to project her Magic Circuits onto any Magical Artifact or Construct, replicate its complete blueprint and functionalities, and then manifest it using her own Formation Magic.
The replicated formation would invariably fall short of the original’s might... however, it would prove sufficiently close.
And being close was precisely what she required.
Because Olivia was determined to go to any lengths to ensure she never experienced such a crushing defeat ever again.
"Then I'm switching!"
Rider vanished. As Olivia mounted the imitation Anzu Bird, the exquisite Caster materialized behind her, adopting a serene posture.
Her palms joined in a prayer as she invoked and expanded her Divine Domain.
"Master, guide me to him."
"Understood!"
Olivia swiftly recreated the Spear, Shamash Uruk, into existence.
A facsimile of the spear materialized, possessing merely a sliver of the true weapon’s formidable power. Yet, even a fragment of such an artifact wielded immense strength.
Her copy shimmered with a translucent azure luminescence, ablaze with digitized flames painstakingly constructed from layered and compressed magic circuits and interwoven formations.
"Let's go!"
The illusory Anzu Bird issued a shrill cry as Olivia expertly wielded the copied spear, summoning a second and then a third. These spectral lances continuously darted and spun around her and the bird.
Every approaching blood bat and shadow specter was immediately impaled and annihilated.
Gradually, painstakingly, they advanced closer to Noah.
Meanwhile, Elayne found herself utterly overwhelmed. Noah had escalated his power tenfold in a mere instant, and his foot remained firmly planted on her chest, crushing her form as if it were brittle kindling.
