With his sharp claws, Noah attempted to strike Elayne’s Holy Spirit Wood Blade, but his claws shattered the instant Elayne became serious. She then unleashed a flurry of a dozen rapid thrusting and stabbing attacks consecutively.
Elayne flawlessly recreated the skills and techniques she had mastered within Brand New Life Online. Her Heroic Legendary Sword Arts flowed seamlessly through her new divine form.
It felt akin to recalling distant memories. The more proficiently she employed these techniques, the more they surged through her very being, sharpening her senses and solidifying an undeniable truth in her mind.
Before her apotheosis into a goddess, she had once been a hero.
"Hmph."
Noah clicked his tongue. He had been engaging in trivial conversation as a diversionary tactic, having dispatched a fragment of himself to eliminate Olivia. However, that detached part of his essence had been intercepted by a blinding, sun-flare arrow and subsequently detonated in the distance.
"Bwahahaha! Did you genuinely believe that would succeed, you wretched bloodsucker?!"
A thunderous voice, imbued with divinity and the authority of an ancient monarch, reverberated through the air. It belonged to the father of Gilgamesh himself. Rider, astride his formidable Anzu Bird, had made his grand entrance.
Olivia was clinging to his back with all her might, visibly fraught with terror.
"Rider, why does such a relentless barrage of dreadful occurrences continue to befall me?"
"Well, Master, you were the one who willingly opted to partake in this conflict! Bwahahahahaha!"
As Rider's robust laughter echoed, Olivia gritted her teeth. She activated her enchanted accessories, summoned her grimoire which then orbited her, and simultaneously, twelve intricate conjuration circles materialized in the sky.
"Unlike our previous encounters, I am far more adequately prepared this time," Olivia declared. "Vampires are beings of immense power. Some accounts suggest they are humanity's inherent adversaries, brought into existence aeons ago to regulate our burgeoning population. They possess extraordinary capabilities, yet it requires a significant duration for these powers to reach full maturity. Based on his current strength, he must possess the cultivation level of at least a Blood Elder!"
"Mesopotamia was never entirely free from such abominations," Rider stated. "The Death Apostles, the most formidable among them, plagued my people from antiquity. However, Uruk stood resilient. We warriors, kings, and gods alike rose in defiance against the encroaching darkness. While the common populace believed them to be the creations of malevolent deities or spirits, the underlying truth was far more stark and severe. It wasn't until after my demise that I came to comprehend it. You are entirely correct, Master."
"What do you mean?" Olivia inquired, casting a glance at Rider while observing the vampire's violent engagement with Ruler. The air thickened with the intensified explosions of crimson flames and golden light erupting around them.
"Vampires are humanity's natural predators, birthed from this world itself with the purpose of curbing human proliferation," Rider elaborated. "No matter how many you eradicate, a portion of them will invariably resurface. However, in these modern epochs, it appears a select few have forged alliances with humanity, establishing a precarious coexistence. Even that alone carries inherent peril."
"...?"
"This particular vampire and his lineage are distinctly dissimilar to those associated with Assassin’s master," the ancient king continued. "Consequently, as they no longer actively prey upon humans, the planet itself has instigated the emergence of a new vampire lineage to assume dominion over this territory. The original progenitors have ceased fulfilling their designated purpose and have consequently renounced their intrinsic nature..."
"Are you suggesting that Noah is merely one among many?!" Olivia exclaimed in shock.
"Perhaps. Or perhaps not. Regardless, these contemptible beings possess distinct vulnerabilities," Rider asserted. "Although Noah appears capable of moving freely under the sun's rays, it is evident he is not entirely immune to its effects. He is actively shrouding himself in his own created shadows!"
"I comprehend..." Olivia responded, already channeling potent spells infused with the elements of Holy Light and Sunlight. "So, we engage?"
"Indeed. We shall fight in conjunction with Ruler," Rider proclaimed decisively. "This scoundrel's objective is unambiguous: he intends to annihilate us all! Our only recourse is to either vanquish him completely or sufficiently diminish his strength to compel his retreat!"
While their strategic discussion unfolded, Elayne continued her ferocious engagement with the Elder Vampire. Noah exhibited terrifying swiftness, phasing through the skies as he transmuted into ephemeral shadows and even fluid blood itself.
"You possess considerable might, Ruler. A genuine Divine Spirit. It is indeed an honor," Noah conveyed.
"Your attempts at facile conversation will prove ineffective against me, and dividing yourself into disparate fragments will yield no better results," Elayne retorted, her eyes radiating a brilliant golden and verdant luminescence. "I possess the same capability."
Back within the confines of the dilapidated structure, numerous fragments of Noah, resembling spectral shadow specters, surged through the museum's halls, their objective being to locate and eliminate the masters of Ruler and Assassin.
However, the very ground beneath them suddenly began to tremble violently. The multitude of Spirit Seeds, meticulously planted by Elayne earlier as a precautionary measure, commenced their germination.
The corpses of the monstrous entities they had previously slain were resurrected, now infused with potent spirits and verdant plant life. Colossal dinosaurs, animated statues, and paintings imbued with life charged ferociously at Noah's specter fragments, tearing them asunder and utterly derailing his meticulously crafted plans.
"Hm."
Noah offered a faint smile, acknowledging that Elayne was indeed no feeble adversary.
He then clawed at his own throat, piercing his neck.
"...?!"
Elayne's eyes shot open in utter disbelief.
In that instant, every analysis she had made of Noah using her divine eyes was rendered void. As if his very essence was being reshaped, the vampire channeled his internal blood to its most extreme limit, using his inner energy to propel it at speeds that defied comprehension.
This action unleashed a surge of power so colossal that only his extraordinarily resilient body could endure it.
And endure it, he did.
The seemingly infinite energy generated by boiling his blood and forcing it to surge without cessation fueled his evolution right there and then.
Thus, this malevolent technique, a creation and even a thought never before conceived by any vampire, was unleashed upon the world.
The heavens above bled crimson. The earth below transformed into a vast, dark abyss.
"Can you endure this, Ruler?"
"...!!!"
Elayne braced herself, her body fortified with Divine Authority as spiritual energy surged from the leylines beneath, empowering her.
And then...
With those two words, Elayne was confronted by an infinite expanse of crimson stars raining down upon her. They converged around her, detonating endlessly.
The surrounding world fractured. Buildings crumbled into dust. The pavement cracked and split apart. Fires raged uncontrollably.
It was absolute devastation.
Or rather, an apocalypse unleashed upon the face of the Earth.
Elayne's entire form began to rapidly disintegrate under the ceaseless barrage of explosions.
Yet, she closed her eyes and focused her will, finding herself adrift in an immeasurable ocean of shimmering colors.
This was her own Divine Spiritual Sea.
From within this sanctuary, she extended her hand.
Her Divine Treasures were unusable at this moment. They demanded an exorbitant amount of energy, and she had no desire to inflict further devastation.
Instead, she chose a different course.
She had been depending on her Treasures, much like Gaia...
But what about Elayne herself? Her personal history. Her unique imprint upon this world.
Did she possess sufficient "History" to forge something that was solely her own?
The answer manifested as...
