Big Shot's Reincarnation Sweeps the World Chapter 1

The biological parents of the orphan girl, who had been raised by the mute Grandmother Liu for over a decade, had finally arrived to reclaim their daughter!

The villagers had plenty to talk about as they gossiped during their downtime.

“Sigh, Grandma Liu never should have taken that girl in. We warned her it was a waste of resources and effort, but she refused to listen.”

“Do you think the girl is an ingrate?”

“Who can say? On one side, you have biological parents living in the city, and on the other, a poor mute from the countryside. Which would you pick? Poor Granny Liu! This lonely, helpless woman struggled for more than ten years to raise her, only for the girl to return to her family without paying back a bit of that kindness. All that hard work was for nothing.”

“It just goes to show, no good deed goes unpunished!”

Sheng Yang, the subject of their idle chatter, was standing just a short distance away.

Her waist-length black hair danced as the wind caught it.

With skin so fair it sparked envy and features that were exquisitely carved, she was a true beauty. She stood there in silence, looking indifferent yet stunning—so gorgeous she appeared almost intimidating.

The peasant women, who had been gossiping so cheerfully, froze the moment they spotted Sheng Yang and immediately scattered.

Without saying a word, Sheng Yang walked toward the house through the path the onlookers had cleared. Whispers followed in her wake.

“She was raised by a mute. Does that mean she’s mute too?”

“No, I’ve heard her. Her voice is actually quite lovely, though she rarely speaks.”

“What’s the point of raising her so well? In the end, someone else is going to reap the rewards of Granny Liu’s labor. Granny Liu is the one I pity. If she had married the girl off, she could have fetched at least ten thousand yuan in dowry, right?”

Sheng Yang passed through the small, tidy courtyard toward the main room. From a distance, she could see a gray-haired woman seated in the center, flanked by a man and a woman.

The couple stood up excitedly the moment they saw her, their eyes filled with expectation and glistening with unshed tears.

Seeing how beautiful their daughter was, it was clear how much devotion Grandma Liu had poured into her over the years. She must truly love Yangyang.

Sheng Yang, however, offered no emotional response, looking at them as if they were total strangers.

Feeling uneasy, Kang Weizhen didn't dare ask for too much. She raised a hand tentatively. “Yangyang, it’s been a long time.”

She didn't carry herself like a mother; instead, she seemed like a student who was incredibly nervous in front of her teacher.

Despite their blood relation, she understood how difficult it was for a teenager to suddenly accept a mother who appeared out of nowhere.

Sheng Yang merely arched her eyebrows.

She gave the couple a polite nod and walked over to Grandma Liu. Grandma Liu’s affectionate gaze settled on her, and she began using sign language to "speak" to the couple.

Just as Sheng Yang prepared to translate, Kang Weizhen spoke up, her voice trembling slightly. Choking back her sobs, she said, “I understand what you’re saying. We won’t rush this. We’ll be patient and won’t pressure Yangyang.”

Granny Liu offered a smile, her eyes appearing to see through everything.

The couple hadn't known any sign language when they arrived two days ago, but they were already able to understand it now.

Grandma Liu gently squeezed Sheng Yang’s hand before letting go to gesture again.

For the sake of Sheng Yang’s future, she consented to let them take her back, provided they treated her well.

Suddenly, the couple bowed low. Grandma Liu tried to stop them from kneeling, but being mute, she struggled to express herself. The pair insisted on kowtowing three times, hitting the floor so hard their foreheads turned red.

“I know we are being disrespectful by taking her. Thank you for raising Yangyang all these years; we will bring her back to visit frequently. From this day on, you are Yangyang’s grandmother.” Sheng You, a man in his forties who had seen much of the world, looked at Sheng Yang with red, solemn eyes. “We weren't there for Yangyang’s past, but we will use everything we have to make it up to her now.”

Outside the gate, the villagers continued to watch, gossiping about how foolish Grandma Liu was for forcing Sheng Yang to go with her parents.

“I bet they abandoned her just to try for a son. Now that she’s grown, they’ve come to claim the prize!”

“Sigh, Grandma Liu is truly a fool. She’s lived a difficult life only for this.”

“Tsk tsk, she ends up with nothing—no girl and no money. Why did she put herself through all that trouble?”

At that moment, two luxury cars pulled up to the entrance. The villagers who recognized the brands gasped in shock. Even though the cars weren't theirs, it seemed a crying shame to see such expensive vehicles parked in the muddy ruts of the road.
