“I am the queen, confident and radiant, if you...”

On the third floor of the villa, Su Yan hummed a tune as she pulled her silver suitcase down the stairs.

“Su Yan, are you done? Is it fun to run away from home?” On the second floor, Wei Shani yelled out sarcastically.

Su Yan paid her no mind, not even bothering to glance in her direction. While Wei Shani was Wei Zhou’s elder sister, she had never once addressed Su Yan as sister-in-law throughout their three years of marriage.

The path between sworn enemies is always a narrow one. Just as Su Yan reached the living room on the first floor, she found herself colliding with Wei Zhou’s mother, Zhong Cuiping.

“I can’t believe this. How did the Wei Family end up with a daughter-in-law like you, dragging a luggage and running away from home every single day? If you’re not tired, we are thoroughly sick of this!”

Su Yan paused, her face a canvas of emotions, displaying both disgust and a profound sense of helplessness.

For three years, she had been married to Wei Zhou and had endured constant bullying from the Wei Family. Being ordered around daily and deliberately made to suffer were common occurrences orchestrated by Zhong Cuiping.

In the past, when confronted by her overbearing mother-in-law, Su Yan would have readily accepted the scolding and desperately tried to appease Zhong Cuiping, fearing she would fail to meet the expectations of a daughter-in-law.

However, things were different now. She had resolved to depart from the Wei Family and sever ties with that 'blockhead' Wei Zhou. The man she had harbored a crush on for seven years was no longer desired. This sentiment extended to the elder matriarch as well.

Su Yan was no longer the weakling she once was.

“If you’re tired, go back to your room and rest. I never asked you to see me off. You can rest assured, because from today onwards, you won’t be tired anymore. I won’t be returning to the Wei Family!”

Su Yan’s gaze was icy. Her customary gentleness and compliance had vanished, leaving her appearing like an entirely different individual.

Zhong Cuiping’s brow furrowed deeply. This was the first time Su Yan had ever spoken back to her, and she found it utterly unacceptable, her anger simmering within.

“Insolence! Su Yan, how dare you speak to me in such a manner? Is this how a daughter-in-law is supposed to behave?”

Previously, whenever she incurred her mother-in-law’s wrath, Su Yan would promptly offer apologies and devise ways to placate her.

Su Yan let out a cold laugh.

“Insolence?” Su Yan retorted with an air of arrogance, “Perhaps it should be interpreted as me learning from my elders!”

Su Yan casually brushed back her hair and fixed Zhong Cuiping with a frigid stare.

Zhong Cuiping pointed a trembling finger at Su Yan, her face flushed with rage. “How dare you, Su Yan! Did you take the wrong medicine today? Don’t you forget, I am your mother-in-law!”

Su Yan chuckled, her pink lips curling into a smirk. “Don’t worry, very soon, you won’t be!”

“Beep Beep!”

Outside the villa, the distinct sound of a car horn echoed.

Noticing the car’s arrival, Su Yan smirked.

“It’s time for me to leave. Aside from this suitcase containing my personal belongings, I’ve left everything else within my room. This includes all the gold and silver jewelry that the Wei Family bestowed upon me during the wedding. I’ve returned it all to you. You can do as you please with them; just ensure you don’t bother me in the future!”

Zhong Cuiping’s expression was one of uncertainty as she gazed at Su Yan, unsure if her daughter-in-law was truly serious this time.

The horn sounded twice more. Su Yan wasted no further time. She grasped her suitcase and leisurely strolled out.

“The Wei Family is truly comprised of marvelous individuals!” Su Yan couldn’t help but mutter as she exited. These were words she had kept bottled up inside for three full years.

Upon hearing this, Zhong Cuiping restrained the retort forming on her lips, her entire body trembling with fury.

“Let her go! Don’t mind her!”

“A woman like her never should have been part of the Wei Family in the first place. Just look at her self-righteous demeanor. Does she truly believe she holds any significance?” Wei Shani commented coldly from the second floor.

Zhong Cuiping wore a complex expression. She watched Su Yan’s retreating figure, deeply perplexed. What had gotten into her usually docile and obedient daughter-in-law?

The phrase “Don’t worry, very soon, you won’t be!” echoed repeatedly in Zhong Cuiping’s mind.

Outside the villa, a pink Maserati sped away. Zhong Cuiping hurried towards Su Yan, only to witness the receding taillights.

“She… she actually left?”

Wei Shani scoffed disdainfully, “Mom, you don’t need to fret. It’s best that she’s gone. We should be celebrating and rejoicing. Miss Liu will be back soon, and she just saved us a great deal of trouble by taking the initiative to leave.”

Zhong Cuiping remained silent. Su Yan’s departure unsettled her, but she quickly rationalized that her son could find a more suitable partner.

“Well done!”

“Yan Yan, you have finally regained your dignity today. That peculiar mother and daughter are about to die from anger, haha…”

Tang Yitong exclaimed excitedly as she drove the Maserati.“Who cares about them!” Su Yan scoffed from the front passenger seat, her voice laced with defiance. “From now on, I am determined to be my true self and reclaim all that I've lost over these years.” . . . Excellent Era Corporation, occupying the highest floor. “Miss Su Yan, you cannot enter. President Wei is currently in a meeting,” Secretary Li Rong interjected swiftly, blocking her path. “An appointment is required to see President Wei. Please return!” Su Yan let out a cold laugh. For the past three years, Li Rong had never once addressed her as Mrs. Wei. This persistent lack of respect had once nearly driven her to madness.
