Previously on Became the Patron of Villains...
The entrance defenses are strained against an endless tide of flesh masses, with commanders desperately calling for reinforcements. Reber and his comrades fight on, but their stamina and mana are dwindling. Meanwhile, Al-Akulakka nears ascension, its cocoon darkening and pulsing with a powerful heartbeat. Alon, Evan, and Penia struggle against an increasingly powerful Al-Akulakka, which reveals it only has five minutes left. Alon questions how Al-Akulakka took over the Karma of War's body, but is rebuffed. As Al-Akulakka basks in its impending victory, Alon activates a hidden spell, Heavenly Thunder Chains, to bind it and prepare to return to their original world. Penia attempts to collapse the distortion field to negate Al-Akulakka's ability, but Al-Akulakka withdraws and reinstates the ability, crushing her hope. Just as Al-Akulakka mocks the trio, its voice changes to that of the Karma of War, addressing Alon as its friend.
