Ning Ge hires a private detective to investigate Chiang Qing after suspecting her motives behind a seemingly innocuous comment. Meanwhile, Cheng Su prepares to return home, feeling uneasy about the possibility of Chiang Qing having investigated her and her family.

People with psychological obsessions are strange; once they assert something, no matter what others say, in their worldview, they’ll only acknowledge it as, "I’m right, you’re all wrong."

As for something or someone they’re obsessed with, they’ll think, "It’s mine; it can only be mine, and it can’t belong to others. If I don’t want it, it can only be because I don’t want it; it can’t be that others made me not want it, and the other party certainly can’t not want me."

Cheng Su does not rule out that Chiang Qing has such a mindset. Qi Taiguo’s rejection made her feel embarrassed. How could he not want someone as good as her? How could he refuse her?

So, her desire to have Qi Taiguo might just be to prove that she is right.

Later, a series of events occurred, and Chiang Qing’s obsession began to deteriorate. The misfortunes that befell her were all blamed on the "source," which was, in her recognition, Qi Taiguo and herself.

Because of the couple’s shared animosity, a series of events unravelled, much like the butterfly effect, leading to her misfortune. Therefore, she is not reconciled and can’t let go.

Chiang Qing would never consider it her fault; she’d only think it’s her adversary that made her this way; it’s all the adversary’s fault.

Their confrontations deny her, and she won’t allow herself to be in that position of being denied and abandoned.

"...Within her heart is filled with a desire for destruction and annihilation. What she cannot have, she wants to ruin it all!" Cheng Su’s voice was like ice, causing the entire compartment to feel cold.

Suddenly, a warmth covered her hand. Cheng Su looked down to see Ning Ge’s hand hold hers for a moment before letting go.

"Don’t be afraid; we’re here." Ning Ge patted her hand and said, "No matter what she wants to do, we’ll bring her to justice; she won’t be able to enjoy freedom for long."

Listening to his warm voice, Cheng Su’s heart calmed a bit. She said, "Actually, I really want to ask her: isn’t she tired? Isn’t she exhausted by being so entangled all the time? Why doesn’t she cherish the great opportunities she has, why isn’t she willing to start a new life? Isn’t she tired of constantly clinging to the past?"

"You’ve also said her heart is filled with destruction; that’s abnormal. An abnormal person, how would they feel tired?" Ning Ge scoffed, "Maybe this tiredness is actually the miraculous elixir sustaining her!"

Cheng Su once again looked outside the window and murmured, "Yes. She can’t be called a normal person anymore; perhaps she’s just a zombie, and for someone like that, maybe only death can liberate her?"

Ning Ge’s voice was somber: "She will be!"

Cheng Su’s heart trembled as she looked at him but didn’t say anything.

Compared to him, she was exhausted by Chiang Qing’s antics.

She only wanted to live her own life, to live peacefully with her son, partner, and family, living a normal and ordinary life. She didn’t want to engage in these scheming battles nor live a life where she must always be wary of being stabbed in the back. It’s truly tiring.

Compared to Chiang Qing, who disregards everything, focusing only on destruction and living like a living corpse at any cost, Cheng Su is not like that. She has always loved life and lived seriously. She does everything to live better and more brilliantly, not wanting to waste time battling bitterly with Chiang Qing.

If Chiang Qing were to die, then she would have nothing to say, only wishing her liberation so she can fight others well in the Western Paradise.

If she dies, only then will her own life be completely peaceful and comfortable. So, let her be selfish for once, and let her say to the heavens, let her die!
