Gao Hongbo's death has raised suspicions, and Chiang Qing seeks protection from Master Shen. Shen Rong, indebted to the Loo family, agrees to cover up Gao Hongbo's death. Chiang Qing, having lost her family and seeking revenge, decides to rely on Shen Rong for protection.

Shen Rong observed Chiang Qing for several minutes before finally uttering, "Stand up!"

A wave of relief washed over Chiang Qing as she attempted to rise, but her legs faltered, sending her forward onto Shen Rong’s lap as he reclined in the Taishi Chair. Her cheeks flushed, she dared not speak, casting her gaze downwards in silence.

"Assist Miss Chiang," Shen Rong said, a slight tilt to his head and a raised eyebrow. A man in a black Tang suit, standing nearby, promptly stepped forward and helped Chiang Qing to her feet.

"Return to the guest room and rest for a few days. You will be traveling to Hong Kong, where a spacious residence awaits. See to your health," Shen Rong stated in a flat tone. Chiang Qing’s expression flickered, and she murmured, "Master Shen."

"A woman’s miscarriage leaves a deep wound. Neglecting it will lead to persistent sickness, making you of no use to me," Shen Rong commented, his gaze sweeping over her. Tears began to stream down Chiang Qing's face.

As Shen Rong stood from the Taishi Chair, preparing to depart, he said, his back to Chiang Qing, "I do not favor disobedient women."

"I will obey you!" Chiang Qing immediately declared. Shen Rong responded with a simple hum.

The moment he exited, Chiang Qing’s body went slack, and she slumped back into the chair. Shortly thereafter, attendants arrived to escort her to the guest room for rest. Later, they brought her nourishing chicken soup, an order from Master Shen himself.

Chiang Qing quietly consumed the soup and lay down on the bed, placing a hand on her lower abdomen. Since her entanglement with Old Master Wang, Gao Hongbo had frequently brought her to such social functions, and when the mood struck him, he would indulge with her and others. The child had arrived unexpectedly; she wasn’t sure whose it was.

Upon learning of the pregnancy, Gao Hongbo displayed no emotional reaction. He merely summoned medical staff to handle the situation. Strangely, Chiang Qing felt no profound sorrow regarding the miscarriage; even if it had continued, she wouldn't have kept it.

Fortuitously, Old Master Wang had indeed facilitated her introduction to Shen Rong, a formidable tycoon whose business interests spanned foreign casinos, operating within both legitimate and illicit domains. Thanks to the lost child, Gao Hongbo had shown her a modicum of sympathy and granted her a few days of freedom, enabling her to successfully meet Shen Rong.

That pregnancy served as the final catalyst for Chiang Qing. With Shen Rong’s covert assistance, she had discreetly altered the insulin that Gao Hongbo frequently used. Furthermore, employing a seductive prostitute, she had incited him to a feverish state, leading to his demise through extreme excitement. She had acted like a venomous serpent, entwining itself around his neck before delivering a swift, fatal strike to his vital point when his guard was down.

The ensuing fallout was managed by Shen Rong, and now, all consequences had been resolved. She no longer had to grovel and beg Gao Hongbo like a subordinate. That old scoundrel, who should have met his end long ago, was finally gone. She was no longer presented by him as a mere socialite, forced into humility.

As for Shen Rong… This dragon-headed magnate possessed his own principles. He would surely not stoop to using his women as bargaining chips. Her safety was assured, and her desires could be met. He wished for her obedience; very well, she would travel to Hong Kong and focus on her recovery. The torment inflicted by Gao Hongbo, and the harrowing experience in the mental institution, were now behind her. She was liberated!

Chiang Qing succumbed to a deep slumber, finding solace within her dreams. Meanwhile, in Shen Rong’s study, his chief aide, with a furrowed brow, was reporting on Chiang Qing’s situation. "Sir, this Chiang Qing… I fear she might become a source of trouble for you..."

"If she brings trouble, so be it, out of respect for Elder Loo. If she possesses wisdom, she will understand her position. If not..." Shen Rong drawled, puffing on his pipe, "She is merely a woman!"

"Yes!"

"Arrange her passage to Hong Kong; let her sit out the current storm," Shen Rong instructed further, his brow momentarily creased before relaxing. Indeed, she was troublesome, bold enough to bring down a powerful figure like a local secretary – quite an interesting prospect.
