"Wow, you're quite the expert!" Cheng Su narrowed her eyes, her tone laced with playful suspicion. "Have you been doing some research?"
Qi Taiguo lightly caressed her cheek. "You're overthinking again. There's no research involved. Not everyone in the army is single, you know. When men gather, what topics are truly off-limits? I've certainly heard my share of crude jokes from them."
Cheng Su's demeanor shifted to one of concern. "You weren't foolish enough to discuss our private affairs out in the open, were you?" No matter her own open-mindedness, she couldn't fathom such shamelessness.
"I'm not stupid!" Qi Taiguo rolled his eyes. "You are mine, and only I have the privilege to see and know. Would I ever let others peek into our marital intimacies? Not even in my wildest thoughts!"
A wave of relief washed over Cheng Su. "That's good. Keep your lips sealed about this, and don't go boasting about how well you manage your wife."
"Alright, alright, alright."
Qi Taiguo wrapped his arms around her, his hand gently stroking her waist, and confessed, "Susu, I truly feel that life is now perfect and brimming with promise. I am incredibly happy."
"Oh? Why is that?"
"I have a beautiful wife and a wonderful son. Soon, we'll have our own house. As for my military rank, it won't be long before a promotion comes my way.
