Chiang Qing reflects on her family's downfall, suspecting the Ning Family and Qi Taiguo's involvement. Overwhelmed, she experiences a hallucination. Afterward, Old Master Wang enters the bathroom, professes his affection, and attempts to embrace her.

Chiang Qing recoiled in shock, her mind a complete blank until the foul odor from the man’s mouth neared her. She reacted instantly, shoving him away with all her might.

"Old Master Wang, what are you doing?" Chiang Qing demanded, her voice sharp. "I belong to Secretary Gao."

She couldn't believe this was happening—a famed 'tiger fallen on flat ground' being harassed by a mere dog! How dare anyone harbor such ill intentions towards her?

What did they take her for? Some common escort?

The force of her push sent Old Master Wang stumbling, nearly pitching him to the floor. Anger flared within him. He was an old man, and a fall could mean not only missing out on his desires but also risking his life!

He had only taken a liking to her because she possessed a certain beauty. Why was she acting so high and mighty?

Regaining his balance, he sneered, his expression darkening. "So what if you belong to Secretary Gao? The Secretary doesn't mind, but you haven't realized your own position. You are no longer the pure, noble Miss Chiang you once were."

Chiang Qing’s face drained of color.

Gao Hongbo doesn't mind – what did that mean? Had he sent this old man?

That old scoundrel!

Chiang Qing’s hands trembled subtly, her nails digging into her palms as she bit her lower lip until it was almost bruised.

"Behave yourself, and we can discuss anything. Otherwise, if you anger the Secretary, then..." Old Master Wang let out a soft snort.

Chiang Qing’s body shuddered.

She knew Gao Hongbo was nearing retirement, but he wasn't content to be idle. He planned to partner with this Old Master Wang after stepping down. Was that not the reason he arranged this dinner?

She hadn’t anticipated becoming the main course herself!

While Old Master Wang might not wield the same official power as Gao Hongbo, he was a business magnate with an extensive network. If she truly offended him, it went without saying that Gao Hongbo would show her no mercy.

But then again, he knew so many people...

Chiang Qing’s voice softened slightly. "If I behave, what will I gain?"

Seeing her apparent compliance, Old Master Wang felt a surge of smugness. He moved closer again, slinging an arm around her shoulders. "Whatever you desire, I shall grant it to you!"

Chiang Qing feigned a slight struggle, enduring the immense humiliation. She spoke, her voice strained, "I don’t want anything material. It’s just… the last time I visited my mother, she asked me to find an old friend. The Secretary disapproves of me maintaining contact with my family, and I didn’t dare tell him. I haven’t found this person yet, and the thought fills me with dread at the prospect of seeing my mother…"

"Finding someone? That’s hardly difficult! Who is it? I’ll help you find them!" Old Master Wang declared instantly.

"But if the Secretary finds out, he might be displeased with you," Chiang Qing demurred, feigning hesitation. "Perhaps I should just forget it."

"You’re being foolish. It’s just the two of us here. If I don’t speak, and you don’t speak, how would he ever know?" Old Master Wang playfully pinched her cheek.

Chiang Qing put on a charming act. "Who’s to say you won’t betray me? Men’s promises are unreliable. Back then, the Secretary also said he’d only let me follow him, and now look where I am. I fear I’ll suffer even more in the future."

Old Master Wang chuckled, delighted. "How about I ask the Secretary to just give you to me then?"

Chiang Qing let out a sigh. "That’s impossible, so don’t waste your effort. If you truly care for me, just help me with this quietly."

Old Master Wang had merely been speaking in jest. Observing how much Gao Hongbo doted on Chiang Qing, he knew playing around with her was feasible, but acquiring her outright was out of the question.

Hearing her earnest plea now, he felt a sense of relief. "Very well, I will help you find this person."

"You must keep it absolutely secret. If the Secretary discovers our involvement, I'll be in serious trouble."

"Absolutely!" Old Master Wang nodded with great seriousness and quickly pulled her closer. "If I help you, how will you repay me?"

Chiang Qing, suppressing her shame and rage, gently pushed him away and sat down on the edge of the sink, extending a smooth leg towards him...
