Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife Chapter 1511 - 1512: My Child Is My Life
Previously on Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife...
Ying Xiaoya was naturally shy, yet she couldn't hold out against her shameless best friend, so once the conversation started, she owned up to what had to be confessed.
Cheng Su remarked: "The affection between you two is perfectly fine, but remember to take precautions. It's not impossible to get pregnant now, yet with the wedding just months off, picture yourself in a wedding gown sporting a huge belly—ugly aside, it'd be miserable! Trust my word, early pregnancy leaves you utterly drained. So if children are on your mind, hold off till after the marriage."
Ying Xiaoya responded: "I get it; Mom warned me too—if I'm big-bellied at the wedding, folks will chatter!"
"Ignore the chatter; society's loosening up these days. Prioritize your health. During my pregnancy with Xiao Qi, I clung to the spittoon nonstop from all the vomiting—it was brutal!" Cheng Su softly squeezed her son's chubby cheek and added: "You don't want to be retching all through your big day, do you?"
Ying Xiaoya shivered: "Absolutely not, I won't let that happen!"
Cheng Su laughed lightly.
"Susu, is childbirth agonizing? Rumors say it's worse than a knife slicing you!" Ying Xiaoya inquired timidly.
"It's beyond hellish, far worse than a knife cut—you'd beg to shove the baby back inside and skip it forever. Post-birth, your body's like it's been shattered and pieced together again; that sensation? I'd never endure it twice!" Cheng Su explained.
Ying Xiaoya paled, her voice trembling: "That bad, really?"
Cheng Su nodded gravely: "Relax though, Guangcheng's a major city with top medical care. You'll likely get a painless shot and breeze through. Way too soon for this chat anyway. Newbies shouldn't heed veterans too closely—it'll just terrify you!"
Ying Xiaoya gulped: "Sounds terrifying."
Cheng Su agreed with a nod, spotting her son dozing off, and settled him beside her on the bed: "Still, the agony fades when you hold your baby—suddenly it's all worthwhile."
Noticing the soft glow and motherly warmth radiating from her friend's face, Ying Xiaoya grinned: "For real? You were griping so vividly moments ago!"
Cheng Su shot her a mock scowl: "Totally true. Your spouse is for life, but a child shares your blood, extending your very existence. That bond is indescribable." She tenderly stroked her son's tiny frame and went on: "Go ahead and mock me, but with him here, nothing else measures up. He's my universe, my everything!"
With her own boy now, she could grasp why some mothers-in-law sparred with daughters-in-law. Watching the son you'd nurtured grow close to another woman stirred inevitable unease and envy.
Just imagining her son with a wife someday already sparked a twinge of jealousy in her!
"Susu, motherhood's transformed you," Ying Xiaoya observed with a sigh.
Cheng Su asked: "Am I gentler now?"
Ying Xiaoya affirmed: "And tougher too!"
Cheng Su beamed: "Motherhood forges resilience. You'll see when your time comes!"
"Sheesh, mere days as a mom and you're the expert—such bravado!" Ying Xiaoya ribbed her.
Cheng Su stayed unruffled. She'd merely imparted her insights to her pal, and they bantered merrily until exhaustion hit Cheng Su for real, prompting Ying Xiaoya to bid farewell.
