Daniel used a powerful sealing spell to isolate the interrogation room, then used an "Enchanter of Hearts" skill to forcibly extract information from Ryndor. Ryndor revealed that Lioran is not the true heir, but a vessel being prepared by the dying founder to transfer his Divinity into, effectively erasing Lioran. As Ryndor finished speaking, a "Silence Curse" activated, and chains emerged from his soul, causing him immense pain and threatening to silence him permanently before Daniel could learn more.

The dark spell was still writhing within the room.

The magical chains that had emerged from the depths of Ryndor’s soul, like serpents made of shadow and curse, were wrapped around his body, devouring a part of his soul core with each pulse.

The air in the room had grown heavy, and even the mana around those chains collapsed unnaturally, as if the world itself feared getting close to them.

Daniel’s eyes narrowed for a moment. This was a curse. A very powerful curse with only one goal: to kill its target.

Such curses were called Silence Curses. When placed on a target, if the person spoke words they shouldn’t, the curse would activate and try with all its power to kill them.

The power of the curse depended on who had cast it, and this curse Daniel was seeing was terrifyingly powerful. Powerful enough to kill any S-rank Awakened.

And with a bit more pressure, it could even kill national awakened, or Heavenly Mages.

He immediately drew several magical seals in the air and, with quick movements of his fingers, sent threads of death toward the chains.

Right now, the best way to destroy this curse was to use the Law of Death or the Law of Destruction. Either could help.

But he wasn’t sure he could stop it.

One of the seals exploded. The second struck directly at the curse’s core.

The third tried to cut off the energy transfer path. But just at that moment, Daniel realized the truth.

This curse wasn’t designed for simple killing. It was designed to destroy the soul.

Even if the body survived, even if the greatest soul-summoning mages in the world gathered, there would be nothing left to bring back.

All memories... all secrets... all truth... were meant to perish along with its owner’s soul.

"...Damn it." Daniel’s voice lowered slightly. The power of this curse came from a Demi-God... even he couldn’t do anything against such power right now.

He broke one chain, shattered another.

But it was too late.

Deep within Ryndor’s chest, his soul core cracked with a sound only those with high mana perception could hear.

Ryndor’s eyes, which had been empty and lifeless until moments before, suddenly became clear for the last time.

His gaze fixed on Daniel. In that look, there was no hatred... no fear... but something like relief.

As if he had carried a burden for years, and now, just before destruction, he had finally put it down.

His lips moved slightly. No sound came out. And a moment later... all the light in his eyes went out.

His lifeless body fell to the floor, and the chains of the curse, along with the destruction of his soul, turned into black dust and vanished into the air.

A few seconds of absolute silence reigned over the room. Daniel quietly looked at the corpse, then muttered under his breath:

"They planned for your death from the very beginning." It seemed Morcan wasn’t the only pawn that had been discarded.

Even Ryndor was just a pawn. A pawn that would be discarded if necessary, and in the end, that’s exactly what happened.

A few minutes later, the layers of the seal collapsed one by one. The sound of the door opening broke the room’s heavy silence.

Serys rushed in, but before she had taken two steps, her gaze locked onto Ryndor’s motionless body.

The color drained from her face. Her eyes widened in disbelief. She stepped back a few paces, almost losing her balance.

"D... Daniel..." Her voice trembled.

"What... have you done?!" At first glance, it was clear that Professor Ryndor’s death was certainly Daniel’s doing, and Serys thought exactly that.

Her mind was flooded with countless emotions in an instant: fear, worry, and terror.

Daniel didn’t even raise his head. He was still kneeling beside the body, carefully examining the remnants of the curse’s mana.

"I didn’t kill him." After a few moments, he said quietly.

Serys said nothing. What she saw was completely different from what she heard.

"A Silence Curse was engraved on his soul. As soon as he spoke the truth, it activated." Daniel continued.

He placed his hand on the remaining trace of the curse mark.

"It wasn’t designed to kill the body. Its goal was the complete destruction of the soul."

"Even if I hadn’t interrogated him today, if anyone else had extracted the truth from him on any other day, exactly the same thing would have happened."

Serys breathed with difficulty. Her gaze shifted between Daniel and Ryndor’s corpse.

"But... if the Supreme Council sees this scene... everyone will think you killed a great professor of the tower. You’ll be sentenced to death directly. The entire tower will come after you." Daniel already had a criminal record.

He was responsible for the destruction of the Trial of a Thousand Spells, and now another crime!

She clenched her fist tightly.

"This... is exactly what the enemy wanted. Ryndor had to die... and everything would be pinned on you." She thought they had fallen for yet another one of Lioran’s sinister plans.

Daniel finally rose from beside the corpse. Contrary to expectation, no trace of worry could be seen on his face, nor any hurry in his movements.

He glanced at the corpse, reached his hand forward, and suddenly a devouring black hole appeared in his palm, swallowing Ryndor’s entire body in one motion.

[Everlasting Physique activated]

[Your physical strength has increased significantly]

Serys watched the scene with wide eyes but said nothing. She preferred not to know what had just happened.

He reached into his personal storage space. A moment later, he pulled out a small, transparent crystal.

Inside the crystal, faint lights flowed like living memories.

He held it up to Serys. A faint smile settled on his lips.

"That’s why, from the moment you left the room, I recorded everything."

Serys stared at the crystal for a few seconds, then asked in disbelief:

"From... the very beginning?"

"I don’t start any important interrogation without insurance." Daniel shrugged. He wasn’t foolish enough to not record evidence from such a good interrogation.

Serys took a deep breath. The heavy pressure on her chest lightened slightly. She hadn’t expected Daniel to have thought that far ahead.

Her gaze fell on the crystal again.

"So it’s over. We have Morcan’s confession, we have Ryndor’s words, we have the meeting records with the founder. Everything... is complete." Could this finally be the end of this case?

Could they finally convict Lioran?

Daniel nodded quietly.

"Yes. All the puzzle pieces have finally come together." But before he could even finish his sentence, Serys’s smile slowly faded.

She remembered something, and her face changed color again.

"Wait..." Serys said slowly.

"Even if the tower leader accepts all this evidence... what about the founder? He can hide everything again. He can destroy the files."

"He can pressure the council. He can... cover everything up again."

"I know." Daniel answered without the slightest hesitation.

From one perspective, this girl’s words weren’t wrong, and they were completely correct. But that didn’t mean he hadn’t thought about such things.

Serys looked at him in disbelief. Daniel walked a few steps toward the window.

"My goal from the start has always been just one thing: to prevent Lioran from becoming the heir."

"With this evidence, even if we can’t convict the founder, at least no one can comfortably introduce Lioran as the tower’s heir."

Serys was still not convinced. Her gaze was a mixture of worry and helplessness. Did this bastard want to leave her in such a predicament?

"That’s it? Do you think after this... the founder will let you and me live? He’s been controlling everything from behind the scenes for a thousand years. Why would he let all his plans be destroyed?"

Daniel laughed. Not mockingly, not out of pride, but with a calmness that suggested he had known the answer to this question from the very beginning.

"Don’t worry."

Serys fell silent. Daniel looked away from the window and walked toward the door.

"Before he comes for us, I want to go see him myself."

"What?! You want to... meet the only living founder of the tower?!" Serys was completely frozen. Had this man finally lost his mind?

Daniel, without slowing his steps, grabbed the door handle.

"First the tower leader."

He opened the door quietly. The cold air of the hallway entered the room. Daniel looked back at Serys one last time.

"Then... it’s time to speak with the one who has been pulling all the strings from behind the curtain for a thousand years."
