Julia and Julie Stewart arrived at the Lewis engagement banquet, stunning guests by defending mountain boy Lionel Yeager as their benefactor and friend against the hosts' disdain. The Lewises yielded after Vic slapped Alma to appease them, while Lionel warned Vic he had little time left to live. Outside, Julia asked Lionel to save her grandfather, and he confidently agreed before they rushed to the hospital. There, top doctor Joan Holman declared Sir Stewart would not survive past midnight.

All eyes swiveled toward the entrance.

A bunch of people strode inside.

Leading the group were none other than Julia Stewart and Julie Stewart.

Lionel Yeager trailed closely behind.

“Julia, Julie, you’re here.”

His face etched with deep sorrow, Kenneth Stewart welcomed them.

“Big Brother, how is father?”

Julie Stewart asked with urgent worry.

Julia Stewart gazed at Kenneth Stewart too.

Eyes rimmed red, Kenneth shook his head and replied, “Doctor Holman said… father… won’t survive past midnight tonight…”

Hearing those words,

Julia and Julie Stewart staggered, nearly collapsing.

Tears flowing down her cheeks, Julia sobbed, “Impossible… Grandfather won’t die!”

“Doctor Holman, is there truly no other option?”

Tears also streaming down her face, Julie Stewart pleaded with Joan Holman.

“I’m sorry, I can’t do anything more.”

Joan Holman answered, then shifted her gaze to Lionel Yeager. “Young man, were you the one doubting my diagnosis just now?”

“Yes, that was me.”

Lionel Yeager confirmed with a nod.

Laird Tennat furrowed his brow and declared, “Young man, do you realize who stands before you? This is River City’s premier physician, the renowned ‘Divine Needle King’! If Doctor Holman declares it, it’s fact! What gives you the right to challenge her verdict?”

With a casual chuckle, Lionel remarked, “So now just anyone can claim the title of Divine Doctor?”

His words sparked an immediate uproar among those present!

“Young man, do you grasp what you’re saying? This is Doctor Holman, with 30 years of practice and countless patients healed!”

“Doctor Holman serves as a director in the East Nation Medicine Association of Huagu, hailed as River City’s top doctor. It’s beyond your place to question her!”

Several attending physicians chimed in one after another, clearly irritated by Lionel Yeager’s bold attitude.

Joan Holman narrowed her eyes at Lionel Yeager. “Young man, from your tone, it seems you believe you can heal Sir Stewart?”

“What’s the challenge in that?”

Lionel Yeager shrugged nonchalantly.

The moment they stepped into the ward, he had already assessed Sir Stewart’s illness and felt completely assured of curing the elder.

Joan Holman let out a mocking scoff. “Young man, if you truly manage to cure Sir Stewart, I’ll gladly become your apprentice!”

Lionel Yeager smirked and shot back, “Old timer, you wish to take me as your master? I wouldn’t even accept you as a student.”

This bold claim ignited fury in everyone around!

The kid was outright disdainful of Doctor Holman!

Joan Holman’s expression darkened instantly!

For years in his medical career, he had always been honored as a distinguished guest everywhere he went!

Today’s humiliation was utterly unprecedented!

“Julie, Julia, who’s this brat?”

Kenneth Stewart demanded coldly, his stare at Lionel Yeager brimming with rage.

Julia hurriedly clarified, “Eldest Uncle, this is Mr. Yeager, Lionel Yeager. Not long ago, Aunt suffered a myocarditis episode, and Mr. Yeager eased her pain. That’s why Julie and I brought Mr. Yeager here to treat Grandfather.”

She had only hoped Lionel Yeager would give it a shot.

Yet upon arrival, he had clashed with Doctor Holman right away?

This dilemma left her at a loss.

“Oh?”

Surprise flickered in Kenneth Stewart’s eyes. “Young man, are you a doctor as well?”

“Correct, I am a doctor.”

Lionel Yeager nodded and affirmed.

“Can you truly save my father?”

Kenneth Stewart pressed further.

“Yes.”

Lionel Yeager stated with unwavering certainty.

Laird Tennat sneered mockingly. “Young man, since you call yourself a doctor, tell me—which Medical University did you graduate from?”

“I never went to any Medical University.”

Lionel Yeager shook his head.

“Hah…”

Laird Tennat scoffed derisively. “Young man, without even a Medical University education, you dare claim to be a doctor? Are you joking?”

Then he addressed Kenneth Stewart. “Mayor Stewart, this kid is clearly a fraud from the outside world. You should chase him out!”

Kenneth Stewart commanded gravely, “Young man, no matter who you think you are, you have three seconds to get out of my sight!”

Joan Holman interjected, “Mayor Stewart, please wait!”

Kenneth Stewart replied respectfully, “Doctor Holman, what do you need?”

Joan Holman declared, “Given how persuasively the kid just spoke, why not let him have a shot?”

Kenneth Stewart and the rest were stunned, puzzled by what Joan Holman meant.

Joan Holman glanced at Lionel Yeager and remarked, “Young man, you claimed you can heal Sir Stewart, so explain his ailment to us.”

The others turned their gazes toward Lionel Yeager curiously as well.

They realized Joan Holman intended to watch Lionel Yeager embarrass himself.

Lionel Yeager replied without pause, “The elder suffers from old wounds in his lungs, waist, and legs, lingering for years.

In his youth, this elder could endure them, but with age catching up and his body weakening, he can no longer tolerate it.

It's solely due to his robust constitution that he's survived until now; otherwise, death would have claimed him ages ago.”

Hearing this, Joan Holman, Laird Tennat, and the others were utterly shocked!

Lionel Yeager's words matched their diagnostic findings precisely!

From the Stewarts, they knew Haward Stewart had battled fiercely for East Nation, sustaining countless injuries!

Yet how had this young man figured it out?

Joan Holman recovered swiftly and accused, “Third Madam and Miss Stewart must have informed you, haven't they?”

Julia Stewart shook her head repeatedly, “Doctor Holman, I never shared Grandpa's condition with Mr. Yeager.”

“What?!”

Joan Holman's expression darkened as he fixed his stare on Lionel Yeager, “Young man, how exactly did you find out?!”

“Naturally, by looking.”

Lionel Yeager shrugged and said, “Old timer, as a practitioner of traditional medicine, surely you're familiar with ‘observational diagnosis,’ aren't you?”

“This…”

Joan Holman stood dumbfounded.

Masters of traditional medicine like himself relied heavily on the four diagnostic approaches: observation, auscultation, interrogation, and pulse-taking.

No one grasped this more thoroughly than he did.

Still, not even he could identify numerous diseases merely through “observational diagnosis.”

Such as Sir Stewart's affliction—he couldn't spot it via mere observation.

Should Lionel Yeager truly discern any illness instantly, his healing prowess would be extraordinary!

Yet this youth appeared barely twenty-something; even starting traditional medicine from birth, how profound could his expertise possibly be?

Joan Holman drew a deep breath and conceded, “Young man, you seem to possess genuine skills.”

Lionel Yeager grinned, “At the very least, superior to yours.”

“You…”

Joan Holman's fury surged, his chest rising and falling rapidly.

Nevertheless, the crowd's view of Lionel Yeager shifted subtly right then.

After all, earning commendation from Joan Holman was a rare feat for youngsters.

Joan Holman reined in his rage and announced, “Young man, as you've boasted of curing Sir Stewart, I'll grant you an opportunity!”

“Doctor Holman, are you seriously allowing this kid to treat him?!”

Kenneth Stewart grew anxious abruptly.

“Doctor Holman, what happens if it backfires?”

Laird Tennat chimed in too.

They remained skeptical of Lionel Yeager.

Joan Holman proclaimed firmly, “Should any mishap occur, I'll bear full responsibility!”
