Julie Stewart drew in a deep breath, her voice brimming with excitement, “I feel my dizziness has vanished, the shortness of breath is gone, and my heart doesn’t hurt anymore!”
Julia Stewart stood there in shock, completely stunned!
If she hadn't witnessed it herself, she would never have believed such a thing!
That young man had merely pressed a few acupoints near her aunt’s chest, and her aunt’s symptoms eased right away!
Julie glanced around and hurriedly inquired, “Julia, where’s Mr. Yeager?”
Julia snapped back to reality, “He… he left!”
“What? He left?”
Julie exclaimed with thrill, “Divine Doctor, Mr. Yeager is a true Divine Doctor! Why did you let him leave? We haven’t even thanked him yet, and moreover…”
“Moreover what?”
Julia questioned.
Julie panted slightly, “Mr. Yeager’s incredible medical skills just might save your grandfather!”
Julia furrowed her brows a bit, “Aunt, countless doctors over the years couldn’t heal my grandfather. Can he really succeed?”
“He diagnosed my condition and its timing at first sight.”
Julie squinted her eyes and went on, “Plus, he pulled me back from the edge of death in mere minutes. Tell me, can’t he? We have to locate Mr. Yeager!”
Julia felt a jolt of surprise, then recovered her composure.
Regret filled her as she said, “Aunt, he’s already gone. How will we track him down?”
Julie took a steadying breath and declared, “Didn’t Mr. Yeager mention heading to the Lewis family to honor the marriage agreement? Let’s head there right now and seek his aid!”
“Okay!”
Julia’s eyes sparkled with hope as she fired up the engine and sped toward the Lewis family estate.
…
Lewis Family Villa.
In the hall.
“A hillbilly from the backwoods dares to wed our Second Miss Lewis. Keep dreaming!”
“A toad lusting after swan flesh, yet blind to his own worth!”
“Rustic fool, this isn’t your turf—scram!”
The Lewis family hurled insults and shooed away the young man before them.
Today marked the engagement ceremony for Cindy Lewis, the esteemed young lady of River City’s Lewis family, and Dion Weil, heir to the Weil family.
Leaders from top companies and affluent clans gathered, turning the event into a grand affair.
Suddenly, Lionel Yeager burst in clutching a marriage contract, demanding to uphold it with Miss Lewis.
This bold move enraged the entire Lewis household.
As a third-rate family in River City, they had finally cozied up to the second-tier Weil family, eyeing a shot at rising in status, so they couldn’t let this slip away.
Thus, no one could disrupt this union and shatter their golden chance.
Lionel Yeager gripped the marriage contract tightly, gazing at the Lewis kin in disbelief, his heart heavy with dismay.
He had come per Neal Koontz’s instructions to honor the pact with the Lewis family, only to find them ignoring him entirely and setting up another engagement.
Lionel inhaled deeply, fixing his gaze on Vic Lewis in his flashy red suit, and stated gravely, “Old Man Lewis, you pleaded with my master to seal this marriage contract years ago! Are you backing out now?”
Neal had shared how, long ago, he rescued Old Man Lewis, granting him twenty extra years of life.
Grateful beyond measure, Old Man Lewis sought to ally through marriage, even pledging the family’s full wealth—which prompted Neal’s consent.
Furthermore, Neal vowed that if the Lewis family upheld their end, he’d extend Old Man Lewis’s life by another decade.
“Hmph!”
Vic Lewis scoffed, “Boy, two decades have flown by—the contract’s long expired! I was merely humoring your master back then; you actually believed it? Regardless, I won’t let our Anna wed some apprentice of a rural quack doctor!”
Lucy Lewis haughtily berated Lionel, “Take a good look at yourself! Who do you think you are? Do your rags even total 100 yuan? You’re no better than a tramp! Get lost, you filthy beggar!”
Second Miss Lewis, Cindy, rose imperiously and proclaimed, “Lionel, my future husband must be the pinnacle of excellence, hailing from elite stock! And you—what are you? What makes a mountain hick worthy of marrying me? What gives you the right? Only Dion Weil captures my heart!”
Clad in a luxurious branded suit, Dion Weil sneered disdainfully, “Kid, I’m the heir to the Weil family’s next Patriarch and CEO of our family enterprise boasting assets over 100 billion dollars!
And you?
No wealth, no influence.
Do you truly believe a loser like you can vie with me for Anna?”
Lionel Yeager let out a cold laugh, “I have zero interest in battling you over a tarnished, infamous woman.”
He had long discerned that Cindy Lewis wasn’t a virgin and carried the scent of multiple men.
Given the circumstances, this betrothal held no significance.
He absolutely refused to clean up after her chaos.
“How dare you label me a disreputable woman?
You’re courting death!”
With her secret laid bare, Cindy Lewis shrieked in fury.
Her romantic history was indeed promiscuous, involving numerous men.
Yet, having Lionel Yeager call it out directly left her deeply shamed.
Whispers spread among the guests in the room.
Some truths everyone recognized, but voicing them proved mortifying.
Cindy’s mother, Lucille Harper, bellowed, “Attack! Finish off this brat!”
As the Lewis Family’s protectors moved to advance!
Vic Lewis bellowed, “Stop it!
Have you no shame?”
The Lewis Family’s guardians halted abruptly.
With elites from major clans observing, she sought to avoid shaming her lineage and simply wanted Lionel Yeager gone swiftly.
Vic Lewis fixed a icy glare on Lionel Yeager and declared, “Brat, you’re causing this uproar just because you crave cash, right?”
Thereupon, the elder commanded his son, “Derick, hand this kid one million, make him surrender the marriage contract, and order him to scram!”
“Yes, father.”
Derick nodded, pulled out a check, scribbled a string of digits, flung it at Lionel Yeager’s feet, extended his hand, and demanded, “Grab the check, fork over the marriage contract, and then beat it!”
“Hehe…”
Lionel Yeager gave a chilling chuckle, “Vic Lewis, how magnanimous of you—do you really think a 20-year lifespan merits just one million?”
Vic Lewis’s expression turned grim, “Brat, one million isn’t trivial.”
Lucy Lewis sneered mockingly, “You penniless beggar, how dare you gripe?
A rural hick like you couldn’t make one million in ten or twenty years!”
“Hand over the marriage contract now!”
Cindy Lewis lunged at Lionel Yeager, yanked the marriage contract from his grasp, ripped it to pieces, and trampled the fragments in rage!
Lionel Yeager burst into laughter, his tone icy and piercing, “Cindy Lewis, I hope you never rue today’s actions or come crawling back to me later.”
“Regret?
Beg you?”
Cindy Lewis scoffed derisively, “I’ll never regret today’s deed!
Begging you? Utterly impossible!”
The spectators gazed at Lionel Yeager with scorn and mockery, treating him like a pathetic jester.
The Lewis and Weil families were already betrothed.
What use was this pointless commotion?
Yet right then!
A voice rang out from beyond the door!
“Third Lady of the Stewart Family and Miss Stewart have arrived!”
Hearing this, everyone turned toward the doorway simultaneously.
Two stunning women with poised figures and refined grace entered.
Cindy Lewis appeared dull beside them, like a drab hen next to radiant phoenixes.
Even the other elite young ladies felt overshadowed.
“Isn’t that Third Madam Stewart and Miss Julie Stewart from River City’s premier Stewart Family?
What brings them here?!”
“Heavens, they’re breathtaking, like celestial fairies gracing the mortal realm!”
“Are Lady Stewart and Miss Stewart here for the engagement party?
The Lewis and Weil families wield impressive clout to summon the Stewart Family!”
Guests buzzed with excitement, their gazes fervent upon the pair.
“Ha ha, so Lady Stewart and Miss Stewart have graced us.
Esteemed guests, esteemed guests!”
Vic Lewis approached with a beaming smile.
“Move aside!”
Cindy Lewis shoved Lionel Yeager out of the way and rushed forward to welcome them.
Naturally, not just Lewis family members, but Weil family folks and other notables hurried over too.
The Stewart family dominated River City’s elite, and forging ties promised great advantages.
Yet Julie Stewart and Julia Stewart brushed past everyone, heading directly for Lionel Yeager.
Julie’s face lit up with delight, “Mr. Yeager, I knew you’d be here!”
