Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1310: Asking for Help

The report in Arthur’s hands was already troubling, but what concerned him even more was the lack of information surrounding the tower.
The Order of the Sky Sword had spent years gathering intelligence across the continent, and whenever something unusual happened, they usually had at least a few pieces of information to work with. This time, however, they had almost nothing.
Arthur slowly closed the report. "We need more information."
Mordred nodded. "Should we send another team to Atrium City?"
"No. Not yet."
Arthur glanced toward the fifty-five elite knights who were still training nearby with the weapons provided by the Guardians. Those weapons had given them a powerful new advantage against supernatural creatures, but the knights were still learning how to use them properly.
Sending them toward an unknown structure before they were ready would be reckless.
"We don’t know what that tower is, who controls it, or whether its appearance is connected to the Vampires," Arthur said. "More importantly, we don’t even know whether Atrium City is still under our control."
Mordred frowned. "Are you saying the knights and officials there might have been attacked?"
"If we still don’t hear about them... Then’s that’s possible."
Arthur placed the report on the table before looking at the messenger.
"How many of our officials have reported since the tower appeared?"
The messenger hesitated before answering. "None, Commander."
Mordred frowned after hearing this. "Right..."
"Yes. We have received no response from the governor, the city administrator, or the commander of the city guard."
Arthur already had an idea of what was going on.
"The military communication channels?"
"Nothing."
For several moments, nobody spoke.
Atrium City was an important city within Davai Kingdom. The Order maintained several communication channels there, and even if something had happened to one official, another should have been able to send a report. The fact that every important communication channel had suddenly gone silent was not normal.
Arthur slowly leaned back in his chair.
"It appears Atrium City is no longer under our control."
Mordred clenched his fist. "Could the owner tower have taken over the city?"
"We don’t know... But that’s possible. It’s not really that surprising..."
Arthur’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the report again. "And that’s exactly why we need information from outside the kingdom."
Mordred immediately understood what he meant.
"You want to contact the other organizations."
"Yes."
The Order of the Sky Sword was one of the strongest organizations in Davai Kingdom, but it wasn’t the only organization of its level on the continent. Other kingdoms possessed their own elite forces, some of which were comparable to the Order, while others were even older. Several of them also possessed knowledge and resources that Davai Kingdom did not have.
Fortunately, Arthur now had a way to contact them.
"The World Mirror," Mordred said.
Arthur nodded.
The communication device created by the Guardians was unlike any ordinary magical artifact. The World Mirror could connect distant locations through its ancient formations, allowing people from different kingdoms to communicate without sending messengers across hundreds or even thousands of kilometers.
Normally, access to such an artifact was heavily restricted. However, King Aldric had granted Arthur the authority to use it whenever a threat capable of affecting the kingdom emerged.
The appearance of the Dark Arts Tower certainly qualified.
Arthur immediately ordered the messenger to prepare the communication chamber.
***
The World Mirror was located inside a heavily guarded chamber beneath the royal palace. Unlike an ordinary mirror, its surface was completely black, and ancient runes covered its silver frame. Every few seconds, a faint blue light traveled across the dark surface as if the artifact itself were slowly breathing.
Arthur stood before the mirror with Mordred beside him while several royal guards waited behind them.
Arthur placed his hand against the frame.
"I invoke the authority granted to me by His Majesty, King Aldric of Davai."
The runes surrounding the mirror immediately illuminated.
The black surface began to ripple.
Arthur took a breath before giving his first command.
"Connect me to the White Wolves..."
The mirror trembled, and the darkness covering its surface slowly disappeared.
A completely different room appeared within the mirror.
A woman sat behind a large wooden desk. She appeared to be in her early forties, with long platinum-blonde hair and gray eyes. A black military coat covered her body, and several silver medals were displayed across her chest.
Her name was Svetlana Volskaya, commander of the White Wolf Legion, the strongest military organization of the Kingdom of Varyag.
The White Wolf Legion was not an ordinary army. Its members were elite warriors who had spent years fighting monsters in the frozen northern territories, particularly the creatures that occasionally descended from the Frost Wastes. Svetlana herself was a Grand Knight and one of the most powerful people in the northern kingdoms.
She looked through the mirror and immediately recognized Arthur.
"Arthur. You don’t normally use the World Mirror."
"I wouldn’t have contacted you unless it was important."
Svetlana’s expression became serious. "What happened?"
"A massive black tower appeared outside Atrium City..."
Just like that, Arthur explained everything they had learned, including the enormous amount of Dark Energy surrounding the structure, the ancient runes, the dark mist, and the strange black-armored creatures that had been seen inside.
Svetlana listened without interrupting.
When Arthur finished, she asked, "Is Atrium City still under Davai’s control?"
"I believe that the city has fallen."
"That’s reasonable. I’ll order my scouts to investigate the reports and see whether anything has reached the northern territories. As for that Tower... We have no records about it... But I will ask the Guardians in our region."
"Thank you."
Arthur ended the connection.
He immediately activated the World Mirror again.
This time, he requested a connection to the Empire of Volgrad.
The mirror’s surface changed, revealing a large man standing inside what appeared to be a military command room. He was bald and heavily built, with a massive scar running from his left eyebrow down to his jaw. His dark military uniform was covered with golden insignia.
The man was Lelouch, commander of the Iron Bear Guard.
The Iron Bear Guard was the Empire of Volgrad’s equivalent of the Order of the Sky Sword. Its members specialized in large-scale military operations, monster suppression, and siege warfare, and Lelouch was regarded as one of the most experienced commanders in the empire.
Lelouch immediately recognized Arthur.
"What happened?"
Arthur smiled as he looked at the man in front of him...
Though this person looked like a normal human, he knew very well what was hidden beneath his skin...
