Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1302: Taking Control
Previously on Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy...
Several months had passed since Lisa had arrived in the Valor Realm.
Lisa had already had the ability to resurrect just from a drop of blood...
But the transfer into the Valor Realm had been different.
Even now, she could still remember the sensation of being dragged across the boundary between realms.
Her body had survived the transfer, but her power had not emerged from it unscathed.
The moment she entered the Valor Realm, the Will of the Realm had suppressed her Divinity.
It had been like having an invisible chain wrapped around every part of her existence.
Her connection to her true power had weakened, her recovery had slowed, and even controlling her Vampires had become considerably more difficult than it should have been.
Fortunately, she had Ruth’s people.
The Dawnblades had prepared several safe spaces beneath their headquarters in Atrium City, allowing Lisa to recover without being exposed to the outside world.
For months, she had remained inside one of those chambers.
Now, that period was finally over.
Lisa stood in front of a large mirror inside her room and slowly ran her fingers through her hair.
Most of it remained the same beautiful blonde she had always possessed.
However, several strands had turned white.
She touched one of them before sighing softly.
"How troublesome."
She wasn’t particularly bothered by the change.
If anything, the faint white strands made her appearance seem more mature.
After staring at herself for another moment, Lisa finally turned away from the mirror.
Her body felt completely different from several months ago.
The weakness was gone.
Her movements were smooth again, her senses had returned, and the pressure that had constantly weighed upon her body after the realm transfer had almost completely disappeared.
She still couldn’t use her full Divinity.
The Will of the Valor Realm continued to suppress it.
But at least she could finally leave the safe space.
Lisa walked through the underground passage and eventually reached the surface.
The moment she stepped outside, sunlight touched her face.
She narrowed her eyes slightly.
"Finally."
She had spent too long underground.
Lisa slowly walked through the streets of Atrium City.
The city was considerably different from the places she had known in her previous existence.
There was no dense concentration of mana here.
In fact, there was barely any.
Lisa could occasionally sense traces of Spirit Energy drifting through the surroundings, but compared to the tremendous amount of mana that existed in other realm, it was almost laughable.
She stopped beside a small fountain and closed her eyes for a moment.
She carefully sensed the energy around her.
Spirit Energy... There was very little of it...
As for Mana... It was almost nonexistent.
Lisa opened her eyes.
"I understand now."
She had wondered why Ruth and the others constantly requested Spirit Stones.
The answer was obvious.
For an Arcanist, this world was terrible.
Without sufficient mana, even basic magical techniques would become difficult to perform, while more advanced spells would require enormous amounts of preparation or external energy sources.
If someone had grown accustomed to cultivating with mana, arriving in the Valor Realm would almost feel like being thrown into a desert.
Lisa continued walking.
However, something else caught her attention.
The energy around Atrium City was gradually changing.
It wasn’t much and most ordinary people wouldn’t even notice.
But Lisa could.
There were faint traces of energy gathering around the city, slowly becoming denser than before.
She immediately understood the reason.
Kyle had been sending them to the Dawnblades from time to time.
Their energy was slowly spreading throughout the surrounding area, enriching the otherwise barren environment.
Lisa smiled faintly.
"So that’s what they’ve been doing."
The Divine Crystals were clearly having an effect.
It would take time, but if the supply continued, Atrium City could eventually become one of the most energy-rich areas in the region.
That would benefit the Dawnblades tremendously.
And, naturally, it would benefit Lisa as well.
She continued walking through the city, observing everything around her.
People moved through the streets without realizing that one of the most dangerous beings in their world was walking among them.
Children ran past her and merchants shouted from their stalls.
She also saw some Adventurers gathered outside the guild while guards patrolled the streets.
It was peaceful...
Lisa stopped near the center of the city and looked toward the surrounding buildings.
Then she smiled.
"I guess we should completely take over this city."
The thought had appeared naturally.
Atrium City was already becoming important to the Dawnblades.
There were resources here... People... Adventurers... Officials... Information... and, most importantly, there were countless individuals who could be turned into Vampires.
Lisa didn’t need to conquer the city with an army.
That would be unnecessary.
She could simply take control of the people who controlled it.
The officials, the guards, the administrators, including the influential merchants.
Perhaps even a few people inside the Adventurers Guild and that should be enough.
One by one, they could become hers.
Nobody would need to know.
The city could continue functioning exactly as it always had.
Its citizens would wake up every morning, go to work, visit the markets, and return home without realizing that the people governing their lives had already fallen under the control of the Vampire Queen.
Lisa’s smile widened.
"That would be much easier."
She looked toward the distant Dawnblades headquarters.
Ruth and the others were still busy dealing with their own affairs.
They probably wouldn’t object.
After all, Lisa wasn’t planning to destroy Atrium City.
She intended to make it hers and there was another reason.
The incident in Valenridge had already revealed that someone was moving against them.
The Order of the Sky Sword had begun preparing.
Lisa mused.
If she didn’t have a disguised vampire following the Order of the Sky Sword, she would be completely clueless about their existence at all...
Lisa’s expression became slightly colder.
"Before they realize what is happening... I’ll make sure this entire city belongs to me."
Lisa continued walking through the streets.
Nobody noticed the slight change in her eyes.
Nobody noticed the Vampire Queen passing through their city.
And by the time anyone realized something was wrong, Lisa intended for Atrium City to already be under her control.
