Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1193: The Culprit and the Disciple Candidates

Previously on Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy...
As Marshall Academy falls under a relentless siege by evil spirits, Chad unleashes his draconic aura to purge the possessions without harming the students. While the professors struggle to hold the line against the overwhelming numbers, Vale’s avatars emerge to provide critical support despite the main body's deep meditation. One avatar suppresses a spatial rift identified as the source of the invasion, while another pursues a marked suspect who appears to be an inside agent. Within the academy walls, a third avatar begins a large-scale purification process to end the chaos once and for all.

Vale certainly possessed the power to annihilate these Spirits instantly using Holy Smite, but such a violent method risked inflicting minor damage to the students' souls.

Even though such injuries were negligible and easily mended, he opted for the most cautious approach possible.

The Avatar lifted his hand, channeling his Celestial Art... "Radiant Wave."

A halo of brilliance surged from his palm, expanding rapidly throughout the eastern wing.

This was no destructive spell; it was gentle, yet its authority was absolute. Filaments of glowing energy entwined around every possessed student, softly enveloping their forms to pull the spirit away from the host.

The Evil Spirits let out piercing shrieks as the serene holy energy constricted around them, dragging them out of the bodies they had seized. One after another, they were pulled into the light, their shadowy silhouettes thrashing against the radiant net Vale had woven.

The efficiency of the technique was undeniable!

"Release them," the Avatar commanded, his voice quiet but echoing with undeniable power.

The shimmering veil pulsed, emitting ripples of purifying light. The lesser spirits evaporated on the spot, their wails dissolving into nothingness.

Just like that, the students slumped to the floor, liberated but drained... Fortunately, their souls remained unharmed. Though they had endured significant strain, their spiritual essences were perfectly intact.

Witnessing this, nearby Professors let out gasps of astonishment. "That magic... is it Vale? He is purging the corruption without hurting the vessels!"

The Avatar’s gaze sharpened as he sustained the Spell.

Maintaining such a feat was draining a massive amount of Divinity Points, yet he deemed it a necessary price.

"This is the most secure path. No soul shall be damaged while I am here."

However, a few spirits proved more resilient. They fought back, digging their claws into their hosts and forcing them to strike out even as the radiant veil attempted to extract them.

These were clearly evolved Evil Spirits. To ensure the safety of the students, he realized another intervention was required.

The Avatar’s eyes ignited with the dark glow of Shadow Divinity.

"If you will not leave, I shall bind you."

Chains of darkness manifested from the earth, pinning the spirits where they stood. The students fell unconscious, finally freed but completely sapped of their vitality.

Yet, the tide of spirits continued to surge. Spreading his arms wide, the Avatar called upon his summons.

"Moonlight Specters... rise."

Ethereal figures of pale luminescence manifested, their bodies resembling swirls of silver fog. They dove into the fray, engaging the Evil Spirits in combat.

The students watched in awe as the Specters defended them, their ghostly blades slicing through the shadows with ease!

Watching those Evil Spirits perish under the blades of the Moonlight Specters was a truly gratifying sight!

A professor, bewildered by the mysterious reinforcements, cried out, "Who... who is responsible for this?!"

Chad looked toward the eastern wing and allowed a small smile to form.

"Don’t be alarmed... It’s Vale... or at least one of his Avatars. Excellent. I was hoping for this."

Noticing the look, the Avatar gave a brief nod. "Maintain the center. I will handle the purification of the perimeter."

"Understood!"

The two fought side-by-side against the Evil Spirits... Chad unleashed his Draconic Energy while the Avatar alternated between Celestial Arts for cleansing and Dark Arts for shadow suppression.

Meanwhile, the Second Avatar continued his pursuit of the individual likely behind this catastrophe.

His form, forged of shadow, blurred through the Shadow Domain.

The chase led them into a neighboring town; the culprit was clearly attempting to find a dense population to use as human shields.

"Tsk... There is no escape for you!" the Avatar roared.

The cloaked figure ahead leaped through narrow alleys and over rooftops, frantic to flee the Shadow Domain.

But the mark Vale had branded onto the fugitive’s back glowed dimly. No matter the speed he reached or the illusions he conjured, the Avatar’s vision remained fixed on him.

"Run if you must, but your fate is sealed..." the Avatar whispered, lacing his words with a curse meant to sap the enemy's strength. The magic was so faint that the man didn't realize he'd been hit until the curse took hold of his body.

The fugitive spun around suddenly, throwing a wall of runes across the path to block the way.

"Futile..."

With a blade of pure shadow, the Avatar cleaved through the barrier
