Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1192: Avatar

Chad realized his objective instantly.
Speed was of the essence! Within moments, his dragon blood boiled, and his aura surged outward to encompass the entire Academy. He had no other options; he had to settle this matter personally.
The possessed students began to congregate, their limbs twitching with unnatural movements. Their voices dropped to a guttural pitch, sounding as though they originated from the pits of hell.
"Marshall Academy… belongs to us…" they declared in a haunting unison.
With glowing black eyes, they pressed forward, conjuring corrupted spells in their palms. Fireballs warped into flickering black flames, ice shards wept shadows, and psychic pulses carried the taint of insanity.
The faculty fought to restrain the mob. Professor Kayla, a Grandmaster Arcanist, hoisted her staff to manifest a protective barrier for the younger disciples. "Stay behind me!" she barked.
However, the possessed horde was relentless.
Chad let out a thunderous roar, his dragon aura exploding outward like a shockwave.
The spirits shrieked as his presence scorched them, forcing several to recoil. He dove into the thick of the fight, manifesting a wing composed of pure Draconic Energy…
"Get out of my Academy!"
He lunged at a possessed Third-Class Arcanist, driving an energy claw through the student to pierce the spirit hiding within.
The student slumped to the ground, liberated from the possession but unconscious…
He was carefully utilizing his Draconic Sight and True Strike in tandem with his Divinity, ensuring the students remained unharmed while he targeted only the Evil Spirits inhabiting their frames.
Another spirit lunged at him, attempting to weave a curse.
Chad’s scales hardened instantly, causing the dark magic to deflect harmlessly. It seemed his dragon scales were formidable against more than just physical strikes.
He retaliated with a surge of draconic flame, turning the spirit to ash without singeing the host.
'It worked…' Chad thought, feeling a wave of relief. He had been concerned that the fire might injure the student, but this was a promising start.
Nevertheless, the sheer number of enemies was overwhelming…
Pandemonium gripped the lecture halls. Students were locked in combat, and the possessed were discharging spells indiscriminately. Books were reduced to ash, walls began to crumble, and the internal barriers of the Academy groaned under the pressure of the onslaught.
Professor Kayla signaled the other Grandmasters. "We have to hold the line until Chad can exorcise the spirits!"
Regrettably, the Grandmaster-Class Arcanists lacked an efficient technique for removing Evil Spirits from living hosts.
While they possessed the power to restrain or defeat the students, their methods were far more dangerous than Chad’s specialized approach.
They watched with heavy hearts as the students they struck appeared to be in agonizing pain.
Aware of the risks, they were forced to suppress their full power to avoid accidentally killing their own disciples.
Professor Dalton Stranway gave a grim nod. "But if this possession continues to spread, the Academy will be lost!"
Chad knew his colleagues were right. He needed to act immediately.
He lifted his talisman once more, transmitting a desperate message.
"Vale… if you can hear this, the Academy is under siege. Evil Spirits have invaded. I’m holding them off, but I don’t know how much longer I can last! Send reinforcements…"
Silence was his only reply. Vale’s Avatar was too distant, preoccupied with his own mission… As for the true Vale, Chad had no way to reach him inside the Immortal Tower. Vale was currently engaged in a perilous meditation, and Chad didn't dare risk disturbing him.
Chad clenched his jaw. "Then I’ll have to do it myself."
The Half-Dragon Immortal finally released the full extent of his aura.
His physique expanded, scales creeping up his arms and neck as his eyes ignited with draconic brilliance.
"Spirits! You dare to trespass here?!"
The Evil Spirits shrieked, their cries echoing throughout the Academy grounds. While some attempted to flee, others grew even more violent, forcing more students into a state of possession.
Chad charged the largest cluster, his Draconic Energy claws shredding through the spectral entities...
Every blow he landed released a purifying fire, incinerating the spirits and severing their connection to the hosts.
One by one, students collapsed, freed from the dark influence but drained by the ordeal.
Only the Dark Arts Students managed to maintain some level of resistance, having previously encountered Darkness Possession in their studies.
"Hold your ground!" Chad bellowed to the faculty. "Guard those who are still untainted! I will take care of the rest!"
The conflict continued for hours.
Chad fought without pause, his dragon blood providing him with endless stamina.
He burned, tore, and roared, cleansing spirit after spirit. The professors maintained the perimeter, protecting the youngest children. The very foundation of the Academy shook under the collision of Immortal power and tainted souls.

Meanwhile, as Chad and the professors were occupied with the wave of Evil Spirits, three of Vale’s Avatars had already commenced their covert operations…
They had recently emerged from the Immortal Tower, acting on Vale’s orders to safeguard the Academy.
Even though he was in a deep meditative state to heal his fractured soul, he remained conscious of the external chaos.
His delayed reaction was due to the delicate process of splitting his soul to create another Avatar—a critical moment where any interruption could be fatal.
Currently, the First Avatar was hunting for a specific target…
The Avatar glided through the city streets, his shadow-like form weaving through the madness. His eyes shimmered as he tracked the scent of corrupted energy.
Eventually, he came to a halt before a dilapidated warehouse.
The atmosphere here was thick enough to suffocate a normal person. A toxic miasma seemed to radiate from the interior… and at the center of the structure was a massive rift in space.
"I’ve found it…" he whispered.
Dark fog billowed from the tear, and with every throb of energy, more Evil Spirits attempted to break through.
The Avatar smirked upon confirming the location. "So this is the origin… A spatial crack. This was opened by design."
He moved closer, his fingers grazing the jagged, unstable edges of the rift. The energy seared his skin.
"This wasn't an accident. The Academy's defenses should have prevented this. That means…" He paused, his tone dropping. "This was an inside job. Someone who understands the Shadow Domain tampered with the barrier. This is getting interesting…"
The Avatar lifted his hand, channeling his Divinity to restrict the flow of energy. While he wasn't a specialist in spatial or Arcane magic of this nature, he could at least contain the rift.
"Sealing this entirely will take time… but I can prevent more spirits from escaping."
Unfortunately, Cyper and the other Time Manipulators and Immortals under his command were currently engaged in a different secret mission. Their task was vital, and they could not be called away.
The burden fell on him alone.
He pressed his palm against the void, and his Divinity flared with power. The crack shrieked as if it were a sentient being, resisting him, but the tide of spirits finally slowed to a stop.
"That should keep them contained. Whoever is responsible for this… I will find you."

Elsewhere, far from the Academy, the second Avatar sprinted through the streets, his body flickering like a ghost in the shadows.
Ahead of him, a hooded figure ran frantically, trying to flee the Shadow Domain.
The Avatar’s eyes narrowed. A faint mark glowed on the runner's back—the mark of Divine Sense.
"You can try to run, but you are already marked," the Avatar murmured.
The figure cast a panicked look behind him. He threw up barriers, cast illusions, and used bursts of speed to escape, but the Avatar sliced through his defenses effortlessly.
"Who is your master?" the Avatar questioned…
He had several suspects in mind, though he didn't want to jump to conclusions.
As expected, the perpetrator remained silent, pushing himself even harder as forbidden runes began to glow on his skin.
'Runes? Are you trying to deceive me?' Vale thought. The activation of the runes felt forced, a clear attempt to trick him into believing the culprit was a Runemaster.
Regardless, the Avatar remained unfazed.
'You are branded. Even if you leave this Domain, we will find you. Your soul is marked.'
He raised his arm, unleashing a wave of shadows to hinder the fugitive. The man stumbled, barely keeping his feet.
Suddenly, the figure pulled out a crystal vibrating with violent energy, forcing Vale to hesitate.
'Is that a Divine Crystal rigged as a bomb?' Vale wondered. He realized the object could be catastrophic, not just for the city, but for himself.
As the second Avatar weighed his options against the potential culprit, the third Avatar appeared within the Academy walls.
He observed Chad battling in the courtyard. The dragon aura was immense, but even Chad couldn't be everywhere at once.
In the eastern wing, students were screaming as powerful spirits shattered their defenses and took control.
The Avatar raised his hand. "Purification."
A blinding wave of light erupted from his hand, washing over the possessed. The spirits shrieked in terror, realizing they were about to be erased.
Predictably, the spirits attempted to abandon their hosts to avoid the light. Some tried to fight back using the students' magic as shields, but they were ultimately overwhelmed.
It was a tedious process, but Vale began to win.
"Tsk…"
Vale was frustrated by how slowly the purification was progressing.
"I have no other choice… I need to end this now…" Vale’s Avatar decided. He prepared to expend half of his remaining Divinity to manifest a massive Celestial Art!
