Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1133: The Organizations and the Paranormal Activity

Previously on Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy...
Sabrina Hoffman orchestrated a sinister plan involving a Forbidden Book, instructing the Pontiff to teach Cassian and Selene its contents before they entered the Marshall Academy. She connected her shadows to the five Sorcerers and their disciples, allowing her to watch their every move. Meanwhile, word of a prophecy surrounding the Academy spread, prompting various factions to send their elite youths to study there, much to Vale's satisfaction as he prepared for a significant undertaking at the beginning of the Academic Year. The convergence of dark forces and emerging destinies set the stage for a transformative era ahead.

Soon, Vale heard from the various agents of the Arcane Bureau that beyond the factions, the great organizations were also moving...

The Shadow Consortium, whose talisman papers were prized across the continent, dispatched their heirs. For them, it was not only prestige but strategy... If their scions learned alongside the continent’s brightest, they would secure dominance in both trade and knowledge.

The Brotherhood of the Scarlet Serpent, famed for their elite security services and monopoly over Utara’s Serpent Herb, sent their young warriors and alchemists. To them, the Academy was a proving ground, a place to show that their discipline and resources could stand shoulder to shoulder with the continent’s finest, and of course, it was to show their loyalty to Vale himself.

Still, some concerning organizations had also joined in.

The Silent Threads Organization, masters of espionage and infiltration, made a rare move into the open. Their young operatives, trained in various Arcane Arts, were dispatched to learn openly for the first time.

According to the Agent of the Arcane Bureau, their elders said that,

"They’re not wrong..." Vale thought to himself after reading through the report.

Nonetheless, others followed after hearing this gathering of geniuses.

The Emerald Guild, dominant in potion‑making and rare herb cultivation, sent their heirs... probably to secure new alchemical formulas.

The Ironveil Forge, famed for enchanted weapons and armor, dispatched apprentices to learn combat arts alongside mystic theory.

Even the Celestial Quill Society from Pallham Empire, who were also keepers of ancient texts and lore, sent their young and talented scribes, probably to record and study the Academy’s unfolding destiny.

There were simply too many organizations, and Vale could only guess their intention. Still, he didn’t mind having more students.

This was all for their sake after all.

By the end of the season, caravans and ships from every corner of the continent were moving toward Clovis City and attend the Marshall Academy.

Children bearing bloodlines, affinities, and destinies that had never before converged in one place were gathering.

Of course, some came willingly while others reluctantly... However, all of them understood that for some reason, this was where the future would be decided.

All this time, Sabrina Hoffman watched that situation. She remained hidden within the shadows of his Sorcerers and their disciples.

She knew the Academy would be the stage where her plans unfolded, and where Vale’s path would inevitably cross hers once more.

A few days later, as Clovis City was getting busy because more and more visitors would arrive for the upcoming academy year, Armin walked through the foggy streets of Veldenport City, the faint salt of the harbor was still clinging to his coat but he no longer felt uncomfortable about it...

The mission he had just completed, a minor exorcism in the merchant district, had left him weary but satisfied.

The small nation under the Thalore Principality was somewhat filled with restless spirits, mostly from sailors’ spirits... His work as a Paranormal Investigator was never truly finished.

As he made his way back to his office, he couldn’t help but recall the news he had overheard earlier that day.

Word had spread even here, far from Clovis City, that the Marshall Academy was preparing to gather geniuses from across the continent. His master’s Academy was definitely being recognized all over the world.

Armin smiled faintly at the thought. He had already graduated, but the idea of the Academy brimming with talent stirred something in him.

Perhaps he should have considered teaching there instead of wandering through haunted alleys and cursed estates.

It would have been lively, and he could have guided the next generation directly. Still, his path had led him here, and he had no regrets.

He pushed open the door to his office. The familiar surroundings made him relax a bit more. On his desk lay a folded note, hastily written by his colleagues.

Armin chuckled softly, shaking his head. His friends were always eager to rush into danger. He set the note aside, removed his gloves, and sat comfortably on his chair...

Still, the silence lasted only a moment.

A knock echoed against the door.

Armin straightened, sensing the urgency behind it.

"Come in," he called.

The door opened, and a man stepped inside. His face was pale, and his eyes had also sunken from sleepless nights. He looked really terrible, and Armin could guess what had happened. It was always related to Evil Spirits.

Then the man bowed quickly while clutching his hat in trembling hands. Although Armin looked so young, he didn’t mind at all.

"Are you... Armin, the Paranormal Expert?" the man asked...

Armin nodded. "That’s what they call me. What troubles you?"

The man heaved a sigh of relief and immediately explained. "It’s my friend. He’s... not himself. Something is inside him... It might be a spirit. We tried priests, healers, even charms from the local talisman shop, but nothing worked. He speaks in voices that aren’t his own, and at night, shadows gather around him. Please... I was told only you could help."

Armin paused for a moment after hearing this...

He had heard such pleas before, but the gathering of Shadows seemed suspicious. There must be something more to this... He wanted to wait for Rehan and Ely but with the Dark Spirit with him, he believed that he could try this alone.

"Possession, then..." Armin said quietly. "Tell me everything. When did it start? What signs have you seen?"

The man’s voice trembled as he recounted the details...

Armin listened carefully, and his mind started piecing together the possibilities. A wandering spirit?

’No... These are the signs that the master mentioned before...’ Armin frowned. Although he wasn’t sure, it seemed that one of the demonic spirits of the Seven Deadly Sins had arrived here!

His Master Vale had previously mentioned to him how he had dealt with Pride, Gluttony, and Sloth...

He also helped him identify their signs.

Still, Armin was only guessing, so he needed to check it out...
