The Infinity, having escaped a volcanic region, is damaged and experiencing internal structural issues. KIKI and Ryuji are suffering from psychic overload but are being treated. The ship is now traveling through a stable jet stream, which Viola calculates will lead them towards Queensland Island. Despite the dangers outside, Lin Xian decides to rest, leaving Viola in charge.

A cold sweat broke out on Lin Xian’s skin with that thought, so he decided to push it aside. He felt that going with the flow was the best approach in their current predicament. The Jingyuan Vortex Channel felt like an underwater superhighway, significantly safer than a panicked flight. Breaking the surface now would yield no land, nor could they deploy the Sky Dome. Letting nature take its course was the wiser option, especially given his physical exhaustion and the relief of no personnel losses on the Infinity and Northern 09. He resolved to get some sleep.

Lin Xian’s heart felt at ease; even with the abyss outside, he was confident he could sleep.

Unexpectedly, as Lin Xian made his way to Car No. 1, Shi Zhi followed swiftly, her small steps trailing him like a nurse with an IV drip, continuously channeling her Healing Ability to aid his recovery.

After a few steps, Lin Xian paused, turned, and said,

"I’m going to rest for a bit. Shi Zhi, you should go assist others."

Shi Zhi shook her head. "No, I sense something amiss with your spirit. My intuition insists I must fully restore you."

"Spirit problem?" Lin Xian frowned, his gaze shifting to Chen Sixuan. "Do you think something is wrong with me?"

Chen Sixuan’s face held a look of concern. "Viola and I are watching. You should heed Shi Zhi's advice."

Lin Xian observed Shi Zhi’s determined expression and, saying nothing further, exited the cockpit. He entered the bedroom in Car No. 1, removed his Power Armor, and collapsed onto the soft bed. A sigh escaped him as he stared at the ceiling. The bedroom featured a Star Dust Glass porthole. Peering out, he noticed the luminous blue plankton had vanished, leaving only darkness, illuminated solely by the interior lights of the car.

Utterly silent and void of any trace, they were nonetheless caught in a massive, high-speed ocean current. Outside lay a bottomless abyss, devoid of any marine life.

Loneliness, absolute silence, oppression, unending unknowns, and the dread of the deep sea descended.

Shi Zhi followed Lin Xian into the bedroom and settled onto a chair beside the bed. Despite her own fatigue, she continued to heal him tirelessly, maintaining her focus without uttering a word.

"Did you ever imagine traveling through the deep sea by train?" Lin Xian’s words seemed directed at Shi Zhi, yet also sounded like musings spoken aloud.

Shi Zhi nodded, but Lin Xian, facing away, did not see the gesture, leaving her response unacknowledged.

"Shi Zhi, danger surrounds us on all sides. Aren’t you afraid?" Lin Xian inquired, his gaze fixed on the darkness beyond the porthole.

"No," Shi Zhi replied softly.

"Why not?"

"Because..." Shi Zhi paused, considering her words. "Shinji once said that even if Blue Star ceased to exist, if the atmosphere vanished and the oceans dried up, Silent City would still traverse the stars. He vowed to create a sanctuary as we journeyed through the star systems. We can face any peril because Silent City is our home. This feeling... it’s wonderful."

Lin Xian grew quiet for a moment after hearing her words, murmuring, "Yes, that sounds truly appealing. I've harbored similar thoughts."

The concept of constructing a formidable steel train, integrating residential cars with resource, medical, cultivation, energy, and production modules into an invincible fortress train, fully armed, capable of fleeing eastward along the 320,000 kilometers of Star Orbital. Even if halted, its fortress-like armor could repel hordes of zombies and mysterious dark threats!

It was a notion both romantically grand and audaciously wild!

Recalling the idea, Lin Xian found Mochizuki Masashi’s inspiration deeply resonant. Perhaps his Mechanical Superpower should indeed explore such a direction.

For instance...

What was that thing in the Research and Development Center...

Planet Titan?
