Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train Chapter 1158 - 446: Jingyuan Vortex Channel

A single frame from the surveillance feed plunged Lin Xian and KIKI into an atmosphere of intense dread, the colossal eye of a monstrous entity filling the screen from the abyssal depths.
Witnessing this, KIKI held her breath, the immense pupil seeming to fixate upon the surveillance system's power conduit, or perhaps the shadowy silhouette of the triangular-headed beast.
However, this terrifying glimpse lasted mere milliseconds before the surveillance screen abruptly froze, then went dead.
Even on KIKI's mobile device, the image of a pupil, akin to a faint abyssal lantern, persisted, radiating an unnerving pressure.
Lin Xian and KIKI exchanged a look as the tremors around them and the sounds of combat from the upper passage ceased in unison.
"Lin Xian, the pathways to the upper laboratory and living quarters have significantly collapsed. We've dealt with one monster and temporarily contained the anomaly, but... we're trapped," Chen Sixuan's voice crackled through the earpiece.
The upper echelons of the base were devastated, buildings reduced to rubble, dust motes dancing in the air, and dangling lamps showering sparks. The main route to the lower base was completely choked with the remains of Abnormal Bodies cocooned in dark miasma. Chen Sixuan, Qian Deli, and their escort team stared fixedly at the blocked passage, all of them holding their breath.
"That dark vermin retreated again. Should we give chase?" Shu Qin voiced her concern, "This entity doesn't seem ordinary, and its presence within the flood control tunnels poses a clear danger to us."
"We cannot pursue it," Qian Deli stated, shaking his head as he solemnly surveyed the chaotic scene. "Simply avoiding detection is already a formidable challenge; we cannot afford to draw the attention of those monstrosities. If we are marked again, our defenses will crumble entirely."
"My apologies."
Ryan of the Hawk Sea Group stepped forward, nudging a piece of Abnormal Body remains with his boot. He turned to Chen Sixuan and the others, remarking, "We cannot initiate the Crystal Grid Power; our offensive capabilities will be severely hampered."
"Activating it would be futile," Monica interjected calmly. "Our current predicament isn't about combat power, but about remaining concealed."
"Precisely," Chen Sixuan agreed, preparing to manage the aftermath. He turned his attention back to the communication channel, addressing Lin Xian once more:
"Lin Xian, what's the situation on your end?"
"Currently stable," Lin Xian replied. "Teacher Chen, assemble everyone, secure the upper passages, and then evacuate all personnel to the lower levels."
"Understood."
After concluding his conversation with Chen Sixuan, Lin Xian promptly re-established contact with Viola.
[Reconnaissance drones have detected a significant influx of Abnormal Bodies entering the Island's radar perimeter.]
Above, the Sea Rock Prison teemed with numerous unspeakable Abnormal Bodies engaged in a thorough search. A multitude of aerial drones, under Viola's command, had ceased their offensive actions. Viola was concealed behind a crumbling wall, directing the high-altitude drones to meticulously scan the surrounding island in every direction.
Although night had not yet fallen, the entire Island bore an apocalyptic aura. Heavy, polluted storm clouds loomed, suffocating the land. The sunlight seemed to be entirely absorbed by some colossal entity, leaving none to penetrate. The ocean below churned like an inkwell stirred black—thick and sluggish, tossing immense waves and ripples.
A torrential downpour commenced, and through the watery veil, countless dark shapes emerged from the sea, breaching the surface. These were colossal limbs, slick with mucus, their joints adorned with clusters of pupil-less, swollen eyes that ceaselessly opened and closed. Great, writhing masses of tentacles, studded with suckers and fangs, resembled viscera dredged from the deepest abyssal tombs.
These Abnormal Bodies, beyond human comprehension, appeared to be grotesque amalgamations of deep-sea fauna—artificially constructed, stitched together, mutated, and diverged.
The entire island began to tremble as the beaches subsided and churned by gargantuan creatures, now coated in thick, fetid silt. The island's forests and mountains were uprooted and torn asunder. Within the drone footage, only indistinct massive black silhouettes could be discerned, converging from all directions through the curtain of rain.
"Viola."
[I am here.]
"Retreat entirely underground. Cease all resistance."
[Viola understands.]
Within the passage, Lin Xian observed the unfolding scenes at the energy conduit and the prison, alongside the clashes near Chen Sixuan's position. He deduced that a 'Giant Ocean God' had manifested in the Southeast Sea Area. The abnormal behavior of monsters in all surrounding seas amidst the storm further underscored the critical urgency of their situation.
The hunt, it seemed, was about to commence!
Under these dire circumstances, any form of resistance seemed futile. All that remained was to brace themselves and await their fate within this subterranean submarine sanctuary.
Within the intermediate levels of the subterranean stronghold, a congregation of more than six hundred individuals from the Hawk Sea Group and Infinity convened, the majority hailing from the Hawk Sea Group.
Diverse office sectors and former relaxation zones were densely populated. A significant volume of provisions and apparatus, conveyed by a mechanical contingent under Azir's command from the Hawk Sea Group, occupied nearly every available laboratory space.
The subterranean expanse resonated with heavy breaths. These members of the Hawk Sea Group exhibited superior organization compared to typical survivor factions. Distinct departments were established for weaponry, logistics, medical services, engineering, and even intelligence gathering, ensuring order amidst their multitude. No disorder ensued following Ryan’s directive.
Within the command center, key personnel, comprising Infinity’s members alongside Ryan, Vanessa, Gedi, and Erica of the Hawk Sea Group, were engaged in strategic deliberations. Every contingency had failed, and the present predicament appeared to offer no alternative path forward for any of them.
