Apocalypse Gachapon Chapter 2253: A few minutes
Previously on Apocalypse Gachapon...
The two sides in conflict were, naturally, the Huo'er Star people and the Su Clan-small race alliance.
The cause of the conflict was friction that arose while both sides were cleaning up the battlefield.
Earlier, the two sides had been locked in chaotic combat, and the dead and severely wounded were all mixed. During the process of treating the injured and retrieving the bodies, the rescue teams from each side inevitably encountered one another, and friction naturally arose from those encounters.
Just moments ago, everyone had been fighting life-and-death battles; every person was stained with the blood and lives of the other side, and some members of the rescue teams had even faced off and fought each other earlier.
Now that they had just stopped and met again, how could there not be underlying hostility?
Add to that the fact that being so close, both sides wanted to tend to their own people first, and with neither yielding, conflict was almost unavoidable.
So two rescue squads went from arguing to throwing punches, which gradually developed into surrounding rescue teams coming over to help, forming a small-scale melee of several hundred people.
And more soldiers from both sides were rushing toward the area.
By the time both leaders, Kunzuo and Jie Su, arrived on the scene, several dozen bodies were already lying on the ground.
"I'm giving you face, aren't I!"Kunzuo was furious.
He had every right to be.
Over these past few days, as a peak expert, he had truly felt stifled.
First, he had been severely wounded by a strange formation, losing many of his subordinates in the process. Then, after emerging, he had been forced to negotiate with the other side.
Although they were compensating him, if he had been in good physical condition, Kunzuo would have had better ways to force them to comply.
And after recovering for a few days, with his injuries somewhat improved, Kirsailting had come to stir things up. Although Kunzuo had ultimately prevailed, his injuries were now worse than before, and his physical energy, stamina, and mental strength had been depleted even further.
So much so that Kunzuo now did not dare to actively seek out the Su Clan people to continue extorting them, for fear of provoking another conflict.
He was confident he could kill them, but he truly could not bear the losses on his own side.
If he returned this time and Prince Zimu had also died, along with hundreds of thousands of soldiers, he would have no way to account for it. Even as a peak expert, he would likely face severe punishment.
Now, however, the two sides had already settled down. After cleaning up the battlefield, they would leave, and by the time the Reina Star people arrived, they would find no one. Once outside, they could use the excuse that a powerful lifeform had appeared here, forcing them to retreat, and thereby completely clear themselves of suspicion.
But now conflict had erupted again, and Kunzuo could not even tend to his wounds.
There was no help for it; after this battle, he truly dared not underestimate the Su Clan and the small-race alliance. Although they had no peak expert, just count how many great experts they had!
Jie Su, White Robe, White Dragon Horse, Leilei Bird, Luo Zhisu, and the two Star-Eye leaders; seven in total!
And their number of soldiers was also higher than the Huo'er Star people's, which could fully compensate for any deficiencies in individual combat capability.
If anyone else stepped forward, they could no longer suppress the other side.
But despite the situation, the peak expert's overwhelming pressure and confidence were still there, so Kunzuo delivered a show of force right from the start.
Kunzuo did not want conflict; did Jie Su's side want it?
They did not either.
The preliminary casualty reports had already made their livers ache. Fighting on until one side was defeated? That was truly impossible.
Unless they had an overwhelming advantage, they would never start a fight; not even if it meant paying compensation.
No one said it aloud, but it had already become a consensus.
Faced with the enraged Kunzuo, even Jie Su did not know what to say for a moment.
The reality was right there. Could he say to Kunzuo, "Our people died too, why don't you mention that?"
That would only push things in a worse direction.
"Give us a little time. We'll give you an explanation."
At this moment, Ye Zhongming suddenly stepped forward and made such a promise.
In the past, Kunzuo would have swatted him away with one slap, but now he truly did not dare, because almost all the high-ranking leaders and great experts on the other side were connected to him. Touching Ye Zhongming would be tantamount to declaring war.
"I don't have that much time," Kunzuo said with a wooden expression.
"Just a few minutes." Ye Zhongming replied with a smile.
Then, he signaled for Jie Su and the others to fall back to their own camp.
"Old Ye, what are you thinking?" White Robe had recovered quite a bit, having taken medicine and received treatment. Although not in perfect condition, he now felt reasonably okay.
Jie Su and the other high-ranking Su Clan members also looked over. They were now truly full of admiration for Ye Zhongming.
He now had two great-expert-level battle beasts, while Lord Eye and White Robe were of the same clan as him, and Jie Su was his brother. Upon closer thought, he was truly the core.
"Medicine!"
In his hand appeared two pills, which he handed to the two Star-Eye leaders.
Although the two clan leaders could still walk and talk normally, their bodies had been "hollowed out," and they could not fight. Using the phenomenon to enhance their attacks was not something easily controlled.
"What is it?" The two leaders were startled, but they took them and asked.
"Qingfu, a six-turn medicine."
Ye Zhongming said casually, but the others were no longer so calm upon hearing it.
Qingfu was a full-recovery potion that could greatly restore various bodily functions, and even had a slight effect of reducing skill cooldowns.
This was considered a precious medicine, very expensive.
"Take it." Ye Zhongming said no more and took out two more pills, this time handing them to Jie Su and White Robe.
"Chongli Pills, three-turn, suitable for your recovery."
After handing the medicine to his two brothers, Ye Zhongming took out two small pouches.
"Nutrient supplements."
These were nutrient supplements specifically for battle beasts, roughly equivalent to the Chongli Pills and Qingfu, with the same effect of rapid recovery.
White Dragon Horse and Leilei Bird both obediently swallowed the jelly-like contents of the small pouches.
With the Changxu Water Race supporting him from behind, the medicine in Ye Zhongming's hands made others envious. Although he did not have many six-turn medicines, he still had a little stockpile.
Everyone had received recovery potions, except for Luo Zhisu.
"Old Ye, what exactly are you trying to do?"
If there was no battle, then everyone's injuries would heal with time anyway; the only difference was how long it took, and there was no need to waste these valuable medicines. The fact that Ye Zhongming was having them take them now surely meant something was up. The others, like White Robe, who had asked the question, all looked at Ye Zhongming with some tension.
The Cloud Peak King turned around and looked toward the Huo'er Star side, meeting Kunzuo's gaze. Ye Zhongming smiled at him, signaling that it would be ready shortly.
Then he turned back, and his expression changed.
"Since things have come this far, I think we might as well go all the way and finish off the Huo'er Star people once and for all."
"It's better for Elder Huozhi to come back now."
"I really don't want to pay that five-point-five billion."
"I also don't want to face endless wrangling and extortion after we get out."
"Also, I want the Fallen Saint Bow."
