Leon and Dusk escape the null mana zone on the stairs, only to find charred skeletons at the top. Realizing the intense heat behind the door, Leon adapts his body to withstand it and enters alone. Inside, he discovers Diamond Garler's blood and witnesses two colossal monsters, a Bullmaster Monitor and a Diamond Garler, locked in a brutal battle.

The bullmaster monitor swiftly retaliated, unleashing a powerful tail strike against the diamond Garler’s hardened knuckles.

*THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD*

In mere seconds, the bullmaster monitor delivered five rapid blows to the same spot. This relentless assault forced the Garler into a defensive stance, compelled to block and retreat.

"Woah... He's fast," Leon murmured, subtly shifting his position to gain a better vantage point of the unfolding battle.

*SWISH-

*Grab*

Before the Bullmaster could launch another tail attack, the Garler intercepted it with his hand. A swift twist, and before the bullmaster monitor could even react, it was airborne.

With immense strength, the diamond Garler began to spin the monitor through the air, using its own tail as a weapon.

*SWISH-SWISH-SWISH*

Letting go, the bullmaster monitor was sent hurtling towards a colossal mountain composed of jagged, black obsidian.

*THUDDDDDDD*

"GWAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..." The monitor bellowed in pain as the obsidian shards pierced its hide.

*Step-Step-Step*

The Garler staggered back, eventually collapsing onto the ground, a significant amount of its green ichor spilling from its wounds.

*THUDD*

‘They’re both equally injured,’ Leon mused, observing Garler with a serious expression.

‘Nay… ‘Tis I who am the more grievously wounded,’ a disembodied voice suddenly echoed within Leon’s mind.

"What...?" Leon exclaimed, startled, his gaze snapping back in confusion.

‘How art thou even alive within this chamber? Thou art a lesser life form and shall not be permitted to exist within this sacred environment.’

‘Is this telepathy?’ Leon inquired mentally, directing his attention towards the Garler.

‘Thy tongue is unknown to me, yet I send forth magical signals unto thy mind, and they are transformed into thine own native tongue without effort. The same doth occur when thou speakest unto me.’

‘A higher form of telepathy…’ Leon’s expression grew more intense.

‘Why do you two fight? If you don’t mind me asking,’ Leon projected his thoughts.

‘This battle is not new to us… Kumigano and I, Lesrath, have waged war since ages long forgotten. For nigh upon five hundred thousand years hath this struggle endured — fought for dominion over this very chamber. Yet now… at this very moment… it shall finally reach its end. Kumigano’s wounds are lesser than mine own, aye… but I, Lesrath, am gravely wounded,’ Lesrath responded. He leaned against another obsidian peak, revealing a deep gash near his abdomen.

It was a vulnerable spot, unprotected by diamonds, and it was hemorrhaging green blood.

‘You really are injured… Take another blow there, and you won’t be able to recover,’ Leon observed, his gaze fixed on Lesrath.

‘Thou art correct… should I suffer but one more fatal blow upon this very wound, mine end shall come without delay,’ Lesrath replied, his tone laced with defeat.

‘Wait… Wait… Wait… Maybe I can help you. I have a healing spell that could probably mend your wounds,’ Leon offered immediately, a plan rapidly forming in his mind.

‘Thou jests… There is no possible way that small vessel of thine holds mana enough to mend mine wounds, I, Lesrath the giant. Thou shouldst flee before mine end comes… For once I perish, this chamber shall no longer be fit for the living. Kumigano shall seize dominance and fill every corner of this place with his vile poison,’ Lesrath stated tonelessly.

‘Trying doesn’t cost anything… If I succeed, you’ll be fully healed. If I fail, you’re dying anyway,’ Leon countered, his expression unreadable.

‘Aye… thou speakest true. But what reason hast thou to help one such as I? What dost thou seek in return?’ Lesrath inquired, a note of bewilderment in his voice.

‘How about we discuss that later… That Kumigano is waking up again,’ Leon said, gesturing towards Kumigano, who was stirring.

Kumigano was regaining consciousness, rising unsteadily and shaking its head vigorously.

‘Speak then… what wouldst thou have of me?’ Lesrath demanded.

‘Extend your hand over here so I can touch it,’ Leon instructed calmly.

Without further words, Lesrath raised his hand, bringing it close to Leon.

Without losing another moment, Leon placed both hands upon Lesrath’s diamond-encrusted knuckles and channeled his skill.

"Heal."

<Minor Heal>

[WARNING: HOST HAS USED THE SPELL ON A VERY STRONG ALLY. HUGE AMOUNTS OF MANA WILL BE CONSUMED IN ORDER TO HEAL THE ALLY.]

[WOULD YOU LIKE TO CONTINUE ?][YES/NO ?]

"Yes." The instant Leon confirmed, he felt an overwhelming sensation as the mana within him was rapidly depleted, only to begin regenerating simultaneously.

Intense headaches began to pound in Leon’s skull, his vision blurring and fading.

'N-No... Just a little more. If I can heal him, I will be able to achieve something much greater... This pain is nothing, Leon.' He thought, his legs beginning to tremble, but his resolve remained unshaken.

*SHHHHHHHHHH*

Suddenly, Lesrath’s entire body began to emit a bright green glow, and all of his wounds started to close. Though the process was gradual, they were mending at an incredible pace.

'Thou hast surprised me... thou art far stronger than thine appearance wouldst suggest. I, Lesrath, shall never forget thy kindness.' Lesarath replied, noticing Kumigano advancing towards him once more.

"KREEEEKKKKKKKKKK..." Kumigano shrieked, as if sensing Lesarath's healing.

*THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD*

Kumigano’s tail started to glow a vivid purple as it charged towards Lesarath with full force.

"Haah..." Leon exhaled deeply, finally succumbing to unconsciousness from the severe headache.

*THUD*

*SHHHHH*

Lesarath rose from the ground, completely healed, and began to flex his diamond-hardened knuckles.

"KREEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK..." Kumigano halted precisely 200 meters from Lesarath and swung its luminous tail towards Lesarath’s midsection.

"BHAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN...." Lesarath bellowed, immediately clenching his fist and, this time, instead of blocking, launching a full-force punch at Kumigano’s tail.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
