Leon and Dusk encounter a Vadizard, a D-ranked monster, further into the forest. Dusk then discovers a Worldroot Tree, an S-ranked plant, that is trapped within an unknown SS-rank dungeon. Despite Dusk's warnings about the extreme danger, Leon decides to accept a quest to enter the dungeon and rescue the tree.

"U-Umm... What Master?" Dusk inquired, his expression a picture of bewilderment.

"Inquire with the tree to grant us passage into the dungeon so we may liberate its other half," Leon responded, a grin playing on his lips.

"Master... The dungeon is-" Before Dusk could finish his sentence, his paw unexpectedly sank into the tree's sturdy trunk.

"Ah, observe... the tree has forged an entrance; let us proceed," Leon declared, plunging into the tree's core without a moment's hesitation.

"Damn it," Dusk muttered, following Leon's lead into the tree.

"Wooooohooooooooooo...." Leon's jubilant cry echoed as he slid down the tree's interior, much like a thrilling amusement park attraction.

Dusk trailed behind, his face a mask of calm indifference.

*Thud-Thud*

They emerged on the opposite side, a sudden brightness momentarily blinding them.

"What in the world?" Leon exclaimed, slowly adjusting his vision to find himself situated in a vast, open grassland.

The sun blazed overhead, and a gentle breeze swept across the landscape.

"Is this truly a dungeon?" Leon questioned, rising to his feet. He turned, his gaze landing upon the sole tree gracing the expanse – the Worldroot.

It stood as the solitary tree in the entirety of the grassland.

"This is a realm contained within the dungeon, Master... I surmise it serves as a respite area. Such zones are not uncommon in these dungeons," Dusk elucidated.

"I was unaware these areas harbored kingdoms," Leon remarked, his tone level as he gestured southward.

"What kingd-" The moment Dusk turned his head in the indicated direction, his eyes widened in sheer astonishment.

"T-That's impossible... A kingdom nestled within a dungeon. It... it simply cannot be," Dusk stammered, his brow furrowed in confusion as he struggled to comprehend the scene.

"Let us venture forth and investigate," Leon proposed with a smile, already commencing his walk towards the distant kingdom.

"Master... We ought to exercise caution; we have no knowledge of the denizens residing within-"

"Hey, glance over there – some children are playing," Leon interjected, pointing towards a group of youngsters.

Among them were human children, elves, and beastkin.

"Now that is a peculiar assembly of youths I've never witnessed before. Dusk, revert to your feline form," Leon commanded.

"As you command, Master," Dusk replied. He promptly shifted, his form contracting rapidly.

Within mere seconds, he transformed into a small, ebony cat.

Together, they proceeded towards the children...

"You cannot do that; it constitutes cheating!" the human boy declared earnestly.

"Nonsense, nonsense... I made contact with the stone first, thus I triumph, and you concede. Now, cease your tears," the elf girl retorted cheerfully, observing him.

"No, I was referring to the magic... You employed magic, did you not?" the boy inquired, his expression grave.

"I-I did not utilize any magic... Y-You are fabricating falsehoods," the elf girl stammered, her gaze flicking towards him.

"I believe you did... Even I cannot achieve such swiftness," a beastkin boy chimed in, watching her.

"I-I did not employ magic... Why do you all insist on falsehoods?" the elf girl protested, tears beginning to well in her eyes.

"And what is so wrong with employing magic?" Leon's voice carried from a distance.

All the children swiftly turned their heads towards him, their faces etched with confusion.

"Is magic not considered a beneficial art?" Leon inquired amicably, approaching the children.

"You are not from around here, are you?" one of the human children asked, grasping Leon's right hand and examining it with puzzled curiosity.

"How could you possibly know?" Leon questioned, his expression unreadable as his gaze fell upon the tattoo adorning the child's right hand.

The marking bore a striking resemblance to a sigil, depicting two swords crossed over a unicorn's head.

"You bear no house insignia... Are you a newcomer?" the child inquired, a hint of bewilderment in his voice.

"And if I were to affirm that I am?" Leon replied, his demeanor neutral.

"Newcomers are required to present themselves to Elder Morin and Elder Trody," the elf girl stated, stepping closer to Leon.

"Might you escort me to them, young lady?" Leon requested.

"My name is Elissa, and I am not a 'young lady'—I am twenty years of age," Elissa corrected him with a pout, her expression tinged with annoyance.

"I am acquainted with someone bearing a name akin to yours, and twenty elven years roughly equate to four human years. Now, would you perhaps enlighten me as to why you refrain from employing magic?" Leon inquired, his gaze fixed upon her.

"It pertains to the decrees of our kingdom, Sephir. Magic is strictly forbidden; any individual discovered utilizing it faces immediate execution. While I do not fully grasp the meaning of 'execution,' I can assure you it is a dire fate," the human boy explained, directing his words toward Leon.

"It is indeed not a pleasant outcome... Tell me, if I were to employ magic at this very moment, what would transpire?" Leon asked, his brow furrowed in genuine curiosity.

"If there's no one to witness it... fine, but if the guards catch you, they'll surely throw you in prison," the beastkin child stated with a composed look.

"Doesn't sound pleasant... eh?" Leon inquired, a grin spreading across his face as he produced a wooden bead from his pocket.

<Blast Seal>

Swiftly applying several blast seals onto the wooden bead, he tossed it directly at the entrance of the Kingdom.

"I'm not sure, but my parents always told me it's a terrible place, reserved only for wicked individuals."

"Why are you hurling objects at the Kingdom?" Elissa questioned, her brow furrowed in bewilderment.

"Indeed, cover your ears... all of you, especially you," Leon instructed, gesturing towards the young beastkin.

Instantly, they all cupped their hands over their ears, their gazes fixed on the Kingdom's gate with perplexed expressions.

"Kaboom..."

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

A deafening explosion erupted before the Kingdom's gate, yet miraculously, no one sustained any injuries.

"Dusk, proceed with the plan," Leon commanded, a smile gracing his lips.

"Understood, Master," Dusk replied, vanishing into thin air without a moment's delay.
