Esdeath unexpectedly discovers she is pregnant and experiences morning sickness. She relies on Blayn for care throughout her pregnancy. Months later, she gives birth to twin girls, who surprisingly inherit her powerful Teigu. Blayn names the elder twin Shiranui, and Esdeath names the younger Shirayuki.

“Kurome, the lingering effects from those drugs are still evident in your body. Honestly, without specialized aid, healing on your own seems nearly impossible.”

Akame’s expression turned serious as she addressed Kurome. “I’ve heard whispers of a hidden spring within the Empire’s borders, one with the power to restore what’s been damaged. I propose we journey there together.”

“I agree to go, but only if Blayn accompanies us as well.”

Kurome shifted closer to Akame, their shoulders now touching. Their sisterly bond had visibly strengthened, leading to this newfound closeness.

“Blayn? I can approach him later.”

Akame saw no reason to deny Kurome’s request.

“I’ve observed that when Blayn pushes his abilities too far, his body weakens considerably, and he even experiences bleeding from his eyes. If this pattern continues, I fear severe repercussions for his health.”

Kurome voiced her deep-seated worry. Her concern had first surfaced when she and Blayn confronted the formidable 'Death Tagool' within Seiga Cave. Witnessing the immense strain it put on him left her deeply unsettled, especially since she lacked knowledge of his body's regenerative capabilities.

“I understand. Let’s seek him out and extend the invitation.”

Akame nodded, empathizing with Kurome’s apprehension.

“Thank you, sister.”

A faint smile touched Kurome’s lips.

Not long after, the sisters located Blayn within the opulent royal palace, engaged in a game of chess with the young Emperor.

Their arrival coincided with the end of their match.

“Another loss… That makes ten in a row…”

The young Emperor slumped over the chessboard, his disappointment palpable. He seemed on the verge of utter despair.

Facing Blayn, even a chess prodigy like the famed 'Great Han Chess Sage' Liu Qi would have been utterly outmatched.

“Don’t let it get you down. You’re showing significant improvement, Makoto.”

Blayn offered a reassuring pat on the young Emperor’s head.

He was unique in his casual address and familiarity with the Emperor, a level of ease even the formidable Esdeath, despite her rank, rarely showed in public, adhering to proper protocol by using “Your Majesty.”

“Grrr… One more round!”

The young Emperor’s competitive spirit was quickly reignited.

“Blayn, Your Majesty, please forgive our interruption.”

Akame stepped forward, her tone direct.

“Akame, Kurome, is there something you require of me?”

Although their game was interrupted, the young Emperor displayed no irritation. His naturally kind and guileless nature, coupled with Blayn’s crucial assistance in dealing with Minister Honest, made him welcoming.

“No, Your Majesty, we are actually looking for Blayn.”

Akame clarified their purpose.

“Ah, I see. Please, proceed with your conversation.”

The young Emperor nodded. “Blayn, do promise we’ll have another match soon!”

“Of course.”

Blayn agreed, then followed Akame and Kurome out of the Emperor’s chambers.

As they traversed the palace grounds, Akame relayed the reason for their quest.

“I intended to guide Kurome to the secret spring for her recovery, but she insists on you joining us.”

Akame’s tone remained characteristically neutral.

“...Me? What reason would I have to visit such a place?”

Blayn appeared perplexed, seeing no personal need for the spring.

“Blayn, the strain on your body from your eyes must be immense, isn’t it? I’m worried about potential harm, so I want you to come with us and undergo recovery.”

Kurome gazed intently at Blayn.

“I’m grateful for your concern, truly, but my body is functioning perfectly. I don’t require any form of restorative treatment.”

Blayn offered a gentle smile. While Kurome’s worry warmed him, he was confident in his physical condition.

“I don’t believe you! If you refuse to come, then neither will I!”

Kurome’s stance became unexpectedly firm.

“Kurome, this is hardly the time for such stubbornness…”

Akame attempted to reason with her, a sense of anxiety growing at her sister’s resolute refusal.

“…Very well. I will accompany you. Are you satisfied now?”

Blayn sighed, conceding defeat. He found arguing with Kurome futile when she adopted such an unyielding attitude.

“Excellent, let us depart then.”

Upon hearing Blayn’s agreement, Kurome instantly abandoned her obstinate posture, her expression reverting to its usual impassivity.

With their destination set, Blayn, Akame, and Kurome boarded a magnificent flying Special-Class Danger Beast, commencing their journey towards the legendary secret spring…
