Garrett receives seventeen new helpers from the Eagle God's Kingdom but none of them are Lynn. Priestess Tetra attempts to help Garrett produce more vaccines but inadvertently kills the cows. Meanwhile, Baronessimo interrogates a Golden Eagle warrior, gaining information about a hidden necromancer. Garrett realizes this necromancer is Lynn and demands Tetra hand Lynn over in exchange for the vaccine.

Tetra's full lips gradually pressed together. In the dimly lit cowshed, Garrett felt a chill all over his body. As he looked closely, he noticed a vertical line forming in the depths of her dark pupils.

"Lynn? I've never heard of such a person," the Snake Woman replied indifferently.

"Necromancer? I've never heard of that either. Maybe he didn't reach the Eagle God's Kingdom and is traveling somewhere else?"

As one of the Seven Snake Women, she naturally knew many secrets—like how one of her sisters secretly kept someone hidden, refusing to hand them over. But that was a Snake Woman's own affair!

Moreover, unless given special permission, most outsiders were meant to be sacrifices. If hidden by a Snake Woman, they could avoid becoming sacrifices. What a great deal!

"But the information I received states that Lynn is indeed in the Eagle God's Kingdom and has encountered danger," Garrett said, staring at her unblinkingly. Suddenly, he bent down and picked up a black cat with white gloves, gently stroking it:

"His magical pet, Mr. Troka, found me for help a few days ago. According to him, Lynn ran into trouble in your country and released him before getting captured."

"That's right!"

Mr. Troka stood upright in Garrett's arms.

Having rested and been fed well by Garrett, his spirits had recovered significantly since his "existence" was almost torn apart. Stretching out a claw, he scratched the air, five sharp nails popping out:

"Lynn was indeed captured here! I saw him get taken away! I fled desperately, barely escaping, but not without getting bitten! Hand him over!"

"I truly haven't heard of such a person," Tetra said, her eyes fixed on the talking cat, slightly surprised but quickly regaining her composure. She raised her gaze to glance lightly at Garrett:

"But according to the laws of the Eagle God's Kingdom, outsiders who break the law are either executed or sacrificed. The companion you seek may already be gone."

Mr. Troka arched his back, his fur standing on end. Garrett pressed him down with one hand, covering his mouth, and nodded calmly:

"I see. Thank you for your trouble. But I believe Lynn is still alive. Since he's in danger, I must find him... Farewell."

Saying this, he turned and walked away, holding the black cat's head. As he walked, he shouted:

"Baronsimo, we're leaving! Get Bernard and Cirilla, don't worry about the newcomers, we're going to find Lynn! Let's go now!"

"Wait! Wait!" The priestess hurriedly followed. Garrett had already tossed out a small bird. The bird, black and shiny, was the size of a palm when taken out, but it grew as it caught the wind:

Hand-sized, arm-sized, half a person tall, as tall as a person...

In no time, its back was taller than a human. Garrett leaped and jumped into its belly. The priestess tried to grab him but was pushed back by a gust of foul wind from the bird's flapping wings, stumbling backward.

"Stop him!"

Tetra screamed. Before the words were out, Baronsimo lunged forward, grabbing the Ancient Vine Bird's wing just as it was about to fall, and darted into the bird's belly.

The Ancient Vine Bird flapped its wings and soared into the sky. On the other side, Cirilla grabbed Bernard and flew high...

Two Golden Eagle Warriors took off in pursuit. One was outmaneuvered by the bird's sudden turn, flying past; the other swung a spear but had it snatched by the bird, its sharp beak forcing him to dodge and abandon the spear.

Cirilla, holding Bernard, rushed into the bird's belly. Another Golden Eagle Warrior returned to intercept, but his spear's golden light was deflected by the bird, nearly hitting his own ally.

The Ancient Vine Bird soared into the sky, getting farther away. Seeing this, Tetra quickly took off to intercept:

"I'll check! Maybe he's imprisoned somewhere else, and I don't know!" she shouted, spreading her hands to create a black cloud blocking the bird's path:

"I'll seek the oracle again! If the person you seek is truly here, we'll release him. Isn't that easier than you searching across mountains and rivers?"

The Ancient Vine Bird circled above the settlement, slowly descending, its gem-like eyes staring at her. Knowing she couldn't delay, Tetra gritted her teeth, pulled a hair from her head, placed it on her palm, and prayed softly.

Muttering a few words, she trembled, spraying blood onto the hair. The hair floated, absorbing every drop of blood, turning black and shiny, slightly swelling. Then, it burned without fire, disappearing in an instant.

Tetra gasped weakly, falling to the ground. In the Eagle God's Kingdom's capital, inside the Serpent God's temple, a large snake opened its eyes, hissing.

"Tetra's message has returned." Soon, a mid-level priestess guarding the temple brought the news to the Snake Women's council:

"The other party demands the release of Necromancer Lynn, threatening to break off cooperation and leave immediately. Tetra believes that since we agreed to give him the outsiders, holding this one back would make us seem untrustworthy..."

In an instant, the five Snake Women in the temple focused their eyes on Nierka. Some looks were accusatory, some mocking, and some simply curious. Only Chivacoatl, sitting in the center, remained calm, watching her disciple:

What do you intend to do?

Whatever your plan, explain your reasoning!

Nierka's breath quickened slightly. Then, she stubbornly raised her head, facing her teacher:

"Since they threaten us, we can't release him! If we let him go and the Son of Thunder takes him away, what will we do? Send out twelve Golden Eagles to capture him and force him to help us against the Plague Maiden?"

"What if they leave now?" another Snake Woman asked coldly. Nierka raised her chin:

"He came all this way and put in so much effort, would he just leave?—I say, to make the Son of Thunder work obediently, we must keep the Necromancer in hand. If he succeeds, he lives; if he fails, he dies!"

Under the dim light, the five Snake Women argued fiercely. After a while, Chivacoatl gently coughed, silencing the debate:

"In this matter, both sides must compromise. Nierka, do this..."

Half a day later, another strand of Tetra's hair burned in the Red Hawk Tribe. She pulled out a hair, and in the cold green flame, a poisonous tongue rose, hissing:

"Honored Son of Thunder, Lynn the Necromancer is indeed in the Eagle God's Kingdom. However, his current situation is not good, and he is temporarily unfit to move. Once you complete your task, you should be able to see him..."

"I want proof!"

Garrett stared at Tetra. At least she admitted Lynn was still here, which was a good sign. He could push further:

"I want proof of Lynn's safety! I want a handwritten letter from him! I want him treated as a guest! Moreover, I want the Eagle God's Kingdom to promise in the name of the Eagle God and Serpent God that once I complete my task, Lynn will be delivered here unharmed!"
