Garrett attempts to enter the Emerald Dream with Anari Linga's guidance, but struggles to connect with nature's original form. After two failed attempts, Anari Linga prepares a special bath and potion to aid his meditation. While meditating, Garrett falls asleep and begins to absorb the magical energies meant to help him.

"Garrett!"

Anari Linga was both amused and slightly annoyed.

These tree saps, potions, powders, fruits, flowers, and minerals were all things she had painstakingly gathered over decades. Some items that weren't produced in the Bountiful Forest or Rain Song Forest had to be exchanged with other elves.

Originally, she intended to use them to enlighten a native and accept them as her student. But now, using them on Garrett wasn't too bad either. After all, he was half-elf, with great talent, and was wholeheartedly dedicated to helping others.

As long as... as long as he could learn, it wouldn’t be a waste to give it all to him...

"Snore... snore..."

The current problem was that not only had Garrett failed to enter the Emerald Dream, but he had also curled up in the bath and started snoring softly. His snores were so gentle and rhythmic that it was hard for anyone to bear waking him.

Moreover, with each of his light snores, the magical fluctuations in the bath and the magic array around it, along with the magical incense, were gradually being absorbed by him. You could see that all of it was being sucked in!

Is your body a sponge?

Such powerful magic energy, and you can just absorb it like that!

Or perhaps, your growth in the human world was severely stunted, missing many elements. Now that you've reached the Bountiful Forest, with access to proper elven training and resources, you're desperately absorbing magic power...

Thinking this, Anari Linga began to calm down, and a touch of affection arose in her heart. She adjusted her breathing, extended her mental energy, and began to sense Garrett's state:

Entering the Emerald Dream... it seemed unlikely. If he had truly entered this dream, his body would be extremely calm, while his mental activity would be very intense.

Moreover, the mental state within the Emerald Dream was quite distinctive—both tranquil and intense, both vast and intricate.

It was as if an unarmed person, with neither a warrior’s strength nor magical power, stood at the top of a tall tree, overlooking an endless plain below. An eagle swooped by, beasts ran wild, and lions and tigers roared...

That sensation of merging with nature, combined with the bone-deep shivers, would leave a profound impression on anyone entering the Emerald Dream for the first time.

A guide who sensed this reaction would know that the person had successfully entered the dream.

But Garrett clearly had not entered the Emerald Dream... Anari Linga shook her head and could only sit aside, waiting. There was nothing else she could do. The Emerald Dream was a deeply personal experience, with each person having their own unique dreamscape.

She was only at level 16 and could only guide from the outside. Dragging Garrett into her own Emerald Dream would require a legendary being—her teacher, perhaps...

“How’s it going?”

Suddenly, a leisurely voice came from beside her. Anari Linga snapped out of her thoughts to see her teacher, who had quietly come up next to her, smiling as he looked in Garrett’s direction. Anari Linga sighed:

"This little one... no matter how I teach, he just can’t get it..."

After a round of complaints, Elder Fahim shook his head with a smile. As he laughed, he sighed:

"This little guy sure is stubborn. You’ve never guided a mature druid before, so you didn’t know where to intervene. No wonder he’s gone off track. —No worries, I’ll guide him again later."

Garrett slept comfortably until nightfall. He didn’t wake up until all the magic power in the bath's potion was absorbed, the effects of the medicinal wine had worn off, and he began to feel a bit cold in the water. He opened his eyes and climbed out.

Standing on the ground, he felt like he had both gained and lost two pounds and had a strong urge to burp:

"Ahhh~~~"

"Awake now?"

A smiling, red-faced elder leaned over. Garrett, still a bit groggy from his comfortable sleep, looked down, then up, slowly raising his gaze:

"Elder?"

"The plan you proposed has some feasibility, but it needs to be tested in reality. Also, those bacteria and cells need to be observed in reality; it’s hard to draw accurate conclusions in the Emerald Dream."

Garrett’s eyes lit up. Great! As long as it works! Being able to simulate and research inside the dream is fantastic!

"Elder, about that..."

"The Emerald Dream? I know, I’ll teach you." Elder Fahim stroked his beard, smiling as he looked Garrett up and down, much like he was appraising a rare, high-grade beast cub:

"But what about you? After such a long sleep and absorbing so much magic power, have you made any physical improvements? Come, let me check..."

How should he check?

Should he use  to measure magic strength?

Or should he take a drop of blood?

Or perhaps, give him a target and have him cast spells until he’s exhausted?

Garrett looked at him expectantly. Elder Fahim paced halfway around him, then turned back and paced around the other half:

"Logically, absorbing the guidance power of the Emerald Dream should enhance your affinity with nature. —Come, try casting , and see if the transformation is smoother than before?"

Following his instructions, Garrett activated the spell. His body dropped down on all fours, transforming into a black bear that ran two circles around the elder. Elder Fahim stroked his beard, nodding first, then shaking his head:

"Speed hasn’t increased, and the body hasn’t grown. Now, try casting spells in your transformed state?"

Garrett swiped, swiped, and swiped again. His claws sliced through the air, hitting the ground heavily each time, but he couldn't even trigger the slightest magical reaction. Elder Fahim sighed:

"Now, try transforming into a leopard? —No, don’t return to human form before changing into a leopard. The shift from bear form to leopard form should be very smooth!"

However, this guidance didn’t seem to help much... Garrett stood in place, struggling several times. The muscles on his bear back rippled and trembled, but not a single splash appeared.

In the end, he reverted to human form before transforming into a leopard, running clumsily and unevenly.

... This natural affinity hadn’t increased at all. The elder twisted his beard around his finger, curling it up, then letting it fall, over and over, racking his brain.

He looked up to see Garrett reverting to his original form, sneaking a glance at Cirilla before quickly looking away; Cirilla also sneaked a look at him, and when Garrett looked back, she swiftly turned her face away...

“What’s up with you two?”

"......"

"......"

The little silver dragon and the little cub looked east and west, neither willing to speak. Bernard, who was coming out of the lab holding clothes for Garrett to change into, glanced left and right, then suddenly spoke up:

"Boss can turn into a dragon too!"

"Really?"

Elder Fahim and Anari Linga’s eyes brightened simultaneously. Garrett was silent for a moment, then lightly shook his head:

"My power is insufficient; I turned out too small... almost caused a mishap..."

As he spoke, he glanced towards the lab, his longing gaze involuntarily revealing itself. A dragon’s eyes could see X-rays, could see special rays...

If only I could safely take a look... just one look...

Of course, it had to be safe first. Safety was the top priority—no accidents, no deformities that couldn’t be reversed; and second, I shouldn’t immediately be grabbed by Cirilla and squeezed...

"Don’t worry, I’ll watch over you!"

Elder Fahim boldly assured him:

"Come, give it a try, let me see how smoothly you can transform into a dragon! With me here, what are you afraid of?"
