Garrett reveals his advanced medical diagnostic techniques to the unicorns, impressing them with his CT and ultrasound scans. Elder Fahim confirms Garrett's findings through his own mental examination, identifying multiple problematic areas in Fira's body. While surgery is deemed too risky, Garrett proposes a potential treatment based on unusual cells he discovered while dissecting a unicorn corpse, pending further examination.

Cell?

Cell slice?

What is this?

The bewilderment of the unicorns was evident from their long faces, covered with white fur. Garrett bit the inside of his lip to suppress a smile and tossed out two papers:

One paper on what cells are and their classifications. It explained what blood cells, muscle cells, vascular cells, skin cells, and bone cells looked like, and how to observe cells, slice them, stain them, and examine them under a microscope.

He wasn't willing to part with the originals, but he had prepared some copies using the Copy Spell. He gave one to Anari Linga, and then pulled out another and handed it to the unicorns.

Whether or not the unicorns could understand it, or even if their hooves or horns could turn the pages, Garrett didn't care.

The four unicorns huddled together, using their magic to grow blades of grass, turning the pages one by one. They would read a page, then flip to the next, continuing this process...

The papers, although in large 16K format, could only accommodate two unicorn heads at a time. After reading a page, they would shuffle to the left to let another unicorn take a look. The four unicorns moved in a circle, resembling a carousel.

Despite this, they were careful with their steps, avoiding stepping on the papers. Not only did they avoid stepping on them, but they also refrained from scraping their hooves, fearing that dust might soil the papers. They even held their breath, to avoid wetting the pages with their breath.

After finishing a page, they would tilt their heads to the sky and exhale deeply...

Seeing how cautious and meticulous they were, Garrett's previous irritation melted away.

He crouched in front of them, noticing how the unicorns were all softly humming, their long hairs nearly tangling. He tentatively asked:

"Would you like an explanation?"

"Yes!"

"Of course!"

"Please explain!"

The unicorns eagerly nodded, their four horns bobbing up and down like joysticks. Garrett chuckled and clapped his hands:

"I'll explain it to you then..."

He released a **, projecting a three-dimensional image, which was even more powerful than a PowerPoint. He used a picture to explain a segment, then another, and after finishing, moved on to the microscope:

"Don't come in! I'll activate the **, and you can observe from outside!" Garrett cautioned them, his tone serious. After instructing them, he entered the mage's cabin and securely shut the walls:

Slicing wood samples!

Using the microscope!

Slicing meat!

Using the microscope!

Drawing blood!

Using the microscope!

He then took out the diseased tissue samples from Nana the unicorn and put them under the microscope!

He retrieved freshly cut diseased tissue from Fira, froze it on the spot, sliced it, stained it, and placed it under the microscope...

"Can you see it? Can you see it!" Garrett's joyful voice echoed from the mage's cabin:

"These are cells, the cells in various locations, blood cells, strange mutated cells... And now we've proven that Fira has these mutated cells as well, and the more diseased the area, the more of these mutated cells there are!"

"So, your plan is to use mental energy to lock onto these mutated cells and eradicate them?" Elder Fahim's voice penetrated the walls of the cabin:

"Is that why you dissected these diseased tissues?"

"Exactly!"

Garrett exited the mage's cabin with high spirits:

"How else would I know where the disease is without dissection? How else would I know what the cells inside have turned into? Nana's condition is even more severe; she has a large tumor in her brain..."

He gestured and brought up ultrasound images, CT scans, and dissection diagrams to show everyone. The unicorns were silent for a moment, and finally, it was Elder Etto who stepped forward, lowering his head slightly:

"Honorable healer, we now understand that your dissection of Nana's body was not out of malice. However, if you have finished your work, may we retrieve our sister's remains so she can return to the embrace of the forest?"

Garrett let out a sigh of relief. With that statement, the dissection issue was settled. He nodded solemnly and bowed to the unicorn:

"Please wait."

He turned and returned to the mage's cabin, retrieving Nana's body and gently laying it down. He had no intention of keeping the unicorn's remains; apart from taking samples, he had carefully preserved every part.

Since he was now going to return the body, he tidied it up once more. He replaced the cut skin on the head and reattached the skull. The organs that could be put back into the opened abdominal cavity were carefully replaced.

He organized and repaired everything. For what the spells couldn’t fix, he used fine needles and threads.

Finally, the floating disc brought out what appeared to be a lifeless but nearly intact unicorn's body.

The unicorns let out low whimpers. They formed a circle, raised their horns, and used their noses to nudge their companion's body. Their deep blue and light brown eyes welled up with large tears.

After mourning for a while, Etto approached Garrett, lowered his head, and before speaking, sniffed loudly, his voice wet with emotion:

"The evil aura on her body... it's gone. Young healer, thank you."

No kidding. I removed all the tumors and kept them as specimens. Garrett bowed his head in return and listened as Etto continued:

"Please continue to think of a way to cure Fira's illness. Unicorns do not neglect their friends."

Bending his knees, Etto shook his body, and a spiral horn quietly emerged from his fur, dropping to the ground in front of Garrett.

Garrett was at a loss, turning to Elder Fahim for help. Hey, it's fine if you give me payment, and I'm entitled to accept it, but this horn... this horn...

This is a unicorn's horn! A horn from one of your kin!

Are you giving me this as payment?!

It feels strange, like I'm holding your friend hostage, snapping off a horn, and using it to pay for medicine...

"This is a horn from a deceased unicorn." Seeing Garrett's pleading look, Elder Fahim slowly walked over, picked up the spiral horn from the ground, and gently stroked it from tip to base:

"Most of a unicorn's purifying power, its lightning power, is concentrated in this horn. In the past, when a unicorn died, its horn would be buried with it, but in recent years, with the pollution zones growing larger and more difficult to purify... Sigh..."

He let out a long sigh and handed the horn to Garrett:

"Take it. Whether you use it to craft magical equipment, analyze its power, or let your Silver Moon Deer slowly absorb it, it will be beneficial."

A single horn is nothing compared to a living unicorn. Garrett grasped the horn tightly and nodded deeply:

"I'm not yet confident in curing Fira, so I'll need to think of more ways and conduct some experiments. Elder, if you encounter any more beasts or magical creatures with similar symptoms, please capture them for me."
