Li Feng surveys the desolate ruins of the Fen Dynasty, finding Zi Yuanling alive but unconscious and Fen Ziyan sealed within a cocoon. He uses the Divine Brick to store them both. Alone, Li Feng realizes the System may be derived from his daughter's corpse. A rift opens, and the Venerable Realmwalker emerges, revealing she is Mo Shuyan's master.

Seeing this, the veiled woman let out a quiet, dry chuckle.

"Oh, how rude of me. It seems I’ve grown too old to even remember basic etiquette."

She inclined her head slightly, the black veil shifting with the motion.

"You may call me Venerable Realmwalker."

Then she paused.

A smile seemed to form beneath the veil as her next words came out softer, yet far sharper.

"...Or perhaps the title ’Master of Mo Shuyan, The Mad Alchemist’ rings a bell... Young Master Li Feng?"

"..."

Li Feng’s expression did not change as he rose from the rock.

Venerable Realmwalker’s dry smile lingered beneath the black veil.

"No reaction?" she said softly, almost amused.

"How cold. Or maybe that is simply the nature of the master inside that body."

Her skinny fingers tapped together once more as she continued studying him.

"I really am curious, though... which old remnant immortal are you? This level of composure, this method of severing a World Cancer fragment so cleanly..."

Her veiled head tilted slightly.

"...None of it seems to belong to the Divine Court."

Venerable Realmwalker’s soft voice drifted through the ashen air as she took another slow step forward, the black liquid from the Yin Realm still spreading faintly across the ruined ground behind her.

"I have seen many remnants of the old era, and I have traveled across many realms... but your methods, and the perfect execution of everything so far, were so refined that even this old heart of mine couldn’t help but skipped a beat."

Her wrinkled hand slowly rose and pointed toward him.

A quiet murmur followed from beneath the black veil, carrying a clear note of greedy interest.

"...Your existence is so perfect... that I want to keep you forever in my collection."

The moment those words left her lips, the ground around Li Feng responded.

Black walls began to rise from the ashen earth in every direction, sealing off the surrounding space with heavy, oppressive force.

The surfaces of those walls twisted unnaturally as grotesque faces pushed out from within the darkness... distorted mouths, hollow eyes, and warped expressions emerging one after another across the black barriers.

Then the faces opened their mouths in unison.

A low, layered chanting began to fill the ruined area... ancient and unsettling, as the black walls continued to close in around Li Feng like a cage.

"..."

Li Feng’s empty eyes calmly swept across the rising barriers and the grotesque faces chanting upon them, yet his expression still did not change.

Venerable Realmwalker’s soft voice drifted in once more from beyond the black walls.

"You must be exhausted by now, aren’t you?" she said lightly.

"After fighting that incomplete calamity, tearing through a contaminated dynasty fortune, and even forcing your way into a soul space... even a remnant immortal’s borrowed vessel should be reaching its limit."

Her wrinkled hand rose and tapped once against the side of her veiled head.

"I don’t want to praise myself, but I have rather good instincts when it comes to these things."

A dry smile formed beneath the black veil.

"But I don’t want to underestimate anyone," she continued softly. "As they say... a desperate immortal is far more dangerous than any ordinary one."

The moment those words left her lips, the black liquid spilling from the Yin Realm rift surged upward under her control.

Thick tides of Deep Tide black water rose into the sky, spreading outward like a living curtain and sealing the heavens above the ruined capital.

The ashen light was swallowed, leaving the battlefield locked beneath a heavy, suffocating darkness.

At the same time, Venerable Realmwalker calmly retreated backward, putting a safer distance between herself and the black-walled cage surrounding Li Feng.

Even as she withdrew, her soft voice continued to drift across the sealed battlefield.

"There is no need to struggle any further. You should surrender."

The grotesque faces on the black walls kept up their low, layered chanting as she spoke.

"And hand over those two women you hid away inside that Divine Weapon."

Her tone remained mild, almost polite, yet the greed beneath it was unmistakable.

"Do that... and I may still consider leaving this vessel of yours intact."

"He should be someone important to you, isn’t he? Maybe even a personal disciple?"

Li Feng’s empty eyes remained calm as her words settled over the sealed battlefield.

Inwardly, however, the conclusion formed at once.

’Zi Yuanling is her true goal.’

Absorbing a remnant of the Deep Tide Segment had clearly not been enough for this old monster.

She was even greedier than that.

What she truly wanted right now... was the Divine Blood Segment as well.

Which was exactly why this woman was one of the more troublesome opponents to deal with.

It was not only her ability that made her dangerous, nor was she the strongest existence he had ever faced.

What made her problematic was her cautious nature.

A hidden rat.

In Li Feng’s memory, she was exactly that kind of existence.

She never faced him head-on when the odds were unclear.

Instead, she lingered in the dark, waiting for the moment his attention shifted, then bit from behind with cold precision.

In the timeline he had originally walked, it had taken him considerable effort to finally kill this woman... and many lives had been lost in the process before her head was truly taken.

Li Feng lowered his gaze to his own hand.

The residual authority of [Ego] still lingered faintly around his fingers... one last use remaining.

’Should I kill her... or save everyone?’

Once again, the same choice stood before him.

If it were the him of the past... the colder, sharper version who had already been carved by endless loss he would have chosen without the slightest hesitation.

He would have killed her.

A dangerous existence like Venerable Realmwalker was never worth leaving alive.

Every moment she continued breathing was another seed of future disaster, another chance for more people to die.

And yet...

His empty eyes remained fixed on his hand as a quieter, heavier thought surfaced.

Killing her here was simple.

And it should be a good thing... clean and efficient.

It was the path he had walked before.

But that path had also left behind a trail of irreversible losses... faces he could no longer protect, names that only remained as weight in his chest.

Standing once more at this familiar crossroads, even with the knowledge of what she would become, a faint hesitation he would once have despised now lingered in the silence of his heart.

Then, as if remembering something, Li Feng silently turned his awareness inward toward the Divine Brick.

What appeared before him made his empty eyes still for a brief moment.

Inside the Divine Brick’s world, a whole lively scene unfolded.

Faces that should have already been dead were still alive.

The Divine Tree, which in the near future he would personally burn to ash, still stood, its branches lively and whole.

Lan Suyao, who should have perished from her soul injury, remained among the living.

Even those demonic disciples who were fated to fall were still breathing within that sealed space.

And finally...

His gaze landed on one woman.

Yue Lan.

"Hmm?"

As if sensing something beyond the boundary of the Divine Brick’s world, Yue Lan slowly looked up.

Their eyes did not truly meet, yet in that moment Li Feng’s gaze trembled ever so slightly.

"...I see."

The quiet murmur left his lips as the last of his hesitation settled into resolve.

This was not his time.

Therefore, he would follow this fellow’s trail... the path of the younger self who still stood at the beginning of everything.

Now...

For once...

He decided to save, rather than kill.

But then another thought surfaced.

Who would take care of these dangerous people afterward?

For a brief moment, the familiar weight of responsibility threatened to settle back onto his shoulders.

Then, unexpectedly, Li Feng’s lips curved into a soft, genuine smile.

"...Well."

His voice carried a rare, almost carefree ease.

"It’s not my problem anymore."

If the current him couldn’t even defeat these people with a System, then he deserved it.

With those thoughts and words, something in his gaze seemed to grow a little brighter.

For the first time in a very long while, a faint sense of thrill stirred within him... not from slaughter, not from calculated victory, but from the simple fact that he had chosen a different path from the one he once walked.

He brought his hands together.

"...[Ego]!"

As if responding to his will, the Divine Authority that had accompanied him across time and space trembled in clear excitement.

It was subtle, yet unmistakable... like an existence that had long walked beside a man of endless calculation and cold resolve had suddenly sensed a genuine shift in its master’s path.

Li Feng’s soft smile lingered as he slowly looked up toward the sealed black sky.

’Since it hasn’t even been a week yet... it should be possible.’

With that, he decided to choose...

"[Temporal]!"
