The future Li Feng appears to the original Li Feng and provides several dire warnings and instructions, including advice about Fen Ziyan, the Third World Cancer Segment, the Age of the Stars, Peng Jianwei, and Lin Yu. After giving his advice, the future Li Feng confronts and separates Zi Yuanling and Fen Ziyan from a grotesque mass of flesh using a powerful technique called Golden Severance, before vanishing. Li Feng then awakens in the devastated ruins of the capital, now covered in silent ash.

"..."

Li Feng stood amid that quiet devastation and looked around.

For a moment, it truly felt as if he were the only person left alive in the world.

And in a sense, that was not far from the truth.

As the population of the Fen Dynasty had already been consumed, leaving behind only silence, ash, and the lingering weight of a land whose fortune had been gutted.

His gaze then lowered to what lay before him.

Zi Yuanling was there.

Her face was pale, her long crimson hair spread loosely across the ashen ground.

She had lost consciousness, her breathing weak and shallow... but she was still alive.

The overwhelming presence of the False Crown and the corrupted entanglement that had bound her were gone, leaving only the fragile body of the woman who had once chosen such a heavy path.

Originally, he would have killed her... but he wasn’t sure if it was the right choice now.

With a sigh, he murmured,

"Well... I’ll leave this decision to the current fellow to decide..."

Then he turned to look beside her.

And beside her floated a transparent crimson cocoon.

Within that soft, glowing shell, a familiar figure could be seen resting in stillness...

...Fen Ziyan.

Li Feng stared at her in silence.

A complicated look slowly surfaced in those empty eyes.

It had been so long... far too long since he had last seen that face.

For a brief moment, the weight of years he carried seemed to press more heavily against him as he simply stood there amid the drifting ash and quiet snow, looking at the girl sealed within the transparent crimson cocoon.

Just as he was lost in that gaze—

A stir came from within the body he currently occupied.

In the next instant, the Divine Brick popped into existence beside him.

"~??"

The ancient artifact floated in the air and first scanned the sorrowful, ash-covered land with clear confusion.

Then its attention shifted to the figure standing before it... its master, and yet somehow not entirely the same.

The presence, the eyes, the depth of existence... everything felt heavier and more distant than the Li Feng it knew.

Li Feng looked at it and murmured softly,

"...It’s you?"

Then a quiet sigh followed.

"Good. I was thinking how to hide these two..."

His gaze moved briefly between the unconscious Zi Yuanling and the cocoon containing Fen Ziyan.

"Take them inside you."

The Divine Brick hesitated for a fraction of a second.

It still was not entirely sure whether the one giving the order was truly its master.

Even so, it obeyed.

It also recognized Fen Ziyan without difficulty, and that alone was enough to settle its decision.

Then a soft spatial fluctuation spread out.

In the next moment, both Zi Yuanling and the transparent crimson cocoon were drawn into the Divine Brick’s inner world.

Once the process was complete, the artifact flickered once more and disappeared back into Li Feng’s soul, leaving him alone once again amid the quiet, ash-drifting ruins.

"..."

Now he was truly alone.

Li Feng walked a few steps through the drifting ash and sat down on a nearby rock.

For a long moment he simply remained there, then slowly raised one hand and covered his face.

A deep weariness settled over him... not the fatigue of battle, nor even the strain of having been pulled into the past.

It came from something far heavier.

It was the System.

After a while, he parted his lips and tried to call out in a low voice.

"...System?"

But there was no response.

Only the quiet fall of ash and snow-like particles continued around him in the ruined silence of the Fen Dynasty.

Li Feng let out a soft, bitter laugh from behind his hand.

Because based on everything he had seen so far... and everything he now knew...

There was a high chance that this so-called "System" had been made from...

...the corpse of his daughter.

"...Nangong..."

The name left his lips in a quiet murmur.

After a moment, he lowered the hand covering his face and looked down at his own palm.

Residual traces of authority still lingered faintly around his fingers.

"...One more usage of [Ego], huh."

His voice was soft,

"It should be enough for... her."

For the woman who always loved to hide in the shadows and reap the benefits silently.

The moment those words ended—

A sharp sound of something breaking rang out high above the ashen sky.

In the next instant, a dark rift tore open overhead, its edges unstable and writhing.

What could be seen beyond the crack was a familiar, colorless expanse... similar to the realm Shadow had once entered.

The Yin Realm.

Suddenly,

From within that rift, thick black liquid began to spill downward, dripping and then pouring into the ruined surroundings like the blood of a wounded world.

Li Feng looked at the spreading black liquid and murmured quietly,

"...So that woman already absorbed the Deep Tide Segment, but..."

...But it seemed to be way weaker than he remembered.

His empty eyes then lifted toward the crack in the sky.

Then from within the dark rift, a figure slowly walked out.

She was an old, emaciated woman as her frame so thin it looked almost skeletal beneath the loose black garments that hung from her body.

A black veil covered her face, concealing her features entirely, while her withered hands rose and began to clap together in a slow, dry rhythm.

Each contact of those skinny palms produced a faint, unsettling sound that echoed strangely across the ashen silence of the ruined Fen Dynasty.

The old woman stopped at the edge of the black liquid spilling from the rift and spoke in a soft, almost appreciative voice.

"That was truly a magnificent and brilliant battle."

"..."

Li Feng remained silent, empty eyes fixed on her without the slightest change in expression.

Seeing this, the veiled woman let out a quiet, dry chuckle.

"Oh, how rude of me. It seems I’ve grown too old to not even remember basic etiquette."

She inclined her head slightly, the black veil shifting with the motion.

"You may call me Venerable Realmwalker."

Then she paused.

A smile seemed to form beneath the veil as her next words came out softer, yet far sharper.

"...Or perhaps the title ’Master of Mo Shuyan, The Mad Alchemist’ rings a bell... Young Master Li Feng?"
