the way his brother is acting makes me so mad

honestly thought the whole illegitimate son thing was gonna be a total drag but the way Lynn just takes it on the chin is pretty cool, honestly. Like, your own dad hands you a literal trash heap of a wasteland for your birthday and you're just supposed to say thanks? The part where his older brother sends those three specific assassins into the woods to finish him off felt a bit weirdly timed, almost like they just popped out of nowhere for the sake of a fight scene, but I guess that is just how these system stories go sometimes. I really dig the territory building stuff though, especially how he has to figure out how to get water to that dry patch of dirt before everyone dies of thirst. My only real gripe is that the system rewards feel a bit too easy, like he gets a massive upgrade for just doing basic chores which makes the stakes feel lower than they should be. Still, the empire setting is neat and I want to see him shove that success in his marquis father's face, he definitely deserves to lose everything after being such a jerk to his own kid.
