the turtle style longevity stuff actually makes a lot of sense

still can't get over how Su Changkong basically decided to live forever just because he was mediocre at fighting, it's such a mood honestly. most of these main characters are out here trying to destroy the heavens or whatever but he just wants to polish that Five Animals Health Fist until he's basically a god. the part where he spends like three years just breathing and doing the crane movements in that little courtyard really stuck with me, it felt way more grounded than the usual power-up stuff where they just eat a glowing pill and suddenly they're a master. i do think the author gets a bit carried away with the stat screens sometimes, like i can do the math myself i don't need a full page update every time he gains a week of life, it starts to feel a bit like a spreadsheet after a while. also pretty sure he was in his twenties when he started this whole thing but the way he talks you'd think he was an eighty year old man already. it's a slow burn for sure and the demons are kind of generic so far, but seeing him slowly outlive his rivals just by being healthier than them is a hilarious way to win a fight.
