the system is hilarious but the mc is kind of a jerk
honestly thought it was going to be another generic cultivation grind but then he gets rejected by that one sect for having a trash spirit root or whatever and just decides to pivot completely. the core mechanic where he gets stronger every time he has a kid is actually such a weirdly funny concept, especially during that part where he marries into the Lu family and starts stressing about the spirit stones for the wedding gifts. i think he had like three or four wives by chapter fifty and it gets a bit hard to keep track of who is who, i actually forgot if the second wife was the one with the alchemy talent or if that was the third one. the pacing is a bit all over the place though, one minute he is just living a quiet life and then suddenly some high-level elder is trying to kill him for no reason, it feels like the author just wanted to force a fight scene in there. i do wish he spent more time actually talking to his kids instead of just treating them like stat boosts for his own power, it makes him come off as a bit cold-hearted for a family man. still a fun read if you want something lighthearted and trashy to kill an afternoon with.
