the part about the pheromones made me so uncomfortable honestly

honestly thought the whole 'lunar curse' thing was just going to be another trope about her not being able to shift, but that specific detail where her pheromones go haywire and make everyone either want to hunt her or jump her bones was actually pretty dark. i felt so bad for meredith because she literally can't even stand in a grocery store line without some random wolf guy losing his mind, it makes the romance with draven feel super earned even if he started out as a total jerk. the pacing gets a bit weird around the middle though, especially the part where she's hiding in that abandoned basement for like three chapters straight, it felt like the author just forgot to move her to the next location until they realized they needed a fight scene. i’m pretty sure she lost her wolf during a blood moon ritual or something like that, which is just such a massive bummer for someone who used to be a star athlete in the pack. i liked the chemistry eventually but man, some of the side characters are just plain evil for no reason and it gets exhausting to read after a while. if you can get past the constant 'everyone hates me' energy of the first fifty pages then it's a solid read, i just wish she stood up for herself a little sooner instead of just crying in the woods so much.
