the mechanic class start is okay but the mechs are way too big

honestly expected more of a slow burn with the engineering stuff, but then he just wakes up and there are these trillion-ton war machines lying around that are supposedly thousands of kilometers long. i mean how do you even begin to fix something that big with just basic tools, it's basically like trying to repair a skyscraper with a toothpick and some duct tape, but the story just kind of glosses over the physics of it all. the whole 40,000th year of the empire setting gives off massive warhammer vibes which i dig, especially the part where he has to scavenge through that one ruined capital ship for parts while those insect-looking aliens are crawling everywhere. i think i remember him finding a purple-tier power core in the third chapter, or maybe it was blue, either way he got overpowered way too fast for my liking. it's fun to see the job transfer system kick in because the mechanic stuff was getting a bit stale after he fixed the first giant robot leg, but i wish the author spent more time on the actual grease and grime of the job instead of just jumping to the next big explosion. worth a skim if you like sci-fi power fantasies but don't expect it to make any sense if you're an actual engineer.
