The cultivation speed is cool but the chasm is weird
honestly don't know why everyone in these stories is so obsessed with the rankings because I would just be hiding in my basement, but the whole bit where those miners in Nation A accidentally dig up the infinite chasm really got to me. It felt super claustrophobic thinking about those monsters just pouring out of a hole in the ground while everyone is just trying to do their shifts, it actually reminded me of that one horror movie with the cave explorers but on a global scale. I do think the 100 times cultivation speed makes things move way too fast though, like the main character gets strong so quickly that the sense of danger from the Abyssal monsters kind of disappears by the second volume and it becomes more about stats than actual survival. Also I'm pretty sure they said there were twelve golden boards in the sky at one point but then it went back to ten, maybe I just can't count or the author forgot. It's a fun read if you just want to see someone get ridiculously overpowered without having to wait three hundred chapters for it, I just wish the monsters felt a bit more threatening after the initial chaos ended.
