the 1980s setting is cool but the husband is too much

honestly can't get over how Cheng Su died, imagine minding your own business and some random jumper just drags you off a roof with them because that is honestly my biggest fear now. it's such a weirdly specific way to go out and i kept thinking about it even after she woke up in the 1980s, which is a vibe i actually really dig for a reincarnation story. i love the retro aesthetic and the whole vibe of the era but the 'military spouse' guy is way too intense for me, he's constantly hovering and it's supposed to be sweet or protective i guess but it mostly just feels like she has zero personal space to breathe. i think his name was Lu or something, he's basically perfect on paper but he gets so possessive so fast that it made me roll my eyes a bit, i wish she spent more time exploring her new life on her own before he took over everything. it's a fun read if you like that over-the-top doting stuff, i just found the transition from being murdered to having a husband who stares at you 24/7 a little jarring.
