Izan is basically me if I actually had a system

honestly hit way too close to home when he got kicked out of the Valencia academy for being 'untalented' because that feeling of being told you aren't good enough at the one thing you love is brutal. I loved the Spanish-Japanese background thing he has going on since it makes his perspective feel a bit more unique than your average soccer story, but I kept getting confused about his sister's name and I'm pretty sure the author swapped it once or twice in the early chapters. The system stuff is cool and all but sometimes it feels like he's leveling up way too fast during that one neighborhood field practice session, like he went from a total scrub to a pro in a single afternoon which felt a bit cheap. It's got that classic underdog vibe though, and even if the romance subplot with the childhood friend feels a little tacked on right now I'm still sticking with it. Just wish the match commentary didn't drag on for five chapters straight every single time there's a kickoff, it's a bit much.
